Chapter 22: A Suspicious Entry and an Unexpected Savior

Seyul had unintentionally caused a misunderstanding among his own allies.

He considered clearing up the confusion, but there was no time.

<Level Up!>

A strange system message appeared.

His level had increased.

The moment Seyul saw that message, he flinched.

“This game… had level-ups?!”

Completely unaware of this fact, Seyul covered his mouth in genuine shock.

The viewers watching were utterly dumbfounded.

[Is he serious?]

[Wait, are you telling me he didn’t even know the game had level-ups?!]

[Is this guy an idiot or what?]

[How do you not know the most basic mechanic?]

[Was he planning to clear the game without leveling up…?]

[I mean, maybe he can do it, but normal players can’t!]

[You can’t fight high-level monsters without leveling up! They’re practically walking tanks!]

The chat was filled with frustration over Seyul’s ignorance of such a fundamental game mechanic.

However, there was a reason for his misunderstanding.

He had already slain quite a few enemies up until now.

Yet, since his level never increased, he had assumed there was no leveling system in the game.

This was due to the unique way “God’s Warrior” handled experience points.

Killing low-level monsters, no matter how strong they were, gave little to no experience.

That was precisely why the Drain skill existed.

A system designed for mass slaughter, absorbing corpses, and leveling up efficiently.

However, Seyul had never learned Drain and had fought his way here without it.

And now, for the first time, he had defeated a high-level monster that actually provided significant experience.

That was why he was only now experiencing his first level-up.

“I do feel a little stronger.”

He assessed his body, checking how much he had improved.

‘Hmm… I’d say I’m about as strong as a seasoned mana user now.’

Mana User.

A term used in this world to refer to warriors who wielded special energies.

To differentiate them from mages, they called their magic power mana.

When a warrior became a mana user, they could unleash superhuman abilities.

An average mana user could take on a hundred enemies alone, making them practically walking weapons.

Seyul’s current power was now on par with an experienced mana user.

He was capable of fighting against multiple mana users at once, potentially even overwhelming them.

In terms of game levels, he had reached Level 2, which, in real-world hunter rankings, would be roughly equivalent to D-rank.

[Is this guy about to turn into an even bigger killing machine?]

[He was already mowing down everything at Level 1.]

Viewers who understood the game’s mechanics expressed a mix of fear and anticipation.

Meanwhile.

<You bastard!>

The God of Fire, who had been thoroughly humiliated as a “summoned creature,” was absolutely livid.

<Are you insane?! How dare you disgrace me, a god, like this?!>

Fuming with rage, he bellowed at Seyul.

But Seyul simply looked at him with a curious expression.

“Then why didn’t you just leave?”

<…What?>

“If it was so humiliating, you could have just left, right? You gods appear and disappear whenever you feel like it.”

Seyul found it strange.

His impromptu “baiting the Fire God” strategy had a clear flaw

Gods could teleport at will, so he should have just left if he wanted to avoid the humiliation.

But instead, he had stayed and played along.

That meant… there had to be a reason.

And now, after all that, he was suddenly calling it disgraceful?

<…Uh.>

Hearing that, the Fire God froze for a moment.

For a long time, he simply stared at Seyul in silence.

“What? Why are you looking at me like that?”

<…>

“OF?”

<D-Don’t say another word! Shut up!>

The Fire God had been speechless only to suddenly lash out in anger.

At that moment, everyone watching realized the truth.

[Wait… he never thought of that?!]

[Is he actually stupid?]

[Fire God: ‘Oh shit, I could’ve just left.’]

[LMAO he never even considered running away!]

[Turns out the Fire God is actually just an idiot.]

[So we have the short-tempered Water God who hands out power boosts when he’s mad, and now the dumbass Fire God.]

[These gods have way more personality than I expected.]

[LOL!]

[Today’s chaos is peak entertainment.]

Suddenly, large donation messages popped up in the chat.

<Wildlife Kingdom has donated 120,000 won.>

<Kaere has donated 50,000 won.>

The viewers were roaring with laughter

And they were willing to pay for more of this ridiculous spectacle.

As everyone was laughing, the Fire God did something even more ridiculous.

[It’s your fault! My mind went blank because you suddenly said something weird. It’s not because I’m stupid!]

Blaming Seyul out of nowhere—

“Aren’t you thinking too negatively? Don’t get so worked up and listen to me. ”

“Regardless of how it happened, thanks to your struggles, we were able to take down the monsters you despise so much

with ease. From the perspective of a god who protects humans, it’s not exactly a loss, is it?”

[Is that so…?]

The Fire God, who had been furious, almost fell for Seyul’s sweet talk.

[Hahahaha!]

[Are you trying to kill us with laughter?]

The image the Fire God had built up crumbled in an instant.

The viewers didn’t know this, but this was the Fire God’s true nature.

No one had ever provoked the gods enough to make them show this much emotion except for Seyul.

[I’m… I’m not falling for it!]

But the Fire God wasn’t entirely foolish. He barely managed to snap out of it.

[Stop trying to confuse me with your nonsense! Do you even realize what you’ve done?]

[ We gods are not supposed to interfere with this world so recklessly. But because of you, that rule was almost

broken. This is a grave sin…]

“Then what about the Water God strengthening the monster I was fighting?”

Seyul’s sudden question cut him off just as he was about to lecture.

The Fire God blinked in confusion, not immediately grasping what he meant.

[What did you say?]

“You didn’t know? The Water God gave power to the monster I was fighting just because I wouldn’t listen.”

[Don’t be ridiculous! There’s no way the Water God would do something so reckless and brainless!]

But it had actually happened.

As Seyul explained the situation in detail, the Fire God looked even more flustered than when he had been chased earlier.

[That’s a lie! The Water God would never do that! When he talked to me, all he said was that you were an evil bastard!]

