Chapter 20: Partnership Agreement.

In the end, I succeeded in defeating the boss on my 77th attempt last night and received a mission fee of 500,000 won from the chairman as a kickback, allowing me to end the broadcast.

The next day arrived.

“…Wow, it’s really huge.”

Just past noon, after having lunch and heading to the meeting place, I stood before a massive building.

This was none other than the headquarters of Aiver, which I visited due to a meeting proposal mentioned during the broadcast yesterday.

I heard that shortly after the announcement about the termination of the Twip service, several famous streamers were offered meetings first, followed by some Twip partner streamers who were contacted sequentially.

I was one of them.

So, here I was, finally making an outing outside of the gym after a long time, but as soon as I saw the building, I felt so small. I realized that there was indeed a difference when it came to big corporations.

Gulp.

After swallowing and easing my tension, I adjusted the bag on my back and stepped toward the building.

Wow, I feel so small.

Once I entered, I saw a cleanly decorated interior with an information desk in the center. It wasn’t too flashy or too plain; it had that feel of money well spent.

“Excuse me. I’m here for a meeting today.”

After glancing around for a moment, I approached the information desk and carefully spoke. The female employee, who was staring at me blankly for a moment, responded with a surprised, “Ah!” as if she had just realized something.

Maybe she was zoning out from work fatigue. I understood that feeling.

“May I ask which person you have a meeting scheduled with?”

“I heard it’s with Assistant Manager Kim Sung-min from the Social Media Team.”

“Oh, if that’s the case, are you here for the Cheese Streamer meeting?”

“Yes, that’s correct.”

Nodding my head, the employee started typing something on the computer and opened a drawer to take out what looked like a name tag.

“Please wear this, and go to the Social Media Team 2 down the right corridor on the 3rd floor.”

“Ah, thank you. Have a great day.”

Following a habit learned from my dad, I greeted her with the biggest smile I could muster. The employee looked a bit surprised but soon smiled back and waved her hand.

Meeting people like that with a smile seems like a daunting task for someone in the service industry.

“Ah…!”

Soon, I reached the elevator, where I saw someone already inside it, having arrived on the first floor.

If I missed that, it felt like my schedule to arrive at least ten minutes before the meeting time would be thrown off, so I sighed and made a dash for it.

“Whoa!”

Fortunately, noticing me, a man quickly pressed the open button for the elevator, looking surprised. Thanks to him, a disaster of getting stuck in the elevator door didn’t happen.

“Phew, phew… thank you.”

As I gasped for air to express my gratitude, the man in his mid-thirties looked down at me with a wry smile and waved his hand.

“No problem. By the way, judging by your pass, you must be here for the streamer meeting, right?”

“Yes, I am…. Huh?”

Just as I was about to nod my head with my hand resting on my knee, a voice that felt strangely familiar echoed in my ears, making me involuntarily lift my head.

Ding.

At that moment, I heard the sound indicating that the elevator had arrived at the 3rd floor, and I stepped out, staring at the man before me.

It wasn’t that I had a particular preference for him; it was just that the voice I heard a moment ago was so familiar.

“Excuse me… are you Exit?”

Exit.

In the Korean streaming world, he is among the top five most prominent streamers, known for his high energy and overwhelming fanbase due to his extensive content creation.

He is in his mid-thirties and, like me, has maintained a no-cam streaming style, remaining shrouded in mystery without a public face.

He was also the streamer I used to watch most frequently before I started my own broadcasting.

“Haha, that’s right. How did you know?”

As soon as I heard his confirmation, my eyes widened in disbelief.

Wait, is he really Exit?

“I’m a huge fan! I never expected to see Exit here… it’s an honor.”

“Oh my, the honor is mine.”

I had heard that he had picked up various dialects while traveling across different regions during his childhood, but I never imagined it would come out so strongly in his real-life speech.

Wow, it’s really Exit. I can’t believe it.

“Ah, I’m Cosmos, streaming on Twip. Sorry for the late introduction.”

“Nice to meet you. If you’re Cosmos, you’re the one who often gives advice on your broadcasts, right?”

“Do you know me?”

“I do; my wife watches you often.”

Wait, what? Exit’s wife watches my broadcasts often?

Considering he knows what kind of content I usually produce, it doesn’t seem like he’s just being polite.

