Where did Burnstein disappear to?

Only the shadows would know the answer.

“OO”

A natural groan escaped my lips.

With Burnstein gone, the wire that had bound me lost its tension.

Sizzle!

Of course, the wire didn’t just fall off because the tension was gone.

I frowned deeply as I untangled the wire wrapped around my body.

The first part I started to free was my neck.

Once I removed the suffocating wire, I could breathe easier.

If I had made a mistake, my body and head would have been separated.

The condition of my arms and legs wasn’t good either.

The wire had cut into my flesh and severed tendons, leaving my hands and feet powerless. I sat on the floor and poured a red potion over my wounds.

Sizzle-

As new flesh bubbled up, I slowly moved my hands and feet.

They were definitely stronger than before.

I used up all the potions I had, but I wasn’t fully healed.

I steadied my staggering body and slowly stood up.

Seeing the black, dead blood on the floor, I realized just how much blood I had lost. How should I replenish the lost blood?

I licked the sharp fangs in my mouth and smiled slightly.

“This way!”

As soon as Charlotte left, Aurel and Hwanggu began to move quickly.

Their military tent was completely destroyed by bombs flying in from all directions.

Hwanggu led Aurel.

Faint but clear, her forgotten memories started to surface.

Hwanggu denied the memories that kept coming back as she ran.

Boom-!

Bang!

Bang-!

Explosions and ear-piercing gunfire.

Mixed with screams and shouts.

Flames rising everywhere and the smell of gunpowder stinging her nose.

The peaceful werewolf camp was quickly overturned.

But it wasn’t just the werewolves suffering.

Some werewolves, using partial transformations, charged at the enemies and howled while holding the bodies of dead human users.

Howl~

Hwanggu flinched at the howling.

Her werewolf instincts were triggered.

The faint memories grew stronger.

“Hwanggu!”

“Yes!”

But what was important to Hwanggu was not the hazy memories, but Charlotte’s request.

Charlotte’s request to protect Aurel was absolute for Hwanggu.

Having joined the group with Charlotte, Hwanggu recognized and followed Charlotte as the leader.

The place where Hwanggu and Aurel arrived was a small container behind the camp.

There were blackened marks from the bomb’s impact, but the container itself was intact. Aurel and Hwanggu naturally hid inside.

“Hoo…”

Aurel sighed and sat down, seemingly convinced of the safety of the container.

In contrast, Hwanggu perked up her large ears and kept watch through the window.

It was a situation where enemies could approach at any moment. Hwanggu’s vigilance was a natural reaction.

At that moment, Hwanggu’s eyes caught a movement outside.

A man in black clothes was climbing over the camp’s fence and entering.

He had no visible traits indicating he was a werewolf. Carrying a long gun on his back, he was evidently a human user, not a vampire or werewolf.

“Grr…”

Hwanggu bared her teeth, displaying strong hostility.

The reason for Hwanggu’s hostility was simple.

The man now visible was strong.

That was all there was to it.

And this man was approaching the container.

His low stance and cautious movements were evident.

A long black sword in one hand moved like a shadow.

Hwanggu sniffed, gathering information about the man.

Unlike other humans, he had a faint gunpowder smell but a strong scent of blood.

This indicated his preferred combat style was close combat.

Hwanggu carefully shifted her position.

Her large wolf ears stood erect to better catch the sounds outside the container.

Hwanggu positioned herself in front of the container door, ready to attack the moment it opened.

“Hwanggu…?”

“Grr…”

Hwanggu had no time to respond to Aurel’s call.

She was entirely focused on the figure outside. Even at this moment, Hwanggu’s forgotten memories were resurfacing.

And at that moment.

Click-

The container door handle rattled and slowly turned.

The door was opening.

Bang!

As Hwanggu’s small legs pushed off the ground, the spot she stood on dented, shaking the container.

Hwanggu shot out like a cannonball.

She hit the half-open container door and leaped outside.

Roar-!

Outside, Hwanggu quickly scanned her surroundings.

The human user, slightly pushed by the container door, looked startled by the sudden impact.

Hwanggu and the human user locked eyes.

There was no need for words between them.

They only showed strong hostility and intent to kill towards each other.

The first to move was the human user.

He drew a pistol from his waist and quickly aimed at Hwanggu, pulling the trigger.

Bang! Bang!

Two shots in quick succession.

As the white flashes of the bullets cut through the air,

Hwanggu started to run on all fours, flat on the ground.

Thud! Thud!

A swift charge.

Her tail swayed as she ran through the darkness, striking fear into the human user.

The moment she leaped out of the container, she had already completed her partial transformation, needing no further preparation.

Hwanggu trusted her physical abilities as she swung her fist at the opponent.

Whoosh!

Her small fist cut through the air.

But the impact created by that punch was far from light.

Clang!

