A Dizzying Arrival and a Dubious Offer

Chapter 181,779 words15 min read

I gazed at the peculiar architecture, momentarily lost in thought. Once I confirmed this was indeed the dormitory, I lifted my leg and headed towards the stone pillar.

At the very base of the stone pillar, a small door was nestled. I pushed it open gently and stepped inside.

The interior space was surprisingly modest. In a Divine Realm where every room typically dwarfed its earthly counterparts by dozens of times, a mere hundred square meters truly felt small.

The furnishings were simple: a wardrobe, a bed, a chair, an office desk, a coffee table, and a sofa. Lying sprawled asleep on the office desk was a black-haired woman with a perfect figure, clad in a dark-colored dress. Aside from the dark circles under her eyes, her beauty was practically flawless.

Though her lips were a touch pale, her slightly parted mouth remained incredibly alluring.

After waiting for a while and finding no reaction from her, I wrestled with my thoughts before deciding to wake her.

I approached her and gently nudged her shoulder. She merely stirred slightly before falling still again.

Gritting my teeth, I applied more force.

Eventually, she slowly roused herself, swaying as she sat upright.

Rubbing her half-closed eyes, she spotted me. “Oh, Ye Menghan, you’ve arrived—” she yawned, “Hello, I’m Adele, your dormitory administrator. You actually don’t need to come in here; just place your hand on the stone pillar outside, and you’ll automatically be teleported to your dorm…”

Before she could finish, her head slumped forward, and she was asleep once more.

Although she hadn’t finished her explanation, I understood her meaning. I quietly exited the room, gently closing the door behind me.

“Place your hand on the pillar,” I murmured to myself, simultaneously resting my hand on the stone column, which measured approximately twenty meters in diameter.

This time, I was wiser. I refrained from looking upwards, instead fixing my gaze on the ground, awaiting the descent of the holy light.

After a considerable wait, there was still no movement from above. A sudden ominous feeling washed over me, surely the protagonist’s proverbial sixth sense.

A golden magic array swiftly materialized on the ground. Before I could even react, a beam of golden light shot skyward, once again blinding me.

Inside the room, two women watched me with curiosity—this person, or rather, this god, who had suddenly appeared and immediately adopted a squatting, head-covered defensive posture.

The red-haired girl was the first to react. She paused her clothes selection, dropped the garment, and rushed over, crouching down to ask with concern, “You must be the new classmate, right? What happened? Are you alright?”

“I’m fine, just a little unaccustomed to being flashed,” I replied, offering a smile as I turned to look at her.

My smile froze the moment I saw her. I immediately reverted to my head-covered, squatting posture, my voice trembling as I stammered, “You, your clothes.”

“Oh?” she exclaimed, realization dawning. She stood up, noticing she was only in her underwear. “I was just agonizing over what to wear to welcome the new classmate today.”

She jogged back to the wardrobe, retrieved an off-white dress, and slipped it on.

Meanwhile, the blue-haired woman on the other side lowered the book she was reading. She introduced herself, “My name is Xilinka, God of War.”

Xilinka, as she introduced herself, was about my height—well, slightly taller, just a tiny bit. She had shoulder-length blue hair, unadorned by any accessories, falling loosely around her shoulders.

Despite being a God of War, the light yellow pajamas she wore gave her a serene aura.

The red-haired girl, now fully dressed, turned around. “Oh, right, I forgot to introduce myself. I am Lavishly Karafar, God of Magic, an Upper-tier Wingless Divine Race member, titled ‘Domain of Annihilation’.”

The red-haired girl stood approximately 168cm tall, with a well-proportioned figure. Regrettably, she possessed the same “washboard” figure as myself, though her long legs were undeniably beautiful.

But why was she taller than me again…?

Despite this, my curiosity piqued. “What exactly is a title?” I asked, breaking the silence.

She scratched her head. “It’s not really a big deal. Generally, if your personal ranking is high among your peers, you can receive titles bestowed by the school or by other students, which are then recorded in your archives. For instance, Xilinka is known as ‘Absolute Berserker’. And as a High-tier Illusion God, you will definitely have a title in the future.”

I looked at Xilinka in surprise. “Absolute Berserker?”

Lavishly nodded. “Indeed, Absolute Berserker. Don’t let her quiet demeanor fool you, even if she is a Lower-tier Winged Divine Race member. When it comes to a fight, tsk tsk, I suffered a huge loss the first time I dueled her.”

Xilinka, from her spot, raised an eyebrow. “As if you could beat me now.”

Lavishly choked on her words, falling silent.

Why was someone missing? I glanced around the room.

Noticing my searching gaze, Lavishly understood I was looking for our last roommate. This dormitory was designed for four, yet only three of us were present.

Lavishly cast a questioning look at Xilinka.

