Do you know who I am?

Chapter 22 • 1,531 words • 13 min read

Lin Muze had reached his limit.

He felt that if he stayed any longer, he would do something irrational.

He stood up, wanting to flee the bathroom, but his hand was gripped tightly.

Lu Ran’s dazed eyes stared at him.

Lin Muze tried to pry his hand free, but was yanked down instead, and their lips met.

Lu Ran clumsily tried to force Lin Muze’s mouth open.

Lin Muze pushed his face away, staring at him fiercely, his eyes burning with fire. “Lu Ran, do you know who I am?”

Lu Ran’s hand covered his face.

His overly red, seductive lips parted and closed, slowly uttering his name: “Lin Muze.”

In the apartment, Gu Yanzhou had bathed Su Nanxing and carried him to the bed.

Without a word, he applied medicine to the back of his hand.

On the way back from Qiuming Mountain, Gu Yanzhou hadn’t spoken a single word to him.

Later, he was too tired and fell asleep.

When he woke up, he was in the bathtub.

Gu Yanzhou pressed the cotton ball firmly against the wound, and Su Nanxing cried out in pain, his voice tinged with a whine: “Ssshh! It hurts!”

Gu Yanzhou put the medicine back into the kit. “Now you know it hurts?”

Su Nanxing lowered his head, like a child who had done something wrong.

Gu Yanzhou patted his head. “From now on, if you want to teach someone a lesson, just tell me. I’ll worry if you get hurt.”

A warmth surged in Su Nanxing’s heart.

Gu Yanzhou was worried about him!

Besides his mother, besides Lu Ran, now there was Gu Yanzhou who would worry about him.

His world now had Gu Yanzhou.

He reached out and hugged Gu Yanzhou’s waist, tears streaming silently.

Gu Yanzhou’s hand was scalded by the hot tears.

He wanted to push him away, but was held tightly.

Su Nanxing didn’t want him to see.

After who knows how long, the breathing of the person in his arms gradually steadied.

He was fast asleep.

Gu Yanzhou tucked him into the covers and turned to leave.

He pulled open the door and spoke in a low voice to the outside: “Come in.”

A-Kai slipped in from the darkness.

He handed Gu Yanzhou two USB drives. “President Gu, this one is from the racetrack tonight, the USB drive Lu Ran wanted to get from He Feng. I copied the original from his computer. The other one is today’s surveillance footage from Qiuming Mountain.”

Gu Yanzhou hadn’t planned to look at the USB drive Lu Ran wanted, because he didn’t care about other people’s affairs.

But after watching the surveillance video from Qiuming Mountain, his bloodshot eyes gleamed with murderous ferocity.

He was sure the other USB drive definitely contained something detrimental to Su Nanxing.

He sent A-Kai out before opening that USB drive.

Inside were two videos.

The first was set in the hotel where Old Master He’s birthday banquet was held.

Su Nanxing was in the lounge, writhing in agony.

Only then did Gu Yanzhou understand that Su Nanxing had been drugged that day.

Only someone from the He family could have openly drugged him at Old Master He’s birthday banquet.

At the end of the video, Lu Ran pushed open the door anxiously. “Xingxing, what’s wrong? That bastard He Feng! Come on, I’ll take you to the hospital!”

Gu Yanzhou thought, if he hadn’t been guarding the lounge that day, the one who would have gone in would have been He Feng.

The second video was in a hotel room.

Su Nanxing, again with a pained expression, lay in bed.

The quiet scene suddenly shook, followed by two arguing voices.

“He Feng, you can’t touch him yet! Otherwise, my dad will skin me alive!”

“Su Hao, I’m just having a little fun. I won’t do anything to him. Your dad won’t find out. Such an exquisite beauty, it would be a waste to give him to that old man!”

“No!”

“Damn it! Then I’ll just take some videos, okay?”

As they argued, a knock came from the door, followed by the sound of the door being forced open.

Lu Ran entered with the police.

Gu Yanzhou stared at the video on the screen, his knuckles white.

The phone in his hand was nearly crushed.

His eyes were ice-cold, his murderous aura surging.

The pressure around him was terrifying, and even his breath carried an unstoppable fury.

A cigarette dangled between Gu Yanzhou’s fingers.

The flickering light illuminated his cold, hard profile, devoid of any warmth.

