“Where is this place?”
Cai Shaowei remembered that he had indeed died, but now he found himself inside a palace.
The palace was enormous, but it wasn’t in a Chinese style—at first glance, it looked like a palace from medieval Europe.
The palace was decorated very lavishly.
Cai Shaowei would have believed it if someone had said this was a king’s palace.
“You’ve come.
Come over and sit down.”
A solemn voice suddenly rang out.
“Who are you?”
Following the voice, Cai Shaowei saw a person sitting on the “throne” atop the palace’s raised platform.
That person radiated a sacred aura that made it impossible to see his face clearly.
“You don’t need to know who I am.
You only need to know that you now bear a mission.
I can bring you back to life.
You decide for yourself whether you want to bear this mission and be revived.”
The man’s voice was so sacred, so holy, that it made one want only to obey him.
It took Cai Shaowei quite a while to snap out of it.
“Who exactly are you?
How could I possibly come back to life?”
“I am a god.
If I say you live, you live.
But the condition is that you must bear my mission.”
The man was secretly surprised that Cai Shaowei’s mind could remain calm in the face of his sacred aura.
Cai Shaowei was astonished.
He had died, yet he could encounter a god—and a god who could bring him back to life.
Thinking of how Ah Hua had betrayed him, Cai Shaowei felt a surge of rage.
He no longer cared what mission he had to bear.
As long as he could live again, he would agree to anything.
“Alright, I am willing to bear the mission.
Hurry up and bring me back to life!”
Cai Shaowei said firmly.
“Very well.
You will be revived now.
As for the mission, someone will find you when the time comes.
Go!”
The man waved his hand, and Cai Shaowei lost consciousness.
When Cai Shaowei opened his eyes, he felt pain all over his body.
He slowly stood up and realized he was still lying in the crystal coffin.
But the goddess beside him had vanished without a trace.
“What the hell?
Where did the goddess go?
Ah, forget it.
I’m alive anyway, so the goddess doesn’t need me to keep her company anymore.”
Cai Shaowei was in high spirits—after all, he had been resurrected.
He climbed out of the coffin with difficulty and slowly steadied himself.
But he noticed that the clothes he was wearing weren’t his own.
And these clothes looked very familiar.
“Aren’t these the goddess’s clothes?”
Cai Shaowei suddenly realized something.
One of his hands felt his own chest, and the other reached down between his legs.
“Oh my god, how did I turn into the goddess?
No, that’s not right.
I should say, how did my soul end up inside the goddess’s body?
Where is my own body?”
Cai Shaowei looked back into the crystal coffin, but his own body was nowhere to be found.
“God, what kind of joke are you playing?!”
Cai Shaowei collapsed limply to the ground.
After a long time, he finally stood up again, his face full of anger.
“Whatever.
I’m starving.
I’ll eat some fruit first.
That muddled god—I’m speechless.
Does he have dementia or something?”
Ignoring whether the fruits on the trees were poisonous, Cai Shaowei devoured them greedily.
After all, because there had been no food inside this goddess’s corpse, Cai Shaowei felt as miserable as if his stomach had been cut open.
After eating, Cai Shaowei felt a wave of relief wash over him.
He walked toward the cave’s exit to find a way out.
Then he noticed a vine hanging down from the mountaintop all the way to the cave’s entrance.
“No way.
They even prepared my way back for me.
But this seems a little too difficult.”
He joked to himself—could an ordinary person really climb up from here?
Cai Shaowei hesitated for a long time but finally decided to give it a try.
He couldn’t just wait here to die, could he?
He steeled his resolve, mustered his courage, and grabbed hold of the vine to climb.
To his surprise, he climbed up very easily.
‘The goddess’s physical condition is pretty good,’
he thought.
In just five minutes, Cai Shaowei had reached the mountaintop.
“Haha, I’m back!”
Cai Shaowei raised his hands high and shouted with excitement.