Xilinka continued reading, not bothering to lift her head. “Mifeier should be in Ye Menghan’s room, I suppose.”

“Oh,” Lavishly responded. “Right, I haven’t shown you your own room yet.”

We were currently standing in the dormitory’s living room, and it was truly immense. This living room had to be at least five hundred square meters…

Lavishly led me into a room. “This is your room. Yesterday, some divine servants came over, claiming to be yours, and arranged the room for you.”

That ominous feeling resurfaced within me. Upon stepping inside, I fell silent.

Everything that met my eyes was pink, a style utterly identical to my castle-like divine palace. Whose princess’s boudoir was this, exactly?

“Wow!” Lavishly, who was ahead of me, gasped in astonishment. “I never expected it to be decorated so beautifully, so adorably.”

I had been complimented, yet I couldn’t feel happy at all. I managed to force out a strained smile and replied, “Is that so?”

Soon after, I noticed a small, white object on the bed, utterly out of place with the surroundings. As I approached, I realized it was a girl, wrapped up in her own wings.

I walked over and gently nudged her. She stirred, then became still again, so I pushed her with more force for a moment. Only then did she slowly, unsteadily sit up.

What was with this inexplicable sense of déjà vu? I recalled Adele acting the same way when I tried to wake her. “Why are you just like Miss Adele?” I couldn’t help but grumble.

Unexpectedly, she heard me. Though her face remained expressionless, she answered very seriously, “I am not like her. She wants to sleep all the time, whereas I only want to sleep when I am very nervous. Just now, I knew a new classmate was arriving, so I came to the new classmate’s room, but I was very nervous, and so I fell asleep.”

At that moment, Lavishly nudged me, leaning in to whisper in my ear. “Actually, Mifeier is Miss Adele’s daughter, but Mifeier doesn’t like being told she’s like her mother.”

I nodded. Their waking postures were truly cast from the same mold.

“My name is Mifeier, an Upper-tier Winged Divine Race member, capable of serving as both a God of War and a God of Magic,” she introduced herself meticulously, with extreme, extreme, extreme seriousness.

Perhaps this was simply her nature—a very earnest girl.

Mifeier had short, silver-white hair, a petite figure, and was undeniably flat-chested. What truly relieved me was that she was only about 144cm tall; finally, someone shorter than me! I was moved.

At this point, I remembered my ultimate purpose for coming to school. “Lavishly,” I began, “do you know how to use Genesis?”

She shook her head. “I don’t know. That’s second-year material.”

“Then when can I advance to the next year?” I pressed further.

She smiled. “It’s actually quite simple. The easiest way is to wait for the next batch of freshmen to enroll; then, we older students will automatically become second-years.”

The next batch, I recalled, was in seven years. I didn’t have that kind of time! “Then, are there any other methods?” I asked anxiously.

She pondered for a moment. “Yes, there is. Your team just needs to rank in the top 50 during the triennial comprehensive performance evaluation.”

“How many teams are there?” I pressed again.

She extended her hand, forming the shape of a nine. “Nine hundred teams? That seems a bit troublesome.”

She shook her head. “No, there are nine thousand.” she said with a proud smile.

I collapsed to the floor, utterly defeated.

She gazed at me with a mysterious glint in her eyes. “Want to join our team?”

Seeing her like this, Mifeier shook her head and walked out of the room.

“You all?” I asked, feeling a touch bewildered.

She smiled confidently. “I can honestly say that with you, our team would undoubtedly be the most lavishly equipped in the entire academy. We have Xilinka, ‘Absolute Berserker’, ranked second in the first-year God of War department, as our vanguard. For our mid-fielder, we have Mifeier, ‘Sleeping Tyrant’, who ranks in the top ten for both God of War and God of Magic disciplines. And then there’s me, ‘Domain of Annihilation’, ranked seventh in the God of Magic department. Finally, with you, Ye Menghan, the titled ‘Moe God’, securing a spot in the top fifty will be effortless.”

Hearing this, I instantly felt there was hope. I nodded vigorously, my small head bobbing like a chick pecking at rice.

She wore a triumphant expression, though I didn’t notice it. Instead, I watched as she operated on my terminal for a moment before declaring, “It’s done.”

I looked at her, full of hope, then remembered a crucial question. “Um, what’s our current ranking?”

She gave an awkward laugh and held up eight fingers.

I was thrilled. “Eightieth?”

Her embarrassment deepened, her head almost burrowing into the ground. “Eight thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight.”

“Crack!” Something shattered within me. It was over; I had been tricked by this person.

Seeing my expression, she quickly tried to explain. “Our individual rankings are all genuine, it’s just that we’re short on members, short on members, haha, haha.”

“Is that so?” I eyed her, knowing full well that the situation was far more complicated than simply being short on members.