The punch that extended straight hit a solid blade.

The human user quickly moved his hand to block the attack.

However, he couldn’t withstand the force behind Hwanggu’s punch and staggered backward.

Of course, Hwanggu didn’t miss the opportunity.

She continued her relentless charge, pushing off the ground.

Hwanggu’s onslaught continued without slowing down.

Sometimes she used her claws, other times she extended her legs.

Her attacks, driven by instinct, had no fixed pattern.

Whoosh! Clang!

Thud!

Clang!

After dozens of exchanges,

the human user and Hwanggu widened the distance and had a brief standoff.

“Grr…!”

Hwanggu bared her teeth and raised her claws.

Despite her all-out attack, not a single effective hit landed.

This meant her opponent calmly fended off all her attacks.

The human user, [Cheonhwi], also focused all his energy.

Several times, he faced attacks that could have taken his life if he wasn’t careful.

He had infiltrated to rescue the humans trapped inside, but it seemed he triggered a bomb.

Cheonhwi felt cold sweat running down his back.

“Grrr…”

Cheonhwi cautiously moved with his sword aimed.

He knew the fight could resume at any moment, despite the brief respite.

At that moment.

Cheonhwi’s keen hearing picked up a faint rustling sound.

Inside the container.

Someone was inside.

Glancing over, he noticed that the werewolf he was fighting also seemed concerned about the container.

If they continued to fight, he would die.

Cheonhwi decided to take a gamble.

“Haah!”

With a strong yell, Cheonhwi began his charge.

Hwanggu also prepared to fight at Cheonhwi’s yell, but Cheonhwi suddenly changed direction as he ran forward.

He headed for the container behind.

“No!”

Hwanggu screamed as she watched.

Aurel was inside the container.

Though she didn’t have precise information, Hwanggu knew that Aurel wasn’t very strong.

A human like Cheonhwi could easily take Aurel’s life.

Hwanggu leaped into the container, but Cheonhwi was faster.

“Hwanggu…”

Her friend, Aurel, was held by the human.

A dark muzzle was pointed at her head.

That was the scene Hwanggu encountered when she entered the container.

“Sigh…”

Cheonhwi sighed as he looked at the dejected werewolf girl.

The gamble had paid off, Cheonhwi thought.

Though he disliked taking hostages, he would do anything to achieve his goal.

“Step back.”

“Grr…”

Hwanggu had no choice but to retreat at Cheonhwi’s threat.

The distance slowly increased.

Eventually, Hwanggu and Cheonhwi stood at opposite ends of the container, facing each other.

How should I resolve this situation? Hwanggu rubbed his small, soft cheeks vigorously.

Hwanggu, who had lost her memory, had no knowledge to overcome this situation.

At that moment, Hwanggu and Aurel, who were in agony, met eyes.

Aurel had a slight smile on her lips.

It was not an expression that a hostage would make.

Cheonhwi slowly walked towards Hwanggu and said, “Don’t even think about it. If you move even a little, this guy’s head will fly off.”

“Do it.”

A small girl’s voice was heard at that moment.

Cheonhwi widened his eyes, wondering if he had heard wrong.

“Do it.”

But he hadn’t heard wrong. Cheonhwi looked down at the small girl he was holding.

Even though the muzzle was touching her head, she didn’t show any sign of panic.

At that moment, a sense of foreboding was felt.

Cheonhwi swallowed dryly and looked at the werewolf Hwanggu.

He was preparing to charge at any moment.

Her leg muscles tensed, and her sharp claws dug into the ground.

“Damn it-”

The curse naturally flowed out as he realized the situation.

Cheonhwi hurriedly moved his hand and pulled the trigger.

Even if he died right now, it was a choice to reduce the number of werewolves by one more.

Bang-!

Just as the muzzle burst into flames, the girl’s body suddenly began to scatter.

The red, blooming mist looked like flower petals.

Cheonhwi looked at the red mist and muttered, “Damn it…”

It was only then that Cheonhwi realized that the one he had captured was not a werewolf.

Crash! That was the last scene Cheonhwi remembered.

“Charlotte!” “Charlotte!”

Right after the situation was roughly sorted out, I smiled brightly at the two girls running towards me.

“Look at this!” Hwanggu, who was running quickly, pulled out a large object from behind her back.

It was a limp human.

Judging by the way the arms and legs were bent in bizarre directions, it seemed that Hwanggu had personally twisted them.

I frowned and checked the information of the target.

[Cheonhwi]

Level: 19

Race: Human

Health: 25%

Mana: 70%

Emotional State: Unconscious

Why is this guy here…?

I frowned as I looked at the familiar nickname.

Hwanggu was called “him” “he” or “his” multible times this chapter, despite being female. At the start of her POV she was also called “Yellow Dog” which I assume is what her name translates too.