Is this a dream or reality?

“Anyway, let’s save the chit-chat for later and head to the meeting first. There might be other people waiting for us.”

“Oh! I’m sorry! I was a bit out of it…”

Feeling as if I were standing in front of a statue, Exit urged me to hurry along and started walking toward the corridor.

As I followed him, we arrived in front of a sign that read “Social Media Team 2,” just as a male employee passed by and made eye contact with us.

“Oh, welcome! You must be Exit and Cosmos, right?”

As soon as he saw us, the man instantly recognized who we were and greeted us enthusiastically. This must be Kim Sung-min, the assistant manager we were supposed to meet.

“Yes, that’s right.”

“Nice to meet you.”

“I didn’t expect both of you to arrive together. It’s a pleasure to meet you. I’m Assistant Manager Kim Sung-min.”

After bowing his head in greeting, the employee gestured toward another door and looked at Exit.

“Exit’s meeting coordinator will be here soon. We’ve also prepared some refreshments in the conference room next door, so please feel free to wait there.”

“Ah, thank you. I’ll head in first then.”

It seemed like the meetings were one-on-one, as Exit entered the conference room for his session with another employee. After watching him go, Assistant Manager Kim Sung-min guided me to a different room next to the pantry. There were so many rooms along the corridor that I couldn’t help but wonder why there were so many.

“Let me introduce myself again. I’m Kim Sung-min, currently assigned to the Social Media Team 2. I also handle partnership contracts for the upcoming Cheese platform.”

We entered a room with a neatly decorated interior and a table with light refreshments. Assistant Manager Kim Sung-min handed me his business card and began formally introducing himself. I stood up and bowed in return, offering my own introduction.

“My name is Kang Woo-ju. On Twip, I go by the nickname ‘Cosmos.'”

“Oh, right. I remember reading that your streamer name comes from your real name, correct?”

“You knew that?”

“Haha, of course. We need to know at least this much about someone who might become a valuable partner.”

His friendliness from the start was quite surprising. After all, I was just an average streamer with about 300 viewers, not one of the famous streamers like Exit, who had thousands or even tens of thousands of viewers. I also wasn’t one of those rapidly rising stars often called supernovas. So, I hadn’t expected them to offer such a warm welcome, let alone propose that I join their platform.

“Please, have a seat so we can talk comfortably.”

“Alright.”

Although I felt a bit overwhelmed, at the same time, the treatment I was receiving made me strangely excited.

“To get straight to the point, we would like to offer you a partnership.”

As I tried not to get ahead of myself and followed his suggestion to sit down, the real discussion began.

Roll, roll.

It was a rare day off. I left everything to the company employees and was lounging on my bed at home. I could feel a growing sense of anxiety boiling up inside me. It was understandable, given that today was the day of Cosmos’ meeting for the new platform.

“I hope everything’s going well…”

Hugging a large pillow, I muttered to myself, though I wasn’t sure whom I was directing the words toward. But the anxiety refused to go away. I couldn’t help worrying. I had heard that Twip had called in all the partner streamers, but I knew that only a select few would be truly wanted by the Cheese platform. Whether Cosmos was one of them, I couldn’t be sure.

“The partnership terms are quite good. The question is whether that offer will even come to Cosmos.”

From what I’d heard, Cheese’s partnership contracts differed slightly from Twip’s. The payout system and special conditions weren’t extraordinary, but they weren’t lacking either. If Cosmos received the offer, it would definitely serve as a good foundation for future growth. In fact, I had even considered giving the company a nudge to ensure the partnership went through, but I ultimately decided against it. It just didn’t seem like something Cosmos would want.

Cosmos often mentioned on stream that they weren’t fond of relying on others to achieve their goals. As a fan, the best thing I could do was trust and wait for my favorite streamer. But I couldn’t help but worry.

Flutter.

Still, the worry persisted. Eventually, after pacing back and forth on my bed, I threw off the covers and pillow and jumped up. I headed straight for the shower. Alright, I’ll just take a quick look. I had previously mentioned to Cosmos that I knew someone at Aiver, so even if we ran into each other, it wouldn’t be strange. I could just say I was visiting an acquaintance. Satisfied with my justification, I turned on the shower, letting the warm water wash over me as I closed my eyes.

I can’t wait to see Cosmos again.