Afterward, he walked toward the road.
The most important thing now was to get down the mountain, tell his father what had happened, and then eliminate the traitor Ah Hua.
Just then, a sports car drove over.
The handsome young man inside saw a strange girl standing by the roadside and stopped out of curiosity.
When he saw Cai Shaowei’s face, he was instantly mesmerized—because Cai Shaowei, at this moment, was truly breathtakingly beautiful.
“What are you staring at?
Believe me, I’ll gouge your eyes out!”
Cai Shaowei was furious at being gawked at.
The young man had clearly seen many beautiful girls before and quickly snapped out of it.
He got out of the sports car and looked the girl over.
Her clothes were very tasteful—clearly, she came from a wealthy family.
As the man stepped out, Cai Shaowei noticed that he was much taller than himself.
He had handsome features and looked to be under twenty.
Seeing the Maserati sports car, Cai Shaowei thought to himself, ‘A rich second-generation heir.’
“‘Believe me’?
Heh, miss, you’re quite funny.”
The young man said with a smile.
“None of your business.
Take me down the mountain.
Otherwise, I’ll cripple you!”
Being stared at like this made Cai Shaowei very uncomfortable.
The young man clearly had a temper too.
Irritated by being shouted at like that, he replied reluctantly, “What did you say?
Who do you think you are?
How dare you shout at me like that?
Do you know who I am?”
Cai Shaowei was annoyed.
‘This guy talks way too much.’
Just as he was about to go teach the kid a lesson, a voice broke the tense atmosphere.
“Hey, beautiful, I’ll take you down the mountain.”
Cai Shaowei looked over and saw that a BMW sports car had pulled up without him noticing.
The blonde-haired handsome guy inside called out to him.
The blonde then said to the Maserati driver, “Lin Zijun, you win today’s race.
Since you’re unwilling to take this beautiful lady down the mountain, this brother here will gladly step in.
Haha!”
Lin Zijun was still angry.
He shot a glare at Cai Shaowei and threatened, “You remember this.
If you run into me again, you’ll regret it.”
Then he sped off quickly.
“Beautiful, get in.”
The blonde said with a smile.
Cai Shaowei said nothing and climbed into the car brusquely.
The car then started driving down the mountain.
“Hello there, beautiful.
My name is Jin Huizhang.
What’s yours?”
The blonde looked at Cai Shaowei through the rearview mirror, his face full of smiles.
“Heh, ‘Chairman,’ is it?”
Cai Shaowei said coldly.
“Not ‘Chairman’—Huizhang.”
“Just drive.
No more useless talk.”
Cai Shaowei’s tone remained icy cold.
‘This girl is very special.
Fiery enough.
I like her,’
Jin Huizhang thought to himself.
“By the way, what’s the date today?”
Cai Shaowei suddenly realized he needed to know the time—at least how many days he had been trapped.
“The 25th.”
Though Jin Huizhang found the question strange, he answered anyway.
Cai Shaowei was shocked.
The 25th?
‘Well, damn.
I was trapped for a full ten days.’
When the car reached the bottom of the mountain, Cai Shaowei got out and walked away immediately.
“Miss, what exactly happened to you?
Do you need my help?”
Jin Huizhang followed and asked tentatively.
“None of your business.
Don’t ask.
Don’t follow me.
Or I’ll kill you!”
Cai Shaowei walked off into the distance.
Jin Huizhang had wanted to keep following, but since she had put it that way, continuing would only make him annoying.
‘Heh, what an interesting girl.
I’ll deal with you next time we meet,’
he thought to himself.
What Cai Shaowei needed to do now was contact his father, Cai Guolong.
But he knew Ah Hua was a traitor.
If he went directly to see Cai Guolong now, it would alert the enemy.
So he sneaked into his father’s office at the “Guolong Group.”
The “Guolong Group” was a front for the Black Dragon Society’s underworld dealings, and the office password was known only to father and son.
