‘I must be mistaken!
This has to be a delusion!’
Chen Zeyu’s mouth fell open, speechless.
Her hands traced from her chin to her cheeks, unable to believe that the baby-soft face staring back at her was actually her own.
“Hehe~ It seems my potion worked wonderfully, almost an eight or nine out of ten resemblance to me.”
Evetti leaned down with a smug expression, reaching out to pinch Chen Zeyu’s cheek.
Startled by the sudden touch, Chen Zeyu jolted backward.
“Don’t come any closer!”
Thud.
Due to the limited space indoors, Chen Zeyu’s head hit the wall.
She winced, immediately lowering her head and clutching her poor skull.
‘Ow… that hurts!
Why isn’t this nightmare ending!’
Chen Zeyu instinctively questioned herself, but the answer was glaringly obvious.
This wasn’t a dream.
“You’re not dreaming, dear.
It was I, Evetti Flann, who turned you into a girl.”
Evetti took a bold step forward.
Though she wasn’t tall, standing before Chen Zeyu, she seemed like an insurmountable mountain.
“You… why did you do this?
We have no grievances between us.”
Chen Zeyu’s pupils quivered, and the unfamiliar voice felt incredibly awkward.
“Hmph?
No grievances?
Your comments made us very unhappy!
You wantonly trampled on the fruits of others’ labor with your words!
That is your mistake!”
Evetti’s tone was stern and severe, tapping her wand as if to cast a spell that would roast Chen Zeyu over a fire!
“My comments?”
Chen Zeyu’s gaze flickered with hesitation.
“My potion doesn’t cause amnesia.
Your hundreds of negative reviews still exist.
Tell me, how will you compensate us?”
Evetti crossed her arms, her eyes narrowing slightly as she radiated displeasure.
Chen Zeyu recoiled, intimidated by Evetti’s gaze, but her back was already pressed against the wall, leaving her no escape.
She had to provide an answer that would satisfy the other party.
“I’m… I’m sorry, I was wrong, truly wrong!
I’ll delete the negative reviews immediately and never speak out of turn again!
Please, turn me back!”
Chen Zeyu clasped her hands together in supplication.
She was a pragmatic person and didn’t want to permanently lose her male identity because of this.
“Heh!
A plank of wood that has been nailed will always bear holes.
Those negative reviews you so carelessly posted have left an unpleasant mark on our hearts.
Do you think I’ll forgive you that easily?”
Evetti raised an eyebrow, seemingly disdainful of Chen Zeyu’s apology.
“Then what do you want?
I’ll do anything… no, anything that doesn’t violate the law, I’m willing to do!
Just turn me back!”
Chen Zeyu’s pleading was just short of kowtowing, as she was already in a kneeling position.
Seeing Chen Zeyu beg for mercy in her own likeness, Evetti felt a slight stir.
‘The potion’s appearance shouldn’t have been my own, but it looks like Chen Zeyu has learned her lesson.
A final scare, and then I’ll end this.’
Evetti closed her eyes, exhaling as if making a momentous decision.
“Considering you’re just an ordinary person, and I’m not some evil witch, I’ll let you go if you abide by the three rules I set.”
“Please tell me!
I will definitely obey!”
Chen Zeyu agreed without hesitation; after all, she had no room to maneuver.
“First, you are forbidden from posting any more malicious negative reviews for Dawn’s Prayer!
Bugs and optimizations can be reported, but no low scores!
Think carefully before you rate!”
“Mm-hmm!”
“Second, you are forbidden from revealing anything you know about witches appearing!”
“I absolutely won’t!”
“Good.
And the last rule: you are forbidden from calling me ‘small’ in any context!
In any aspect!
Otherwise, I will definitely come looking for trouble again!”
Evetti’s final rule seemed to stem from a personal grudge, and Chen Zeyu froze for a moment.
“Hm?”
Evetti tapped her wand on her shoulder.
“Ah!
Yes!”
Chen Zeyu nodded repeatedly, like a drum.
“Good.
Since you agree, I’ll also tell you the truth: the potion’s effect will wear off after one day.
During this time, you should reflect thoroughly on your actions!”
Evetti finished her instructions.
She turned to face the bright moonlight outside the window, a relaxed smile gracing her pretty face, and spoke with newfound emotion.
