Join the ServerBai Long stood expressionless before the full-length mirror, staring at his reflection without a word.
The woman in the mirror had long black hair that fell to the shoulders of her JK uniform skirt.
Her face was cold and beautiful, with slightly upturned eyes that held a hint of pressure in their crimson irises.
Under her high nose bridge, her lips were pale, giving off an air of distance.
Well… looking at this new image, Bai Long had only one thought.
‘When did I get into the gacha pool?’
Okay, not that.
Bai Long’s gaze shifted upward, and the woman in the mirror raised her head as well.
Above her head floated a ring-shaped glowing object.
Ah, so holy, so radiant.
‘So this is what my Warp essence looks like?’
Bai Long hesitated, then waved a hand between the halo and his head.
No sensation at all.
Clearly, this wasn’t a cosplay prop; there was no physical connection to his head.
So he was dead, and had even become an angel?
Bai Long tilted his head.
The girl in the mirror tilted hers expressionlessly, the halo precisely following the motion as if attached to her head.
So he was dead, with a halo on his head?
He raised his hand further and was somewhat surprised.
The halo was solid?
After taking it off, he casually tossed it onto the table.
After all, what he was about to do wouldn’t be convenient with a halo on his head.
Confirming there were no other glowing items on him, Bai Long began to look around the room.
The room was incredibly spacious.
Several paintings hung on the cream-white walls.
They looked familiar, like he had seen them somewhere before.
On the vanity, various exquisite perfume bottles and jewelry boxes were arranged neatly.
Though obviously unopened, they were complete.
From some small details, this was likely his room.
Of course, it wasn’t impossible for a man to be this meticulous.
He opened the wardrobe with the full-length mirror, revealing rows of dresses in different colors and styles.
From simple elegant long dresses to playful short skirts, everything was there.
Opening the drawers below, there were matching stockings and hair accessories.
And some items you probably don’t want me to list directly.
Yeah, it should be a woman’s room.
Of course, it wasn’t impossible for a man to be this into cross-dressing.
Actually, Bai Long was slowly recalling some things, but very slowly.
Most of his mind was still filled with memories of being the legendary operator Bai Long, making it difficult to recall things about Bai Shuang.
But he could still tell that this room should belong to Bai Shuang.
While organizing clues, Bai Long closed the wardrobe door.
He was very careful, not making a sound.
Silently, he crept to the room’s door and listened carefully.
He could faintly hear some subtle noises, but they were far away.
Bai Long didn’t rush; he waited patiently for a long time.
After confirming nothing was at the door, he took a deep breath, turned the cold doorknob in his palm, and slowly pushed open the carved wooden door.
A sweet humming sound came faintly, and a strange fragrance filled the room.
The tune was soft, with gentle undulations, meant to be relaxing but inexplicably stirring unease in the heart.
Bai Long’s nerves instantly tightened, alarms blaring in his mind.
His subconscious warned of danger ahead, his reason told him not to approach.
This feeling was too familiar, as familiar as when he was still in his original world, as familiar as when he was on a mission.
It was the feeling the Skinless Brotherhood, those who claimed to summon true gods, gave him.
Suppressing the palpitations in his heart, he silently left the room.
This should be a small villa.
After passing through a long corridor, he soon saw a spiral staircase leading down.
He walked down the spiral stairs without making a sound.
Reaching the last step, he felt the sound growing closer.
Following the sound, he arrived at the dining room.
In the dining room, two sets of bone china tableware were neatly arranged on the marble dining table, silver knives and forks gleaming coldly.
The place was large, larger than a typical villa; at least his house in the compound wasn’t this big.
Looking in the direction of the singing, a woman in an apron was busy in the kitchen with her back to him.
Her fluffy curly hair trembled with her movements.
The sound of stir-frying and humming intertwined, and the air was thick with rich, sweet fragrance.
Bai Long was alert, making no sound and not approaching.
His instinct was to retreat.
But just then, the woman put down her spatula.
“Awake?”
Hearing the voice, Bai Long was startled, his pupils contracting slightly.
He was sure he had made no sound, yet the other seemed to know he was there.
But quickly, Bai Long made a choice based on experience.
“Mm.”
The girl just replied calmly, then sat down generously at one of the seats.
The woman poured something from the pan; it looked like a colorful dish.
Holding a steaming porcelain plate, she turned around gracefully.
Seeing her front, Bai Long’s eyebrows raised slightly, almost imperceptibly.
The woman before him had thick black curly hair casually scattered, the ends slightly curled, giving her a lazy look.
The cheongsam she wore outlined her graceful curves, though partially covered by an apron with a bear pattern…
Well, it didn’t hide them.
Because of the apron’s waist tie, her figure was even more accentuated.
Her brows were curved, a gentle smile at the corners of her lips.
When her gaze fell on Bai Long, it was as if she were looking at… a child?
He had to admit, seeing her, he somewhat understood why those young people constantly wanted to call characters “mom.”
Back then, he had wanted to call her that too, but remembering he was old enough to be her grandfather, he held back.
Her looks were indeed likable.
But unfortunately, for Bai Long, that was a disadvantage.
He was actually even more vigilant than before.
On the surface, his expression didn’t change, but internally he was constantly watching her movements.
She only smiled and placed the dish on the table before finally having a chance to look at Bai Long.
But the moment their eyes met, she paused briefly, then let out a light laugh.
“Ah, so you haven’t recovered yet?”
But as soon as she spoke, Bai Long slammed the table.
The table knife bounced up.
Without hesitation, Bai Long grabbed it and threw it at the woman.
The whole action took less than a second; he was confident she couldn’t dodge.
But he didn’t stop there.
He forcefully pushed off the table with his leg.
The chair tipped over with a bang, and Bai Long used the momentum to flip backward.
When he looked up to see her move, he was stunned.
In her hand, a delicate folding fan had appeared from nowhere.
The fan opened with a whoosh, covering most of her face, leaving only her beautiful eyes visible.
In an instant, the black in her eyes spread like ink, filling her pupils in the blink of an eye, glowing with an eerie light.
‘Can’t look at her can’t look at her can’t look at her can’t look at her can’t look at her can’t look at her can’t look at her.’
‘No, her looking at me is fine.’
‘Like being in mother’s arms, warm, soft…’
‘That ink isn’t dirty; it’s a swaddling cloth wrapping me…’
‘Her laughter is a lullaby putting me to sleep.’
At the last moment, Bai Long was clear for an instant.
He had only one thought.
‘Damn! Scripted death!’
