“Lightning Storm”
The [S] Lightning Storm I unleashed rushed toward Baek Jooseok’s [A] Lightning Cannon like an arrow.
The Lightning Storm pierced through Baek Jooseok’s Lightning Cannon in an instant.
“Uh…? Uh?… A… Ice…”
Baek Jooseok, flustered and bewildered, attempted to cast another spell, but it was already too late.
The Lightning Storm created a massive vortex, hurtling toward Baek Jooseok at tremendous speed.
“Grrr!”
The storm made of electricity hit him, causing the president to tremble violently in pain.
However, true to being an A-grade top-tier magician, his recovery time was not long.
“Re… Recovery…!”
As soon as he cast the spell, the damage rapidly healed, and he panted as he spoke.
“Did you… hide your power?…”
I replied to Baek Jooseok with a calm expression.
“Hide my power? I don’t understand what you mean.”
His face turned bright red as he began to shout.
“Don’t play dumb! Lightning Storm is an S-grade spell. You pretended you couldn’t use magic above A-grade! You sly and malicious bastard!”
I smiled and answered.
“Haha. When did I ever say I could only use A-grade magic? You can’t blame me for your own assumptions.”
“Then… you intentionally didn’t use S-grade magic in the dungeon, and now you’re spewing nonsense!”
“Oh, the dungeon? I didn’t use it on purpose. If I could utilize external mana, there’s no need to use high-level magic.”
Baek Jooseok’s face grew even redder.
Choi Joo-won was right; he had never explicitly stated he couldn’t use S-grade magic.
Instead, he led everyone to believe he couldn’t use high-level spells by using lower ones, like creating fire rocks instead of Meteo.
Shaking, Baek Jooseok said,
“Don’t be arrogant just because you attacked me once. I’ll show you why I’m the president of a prestigious academy. Even if I can use S-grade magic, you’ll never be my match. I may have been caught off guard at first, but not this time.”
He cast the spell with a tense expression.
“Blizzard!”
In an instant, a snowstorm began to swirl around.
And from within that blizzard, countless sharp ice spears began to rain down.
‘Hmm… Not bad at all.’
Even with the same spell, the power varies greatly depending on who uses it. [S] Blizzard is characterized by a raging snowstorm and a multitude of falling ice spears.
The power of the blizzard and the number of spears depend on the caster’s skill level.
As dozens of ice spears rained down on me, I quickly chanted a spell.
Clang!
The ice spears ruthlessly charged toward the shield that had formed in an instant. However, they vanished into thin air upon contact with the Magic Shield.
One of the reporters watching the spectacle gasped in astonishment.
“Is… Is that even possible?”
“Can you really block Blizzard with just a Magic Shield? Is that even possible?”
“Of course not, you idiot. It’s impossible.”
“Then what exactly am I witnessing right now?…”
“Seriously, this is absurd. Am I dreaming? Ha…”
Looking at Baek Jooseok, whose trump card had been thwarted, I shouted,
“Your level of magic is so low that you can’t even break through a Magic Shield with Blizzard. Ah… that’s a shame. Honestly, I thought fighting you would be more tense and competitive. From the looks of it, I seem to have the overwhelming advantage.”
Baek Jooseok shouted back at me, mocking me.
“Don’t be ridiculous! Just because you blocked a few spells, don’t talk trash!”
Just as Baek Jooseok was about to cast another spell, I quickly chanted my own.
I moved behind him and whispered with a smirk,
“Don’t curse, you piece of shit. I was just playing with you, but if you keep acting up, I’ll want to kill you.”
As I placed my hand on him, Baek Jooseok’s body turned pale as if frozen in place.
In an instant, Baek Jooseok’s body was frozen. I unleashed a Lightning Storm at the defenseless Baek Jooseok, who was exposed in his frozen state.
“Grrrrr!”
As the electricity struck, he broke free from the freeze, writhing in pain. He was completely disoriented by the sudden spell.
“See? This is what happens when you act up.”
Looking down at him, I cast Blizzard.
The snowstorm was vastly different from the one Baek Jooseok had conjured earlier; a ferocious blizzard began to pour down, accompanied by deadly ice spears.
Baek Jooseok, now a mess, barely managed to regain his composure and cast a Magic Shield.
The shield protected him a few times from the ice spears, but soon cracks began to form.
As the ice spears struck the Magic Shield, fractures appeared more frequently.
Eventually, the Magic Shield shattered, and countless ice spears began to pierce Baek Jooseok’s body.
Dozens of ice spears rained down on him.
As Baek Jooseok coughed, blood gushed from his mouth. The onlookers murmured.
“Isn’t… that too cruel?…”
“Ugh… I can’t watch this….”
Baek Jooseok’s body had turned into a tattered mess in an instant.
I slowly approached him and said,
“Do you have anything to say? You were so noisy a moment ago.”
With ice spears sticking out of his body and looking horrifically battered, Baek Jooseok instead began to chant a spell.