He slowly exhaled a puff of smoke, his voice low and chilled like tempered steel.

He spoke calmly into the phone: “I want them to wish they were dead.”

“All of them.”

His tone was flat, yet carried the savage cruelty of a King of Hell.

Every word was infused with a world-ending coldness.

Death, for those people, was the cheapest escape.

If it weren’t for Lu Ran saving him, Gu Yanzhou might never have had the chance to meet Su Nanxing.

Two months ago, when Su Nanxing said he wanted to leave Jiangcheng, Gu Yanzhou thought it was just an ordinary family power struggle.

But he never imagined that if Su Nanxing didn’t leave Jiangcheng, he would be devoured down to his bones at any moment.

Su Bingtian was unworthy of being a father.

Early morning.

When Lu Ran woke up, a slender arm was draped over his waist.

The soreness all over his body made him break out in a cold sweat.

He turned over, and the pain intensified.

He looked at the arm on his waist, the messy clothes strewn on the floor, and his mind instantly flashed back to last night.

He must have been drugged, feeling terrible, and in the end, he had begged Lin Muze to help him.

So he had slept with Lin Muze.

In his mind, he cursed He Feng’s ancestors for eighteen generations, wishing them a horrible death!

Truly despicable!

He forced himself to sit up, but that woke the person behind him.

“You’re awake?” Lin Muze, still sleepy, rubbed his eyes and yawned.

Lu Ran hummed softly in response, quickly pulling away from him.

Lin Muze was annoyed by his cold reaction. “Hey! Don’t treat me like this. Last night, you…”

Lu Ran cut him off. “I know. I begged you. Thank you for your help. You can leave now. I won’t cling to you.”

Lin Muze was stunned for a long moment before he realized: He had been used as a one-time tool?

Used and discarded?

When had the young master Lin ever suffered such humiliation?

All the handsome men and beautiful women at the night banquet had always flattered and begged him.

Furious, he picked up the clothes from the floor, threw them on haphazardly, and left the bedroom.

With a bang, he was gone.

Lu Ran got up and went to the bathroom.

He looked at his reflection in the mirror and couldn’t bear to see himself.

Lin Muze must be a dog.

He changed into a loose pair of loungewear, picked up his phone, and called Su Nanxing.

– “Hello… Lu Ran? What’s up?” Su Nanxing’s voice was a bit breathless.

– “Mm. I got the USB drive from He Feng. They won’t be able to threaten you anymore.”

Su Nanxing was reminded of those terrible things.

Lost in thought for a moment, he was invaded.

“… Mmm!”

He covered his mouth, glaring resentfully at the person behind him, his eyes warning him not to move.

– “Xingxing? What’s wrong?” Lu Ran’s voice came through the phone, anxious.

– “I… I’m fine. Lu Ran, thank you! The USB drive—destroy it for me.”

– “Okay. When are you coming back to the capital?”

– “This afternoon. Do you… do you want to come back together?”

– “I’ll come in a couple of days. I’ll just visit home.” Lu Ran’s voice was laced with exhaustion.

Su Nanxing wanted to ask him if he had something to do in Jiangcheng, but someone was displeased.

Su Nanxing was thrust hard, and the phone slipped from his hand, landing by the bed.

Gu Yanzhou kept his position, reaching down to grab the phone.

Su Nanxing’s pupils dilated.

He desperately grabbed the bedsheets and bit down hard on Gu Yanzhou’s arm to keep from screaming.

Gu Yanzhou picked up the phone and replied on Su Nanxing’s behalf.

– “I’ll hang up now.”

Lu Ran was stunned by the sudden deep voice.

He stared at the disconnected call and only after a long moment realized what he had heard early in the morning.

In the living room, Su Nanxing looked at the bleeding bite mark on Gu Yanzhou’s arm, his face full of concern. “I’m sorry. I won’t bite you that hard again.”

Gu Yanzhou looked at the mark on his arm, feeling immensely pleased. “It’s fine. I like it.”

Su Nanxing rolled his eyes at him. “Who likes being bitten?”

Gu Yanzhou saw that the applied medicine had dried, so he pulled down his rolled-up sleeve, drew Su Nanxing into his arms, hugged him, leaned back on the sofa, and said with a look of reminiscence: “I think it’s pretty good.”