“Dawn’s Prayer is the result of my mother’s and my seniors’ combined efforts.
I hope you respect their hard work.
With that, farewell, Chen Zeyu.”
Evetti rose with the moonlight, her skirt and body slowly drifting upwards.
She then passed through the window, flying like a swift star, disappearing into a tiny speck of light in the night sky.
Chen Zeyu stared blankly at the starry sky outside the window, murmuring to herself.
“Witches are real.
It’s almost like a dream.”
Chen Zeyu patted her flat chest, silently accepting the existence of supernatural phenomena like witches in the world.
And Dawn’s Prayer seemed to be a game developed by witches.
‘From now on, I must be careful with what I say, because witches might come knocking.’
Having suffered a loss, Chen Zeyu naturally resolved to remember this lesson.
However, a reflective white light caught her eye on the windowsill, as if something was hanging outside.
‘What’s that?’
Noticing the gleam, Chen Zeyu stood up from the bed.
Because her height had shrunk, she could only stand on tiptoe, straining to reach for the precarious item dangling outside the windowsill.
“Just a little more.”
Chen Zeyu pushed with her big toes, finally managing to grasp the string of items outside.
“Got it.”
Chen Zeyu sat down with her legs crossed, leaning against the wall.
Upon closer inspection, the item was a silver necklace, its sun and moon pendant exquisitely crafted.
“Did the witch drop this earlier?”
Chen Zeyu guessed Evetti had dropped it; flying away so suddenly, it would be easy to lose something.
The necklace reflected the moonlight, its pure white glow illuminating Chen Zeyu’s face.
The charming, petite face was mirrored in the pendant’s luster.
“I’ll keep it with me for now; she’ll probably come back for it.”
Chen Zeyu rubbed her sleepy eyes, glanced at her oversized clothes, and then lay down helplessly.
‘No more thinking.
Everything will be fine tomorrow.’
Chen Zeyu calmed her mind and drifted off to sleep.
However, the moonlight continued to shine, and the pendant’s reflected glow gently caressed her body.
Tiny changes were slowly taking place.
Memories from the internal test phase of Dawn’s Prayer resurfaced in her dream.
Chen Zeyu randomly saw a description of a necklace, as if guided by fate’s subtle hint.
[Silver Time.
Equipment Effect: Extends the potency of active potions, including negative status effects.
Unique Item Destruction Effect: If the equipment is destroyed, the potency of a random potion effect will be extended permanently.]
A simple description flitted across the sea of dreams, and reality seemed to have shifted.
At midnight, a familiar, uninvited guest entered Chen Zeyu’s home.
“Ugh!
What am I going to do…”
The voice was as frantic as an ant on a hot pan.
Chen Zeyu frowned slightly, opening her eyes to calmly awaken from her dream.
It was still night outside, though the moonlight had shifted slightly.
Evetti was pacing by the bed, her movements indicating great urgency.
“Your… thing… you left it with me.”
Chen Zeyu rubbed her eyes, fumbling around her side sleepily, but the necklace she had put away was gone.
“Ah, you’re awake, I know.”
Evetti suddenly froze and stood still, hiding her hands behind her back as if trying to conceal something.
“Huh?
You already took it, then.
If there’s nothing else, I’ll go back to sleep.”
Chen Zeyu was about to close her eyes, but Evetti softly stopped her.
“No, you have something important to deal with now.”
Evetti’s tone sounded apologetic.
“What is it?”
Chen Zeyu immediately became more alert.
She looked at Evetti, whose face was far from good.
“The Silver Time… it shattered.
When I found it, it had absorbed an excessive amount of moonlight, and it has a special effect.”
Evetti stammered an explanation, her gaze nervously avoiding Chen Zeyu.
“Special effect… Wait!
Are you saying it extends a potion’s effect permanently?”
Chen Zeyu’s voice involuntarily rose.
Evetti remained silent, her eyes darting away, her face flushed – clearly a disastrous expression of ‘I’ve messed up big time.’
‘That expression isn’t just an item description!
It’s actually real!’
Chen Zeyu looked down at her delicate, childish hands, her eyes welling up.
Her life, it seemed, had been completely overturned tonight!
