The VIP Lounge

Chapter 2 • 1,268 words • 11 min read

Meanwhile, on the other side…

Bai Xia, carrying a tray, slowly made her way to the VIP lounge door. The sound of laughter and clinking glasses from within made her heart flutter with unease. “Sigh… Is this what the lives of the rich are like?”

It was impossible not to be envious, especially in the dazzling capital where money and power were everything. As a poor student who had to carefully budget every meal and rent payment, she realized that her life would always be spent working for those above her. But… wouldn’t all her efforts be in vain here?

Bai Xia couldn’t help but worry about herself. She began to regret taking on the task of delivering alcohol for the bartender. Her intuition, a trait unique to women, told her that the syringe on the tray wasn’t something good. But she had no choice; if she didn’t drink blood by tomorrow, she wouldn’t be able to return to her original form and attend school on Monday.

‘Please, don’t let it be what I think it is…’ Bai Xia silently prayed.

Having worked at the bar for a few days, she had gained some insight into its darker side. With her incredibly cute appearance, she often faced various forms of harassment, and there had even been instances where people wanted to take advantage of her. But this situation was unlike anything she had encountered before.

Could it be a date r*pe drug? Bai Xia took a deep breath and slowly pushed open the heavy door of the VIP lounge, her heartbeat racing to its limit.

Inside, under the dim yellow light and swirling smoke, several men in suits sat, one of them flanked by beautiful women, singing and flirting. It was clear that this man was the leader of the group. This must be the ‘Manager Wang’ the bartender had mentioned.

He certainly had the oily, middle-aged look of a wealthy man, fitting perfectly with her stereotypes.

As soon as Bai Xia entered, a greasy voice called out from the side, unmistakably belonging to Manager Wang. “Well, well, a new little sister? Come sit here!”

The moment Manager Wang saw Bai Xia, his murky eyes were captivated by her pure and cute appearance. Greed flashed in his gaze, growing boundless.

This must be the target… She’s so beautiful…

Compared to the other girls in the bar, this girl was extraordinarily cute, giving him a ‘stunning beauty, like a goddess from the heavens’ feeling. Her snow-white long hair and ruby-red eyes were mesmerizing, impossible to look away from. Marrying such a girl must mean saving the galaxy in a past life? Is this even humanly possible? No wonder the price was so high.

But no matter what, she definitely couldn’t escape tonight. And if it was a date r*pe drug… maybe he could enjoy her before handing her over.

Manager Wang narrowed his eyes, the fat on his face twisting into a sinister smile. He had been with many women, but never one as beautiful as this. And the client had assured him that she was just an ordinary person, not some superhuman.

“Little beauty…” Manager Wang patted the empty seat next to him, his gold ring glinting under the light. “Come, help Uncle open the wine and pour a glass.”

“Y-yes…” Bai Xia’s body trembled, her blood-red pupils contracting slightly as if startled, but she quickly regained her composure.

But she knew exactly what Manager Wang was thinking. After all, she used to be a man, and who understands men better than a man himself? Bai Xia found Manager Wang’s leering gaze repulsive, but for her hard-earned wages, she had to suppress her disgust. Her beautiful face forced a smile.

Bai Xia’s slender fingers trembled as they grasped the cold wine bottle. Her knuckles, pale from tension, contrasted sharply with the dark bottle. She had never opened such a high-end wine and had no experience, fumbling with the cork. After several slips, she finally pulled out the cork with a ‘pop,’ her slender wrist shaking from the effort. As the amber liquid poured into the glass, her wrist gave out, spilling a few drops onto Manager Wang’s gold-ringed, fleshy hand.

“I-I’m sorry… I’ll clean it up right away…” Bai Xia’s blood-red pupils constricted, her heartbeat skipping a few beats. But hoping that such an important person wouldn’t be petty, she quickly grabbed a tissue from the box nearby, forcing a smile as she apologized while wiping the spillage.

There was no other choice; she was under someone else’s roof and had to bow her head. Her wages depended on this oily, middle-aged man.

Life is tough, and a poor girl has to earn her keep. But… it’s so disgusting.

With her looks, she would have been the school’s beauty queen. Now, she was being molested by this oily middle-aged man. Bai Xia couldn’t accept it and regretted working at this bar. She promised herself to quit as soon as she got her pay.

While Bai Xia was lost in thought, Manager Wang watched the petite, cute girl wiping his hand, his gaze fixed on her.

Up close, the girl’s features were even more stunning—her porcelain skin seemed to glow under the dim light, her long lashes casting butterfly shadows, and her ruby eyes held a hint of suppressed tears. Her slender waist and the slight rise and fall of her chest under her pure white dress made her both innocent and alluring, especially with her snow-white hair.

She was truly beautiful. It was hard to resist the urge to pin her down and have his way with her.

Desire flickered in Manager Wang’s eyes, and he suddenly grabbed her slender wrist, his grip so tight that Bai Xia let out a soft gasp, trying to push him away but held back by his iron-like arm.

“L-let go of me…” The overpowering mix of cigarette and cologne made Bai Xia feel nauseous. Soon, she heard the man’s oily voice whispering in her ear. “What’s your name? Come, have a drink with Uncle.”

“I… I’m just here to deliver the wine.” Bai Xia struggled, her snow-white hair sticking to her flushed cheeks.

She could feel Manager Wang’s fleshy hand sliding down her slender waist, the disgusting sensation making her skin crawl. But then, a wad of cash suddenly appeared on the table from the man’s pocket.

“See? One drink, and all of this is your tip.” Held tightly by the man, Bai Xia wanted to leave but hesitated for a moment when she saw the stack of bills, knowing it was worth more than five figures.

“I…” Bai Xia’s gaze flickered between the cash and the wine glass, her blood-red pupils reflecting her inner turmoil.

So much money… It was more than her entire week’s tips. If she could get it, she wouldn’t have to worry about buying blood or next month’s rent. At least for a while, she could live comfortably.

In that moment, Bai Xia couldn’t deny that she was tempted. But… she couldn’t believe this man had no other intentions. She had worked hard for so long; she didn’t believe in free lunches.

But… this man was offering so much!

Screw it! It was just one drink; she wasn’t that weak to be knocked out by a single glass. Sitting next to the man, Bai Xia bit her lip and downed the drink in one gulp. As the alcohol burned her throat, she noticed a strange smile on Manager Wang’s face—the red syringe on the tray was now empty.

Caught! She’d been tricked!