“If you don’t believe me, why don’t you go ask him yourself?”

[Fine! You think I can’t? If it’s not true, I’ll bet my own hand on it! And if you’re lying, I won’t let you off easily!]

With a threat, the Fire God disappeared.

He had meant to intimidate Seyul, but—

‘Good, the annoying one is gone before things got troublesome.’

In the end, he had just removed himself from the equation.

Seyul, having successfully talked the Fire God away, approached the lower-rank monsters that had survived thanks to him.

Not just Koras, but even the hostile ones were looking at Seyul differently now—

As if witnessing something beyond comprehension.

He spoke to them indifferently.

“These guys are dead. Do whatever you want with the corpses.”

“O-Oh, got it.”

Leaving the disposal of the high-rank monsters’ corpses to them, Koras instinctively responded.

“We really owe you our lives.”

Wiping the cold sweat from his forehead, Koras expressed his gratitude.

“I’d like to repay you somehow, but there’s nothing left in this village. Do you want to at least have a meal before you go?”

“No need. Just tell me which direction that city is the one these guys came from.”

When Seyul asked, Koras pointed in a direction.

“Over there. Why?”

“Thinking about stopping by.”

“For what?”

“Just because.”

Seyul spoke casually.

He wasn’t planning to wipe out the city or anything.

It just seemed better than wandering around an empty wasteland.

But Koras, who didn’t understand Seyul’s nature, misunderstood.

He assumed Seyul was heading there to help.

“…I should probably try to stop you, but after seeing your skills, I won’t bother.”

Still convinced Seyul was some extraordinary summoner, Koras decided not to interfere.

“Once again, thank you. We may not have anything to offer you, but we will spread your story far and wide the tale of a hero who fought for us despite being human!”

To Koras, Seyul was a rare hero one who protected monsters despite being human.

“Do whatever you want.”

Koras was moved, but Seyul couldn’t care less.

Without looking back, he left the village.

[He’s misunderstanding so badly!]

[He’s not a hero! He’s just an absolute menace!]

The viewers, who knew what kind of person Seyul truly was, burst into laughter.

The city was closer than expected.

For player convenience, location transitions were smooth.

A journey that should take three days couldn’t actually last that long it wouldn’t be good game design.

Thanks to that, Seyul arrived quicker than expected and curiously observed the city before him.

‘This city reminds me of the ones I’ve seen in isekai stories.’

A mix of medieval aesthetics with unexpectedly advanced elements.

The atmosphere was straight out of a fantasy world, reinforcing the sense of otherworldliness.

Feeling a strange sense of nostalgia, Seyul walked toward the city.

“Good work.”

At the city entrance, a low-ranking monster stood guard.

Seyul casually greeted the guards as she passed.

“Yes.”

“Thanks.”

The guards instinctively returned the greeting—

“…Hey.”

“Stop right there!”

—before suddenly coming to their senses and blocking her path in alarm.

She had walked in so naturally and confidently that they had greeted her without thinking. But this wasn’t a normal situation.

A breathtakingly beautiful human, dressed in s*ave garb and carrying a spear, was boldly walking in as if she owned the place.

“Who the hell are you, human?!”

“Do you think you can just walk in here like this?!”

The guards pointed their spears at Seyul, demanding answers.

Her response was simple.

“This is a game I paid for! Why the hell shouldn’t I be able to go wherever I want?!”

She was getting irritated. Everywhere she went, something was blocking her way.

The guards’ confused reaction caused the chat window to stir.

[Well, yeah. She paid for the game, so she should go wherever she wants.]

[That’s true. It is, but…]

[You can’t say that to low-level mobs!]

From the perspective of a paying player, it was a natural complaint.

But to the NPC monsters, her words sounded like utter nonsense, completely out of sync with their worldview.

“What the hell are you talking about?!”

“You’re resisting, aren’t you?!”

“Everyone, gather around! A suspicious human is trying to enter!”

The guards, treating her like some kind of anomaly, began calling for reinforcements.

In an instant, about a dozen more gathered, and the commotion drew the attention of other monsters, who started approaching to watch.

‘Why the hell won’t this game let me just walk into places?’

Surrounded by monsters, Seyul grumbled.

Most games would at least let you rest when you entered a town.

If this weren’t the “Warrior of God” extreme difficulty mode, it probably would have been the same here.

The only one she could blame for this mess was her prankster little sister.

Just as Seyul was debating whether to kill the guards or not

“Wuhyohyo  What the hell do you think you’re doing to my s*ave~?”

A strange, exaggerated laugh cut in as someone approached.

A delinquent with golden hair.

That phrase alone perfectly described the man.

Blond hair, tanned skin.

A handsome face but with an utterly obnoxious attitude.

“You trying to get yourself killed, huh?”

The blond delinquent spoke with a perpetual sneer.

“Gasp!”

“Lord Osman!”

The guards visibly stiffened, addressing him with utmost respect.

“T-This woman is your s*ave, Lord Osman?”

“Obviously. Who else but an alpha male like me could own a woman like this? I just sent her on a quick errand, and you’re here causing a fuss?”

“…Huh?”

Osman suddenly appeared and claimed Seyul as his s*ave.

‘Who the hell is this guy?’

Hearing such nonsense from a complete stranger, Seyul was dumbfounded.

As she stared at him in disbelief, Osman stepped closer.

“Pya-pya! Damn, your body is still as hot as ever. I especially love how, despite having a small chest, your curves are still so feminine.”

Grinning wickedly, Osman reached out to put his hand on her shoulder without permission.

Seyul was about to smack his hand away when—

“I apologize for saying strange things. I’m trying to save you, so please play along. I’ve been waiting for you.”

Osman’s demeanor shifted instantly as he whispered discreetly.
