Chapter Eighteen
After fleeing the bathroom, Lisbeth rushed towards the secret passage leading to the treasury at her fastest possible speed. Since her invisibility magic still had a little time left, she bounded through the corridors of the Demon Lord’s Castle without a single worry.
Soon, she arrived at the castle’s main hall, where Lisbeth finally halted her steps.
“Hah… hah… I finally made it to the secret passage entrance…”
If anyone had heard Lisbeth’s words at that moment, they surely would have been shocked. No one would have ever imagined that the secret passage to the treasury was located right within the main hall of the Demon Lord’s Castle’s upper district.
“If I remember correctly, the secret passage should be here.”
After a brief rest, Lisbeth walked to the very center of the hall. She extended a hand and began to feel along the floor.
Moments later, she suddenly found something akin to a button and pressed it directly.
Tap.
The instant Lisbeth pressed the button, the entire hall floor vibrated. Following this, a small magic circle appeared before Lisbeth, glowing with a golden light.
“Good, so this secret passage really has existed for two hundred years. Now, I must hurry to see Little Swordy.”
Having said this, Lisbeth activated the magic circle without hesitation. In the next second, her body vanished from the spot and reappeared within a magnificent, opulent hall.
Yet, Lisbeth did not bother to look around. Instead, she walked directly towards the stone bed situated in the center of the grand hall.
“Yes, this must be it.”
Though countless piles of gold, weapons, items, and massive quantities of priceless magic crystals were stacked all around the hall, Lisbeth paid them no mind. She approached the stone bed and gently tapped it three times.
Tap, tap, tap.
“Ah, Alex, you’re finally here. Honestly, breaking out of prison should have been simple for you, shouldn’t it? Why did it take so long?”
“I’ve kept you waiting, Little Swordy. I almost got caught due to some unexpected complications.”
As Lisbeth finished tapping the stone bed, a familiar voice immediately emanated from within it. Lisbeth knew the voice belonged to her weapon — the Holy Sword Clotilde.
After confirming Clotilde’s presence, Lisbeth took a deep breath and continued, “But I don’t have time for small talk now. Kristia and Hilda are heading towards my cell. I have to free you from your seal before they arrive.”
“Ah, honestly. I told you not to call me Little Swordy! But what will you do now? To avoid exposure, you’ll need to restore these seals exactly as they were after I’m freed. If you still had your class change ability from before, it wouldn’t be a problem, but now it will definitely take some time, won’t it?”
“No, I’m going to use my class change ability right here.”
“Huh?”
As Lisbeth’s words fell, the Holy Sword Clotilde immediately let out a surprised sound and exclaimed loudly to Lisbeth, “Hey, hey, your current body isn’t your original one. Even if your soul is still that of a hero, if your physical body can’t handle your power, you’ll be dead.”
“I know, but if Kristia and her companions catch me red-handed now, I’ll be finished anyway. So, no matter what, I have to take this gamble!”