Hellfire. A simple yet powerful flame, often described as an unquenchable fire by some. The terrifying aspect of this magic is that once the flames—
If this sticks, it won’t extinguish until it’s burned out by magic.
A massive fireball, radiating intense heat, charged towards me.
‘Surely, he’s not called an A-rank mage for nothing.’
Baek Jooseok had been struck directly by my magic multiple times.
For a mage with low durability, sustaining this much damage should have been enough to knock him out.
I guessed that with each hit from my attacks, Baek Jooseok instinctively used mana to protect his body.
It was surprising to see him unleashing A-rank and even S-rank skills.
Typically, an A-rank mage would quickly exhaust their mana after using just one or two S-rank spells that were beyond their level.
But Baek Jooseok had followed up [S] Blizzard with [S] Hellfire despite sustaining massive damage. People would probably be impressed by this display.
‘But it doesn’t matter. I’m stronger.’
I cast [S] Hellfire back at Baek Jooseok.
The Hellfires clashed, creating a tremendous shockwave. As a result, Baek Jooseok’s flames were extinguished, and my fire struck him in an instant.
“Gaaaaah! Shit! Damnit!”
Baek Jooseok rolled around in agony, engulfed in flames. He no longer acknowledged those around him, cursing loudly.
As I released the spell, Baek Jooseok was freed from the flames.
Blood flowed from his eyes, and horrific burns covered his body.
“Y-you… do you think you can get away with this…?”
“Shut up, you’re dying!”
I kicked Baek Jooseok with force.
He spat out a mouthful of blood.
I leaned down and whispered to the collapsed Baek Jooseok, clutching his abdomen on the ground.
“Why did you act up, you piece of shit? You worthless bug, what gave you the confidence to torment me like that?”
I kicked him in the abdomen once more, and he groaned in pain.
“P-please… spare me… I… I made a mistake…”
Ignoring his pleas, I kicked the same spot again.
“Grrr… please… if you do this more… I might really… die…”
I disregarded his words and continued to beat him mercilessly.
This bastard, who turned me into a criminal in an instant while I was innocently working as an instructor at the academy.
Even though he didn’t know my identity, he treated me like some amateur trash when I was acting as a masked instructor.
My rage couldn’t be satisfied with just a few hits; the relentless beating went on for a long time.
After countless strikes, Baek Jooseok lay on the ground, a mere rag.
‘Shit… no matter how much I hit him, it doesn’t relieve my anger.’
Thinking that if I hit him more, he might really die, I finally stopped.
‘This bastard can’t die here. I need him to witness the downfall of the academy he desperately tried to protect. After today’s battle, I will take away his power, status, and everything he has built.’
Since Baek Jooseok had pinned the blame for everything on Baek Hyunseo and destroyed my life, I would take everything from him in return.
“Haah…”
I sighed and turned to face the judge.
“Make your decision. He’s in a state of combat incapacity.”
The judge was fidgeting, unable to make a decision.
‘Damn it. Did that bastard bribe the judge too?’
It was strange that even while being mercilessly beaten, the judge hadn’t declared Baek Jooseok’s defeat. It seemed that the scumbag had even managed to buy off the judge.
I spoke to the judge in a cold voice.
“Can’t you see Baek Jooseok in this state? I remember your face, but you don’t know mine. Do you want to live the rest of your life in fear?”
“Th-the winner… is… the mask…”
Just as the judge trembled and was about to declare, a chill magic began to rise from where Baek Jooseok lay.
‘That crazy bastard. Is he really going to use that?’
A dark energy flickered from the gem on his staff. Baek Jooseok activated the dark artifact.
“I’ll kill you… Did you really think you could live after humiliating me like this…?”
Baek Jooseok shouted as if he had lost his mind.
I scoffed and replied, “Using a dark artifact in a spar? Once this battle is over, it won’t end with a simple punishment for you.”
Baek Jooseok, now seemingly out of his mind, mumbled, “I don’t care… You’ll die before that happens…”
I retorted, “Do you really think you can beat me just by borrowing the power of a dark artifact?”
Then, Baek Jooseok quietly began to chant a spell. It was dark magic.
[???] Soul Extraction – Consumes vitality to cast spells more powerful than what he could normally use.
Suddenly, absurd magic began to gather around him, and with a face full of madness, he shouted the spell.
“Meteor!”
[SS] Meteor – A gigantic meteor engulfed in hellfire falls from the sky.
Panic erupted among the people around us.
“Everyone, evacuate!”
“Run! We might all die!”
“Mages, prepare your defensive magic! Damn it!”
As Baek Jooseok watched the falling meteor, he started laughing maniacally.
“Damn you. You’re dying here today.”
I shouted back at the overconfident Baek Jooseok.
“You idiot. After using a dark artifact and even spending your vitality, that’s all you can come up with?”
“Stop bragging… You could never use an SS-rank spell in your lifetime…!”
As the massive meteor fell at an insane speed, I said, “Oh really? Too bad. I can use it without dark magic.”
I stretched my hand to the sky and chanted.
“Meteor!”
