The Arrival of the Magic Sword

Chapter 22 • 1,285 words • 11 min read

“Oh dear, why do you make me sound so dreadful? I merely bestowed joy upon those lovely girls; they were quite grateful to me~”

Isabella chuckled, covering her mouth, as if recounting a deed worthy of pride.

“You charlatan, preying on people’s hearts! Magical Girls won’t let you continue to gloat!”

Although her strength was inferior to Isabella’s, Night Moon refused to be outdone in a war of words. Her eyes, as clear and captivating as emeralds, constantly radiated the glow of justice and courage, truly embodying the ideal Magical Girl.

Ah~ it’s coming~

A thrilling surge of excitement welled up within Isabella. That little fox was of great use to the witches and couldn’t be trifled with, a fact she had initially found quite regrettable. However, this Magical Girl before her was different. Isabella was already eagerly anticipating the sight of such a righteous Magical Girl, once dominated by base desires, devolving into a depraved beast. The fall of such a rising star was akin to a meteor striking her most sensitive spot, making her unable to conceal her delight.

“Then come and prove it to me! It’s been so long since I’ve seen such a pure Magical Girl like you~”

Isabella’s aura erupted with immense power, the might of her dark energy clearly incomparable to Xiaolan’s earlier display.

Should I fight with everything I have? Will I win?

Night Moon couldn’t predict the outcome; even a lucky escape was questionable. Yet, if she were to be so easily intimidated, she wouldn’t be Magical Girl Wolf Fang.

Go!

Just as Night Moon pushed off the ground, surging forward, the disdain on Isabella’s face abruptly vanished, replaced by panic tinged with fear, and her entire aura instantly shriveled.

She’s scared? But how could that be?

Even as Night Moon pondered, a crimson sword light, potent enough to cleave through space itself, slashed towards Isabella, forcing her to gather all her dark energy in defense. However, beneath that radiant blade, all defenses were effortlessly shredded as if made of paper, ultimately striking Isabella’s abdomen and leaving a deep gash.

“It’s you! How are you here! Damn it!”

Clutching her wound in agony, Isabella’s face twisted, alternating between pale and green. Following her gaze, Night Moon saw the person who had unleashed the sword light.

“Tia-senpai!”

All fear dissipated like smoke, and Night Moon felt herself enveloped in a boundless sense of security. This was Tia-senpai, the Magic Sword! Her unique demon-slaying power struck fear into all monsters and witches. Her might remained undiminished whether in ranged or close combat, possessing both speed and strength in one terrifying package.

Night Moon had always looked up to Tia-senpai as her ultimate goal. Yet, upon witnessing her true form in battle, Night Moon couldn’t help but feel a profound sense of inadequacy, finding it impossible to ever truly measure up.

Furthermore, she noticed another familiar figure standing beside Tia.

“Chloe? What’s wrong with you?”

Since Tia-senpai was here, the battle was no longer Night Moon’s concern. She gazed at the blonde girl whose face was flushed with an unusual redness, then rushed over with concern.

Chloe’s current state was far from ideal.

Immediately after Isabella’s sudden departure, Tia appeared, as if she had been watching all along, deliberately waiting for this precise moment to reveal herself.

I hope that’s just an illusion.

Just thinking about what had happened afterward made Chloe’s legs turn to jelly. Still, it had been unavoidable. Only through that could she escape such a depraved state; otherwise, Chloe might have drowned in herself. She had currently deactivated her transformation, and fortunately, the fox ears and tail had vanished with it. Otherwise, Chloe truly couldn’t imagine how she would live with those two peculiar appendages.

Not yet fully recovered from the intense stimulation, Chloe took deep breaths to maintain her composure. Yet, her porcelain-white calves still trembled uncontrollably, her leg muscles ached, and her clothes and hair were disheveled, as if something strange had happened to her.

“I… after seeing you and Xiaolan fighting, went home to call Tia. I just accidentally tripped and fell, that’s all. Don’t worry about it too much.” Chloe explained, her voice inexplicably a little hoarse, as soft and delicate as fine sand.

Night Moon seemed to recall something, and an untimely blush spread across her face.

“Ahem… then we truly owe it to you, Chloe.”

“Hehe… it’s what I should do. Night Moon is a friend, after all; how could I possibly stand by and do nothing?”

Suddenly feeling the other’s gaze fall upon her reddened knees, Chloe cursed the culprit inwardly, yet maintained a faint, nonchalant smile on her face.

What a little angel! It must have hurt terribly when she fell. It’s truly not easy for an ordinary little girl to do something like this!

Night Moon knelt down with tender pity, gently caressing Chloe’s knees.

“It hurts, doesn’t it? The skin’s even scraped a little.”

“It doesn’t hurt.”

It still hurts quite a bit! That detestable Tia, why did she insist on such a bizarre position? What a perverted fetish! Didn’t she know the grass over there was so coarse? How could her delicate skin possibly endure that!

While Tia’s attention was fixed on Isabella, Chloe secretly shot her a glare, her small hand itching to give her a hard pinch, but she hesitated and ultimately gave up. The thought of herself lying on the grass like a puppy filled Chloe with immense shame, and her breathing grew somewhat ragged.

What a depraved body; to actually feel so good in that situation… and to want more… to be pressed down so tightly… without any human rights, used as an object without mercy… Hehe~

Chloe instinctively lowered her head, lest anyone see her flushed little face. Her golden eyes seemed to sparkle with the shape of hearts once more.

So strange! So strange! So strange! My brain’s going to melt!

Night Moon couldn’t discern the expression on the delicate, timid face hidden in the shadows, only sensing an inexplicable strangeness emanating from her.

“Chloe, are you alright?”

Assuming the girl was frightened, Night Moon stood up and gently embraced Chloe, her hand reaching behind Chloe’s head to pat her reassuringly.

“Don’t be afraid. You have Tia-senpai and me here~”

Catching sight of Night Moon’s presumptuous action from the corner of her eye, Tia felt a strange flicker of dissatisfaction, as if her personal belongings were being toyed with, which made her deeply uncomfortable. However, it wasn’t the time to say anything. She would settle this score with Chloe once they were home.

Chloe, living with Tia, keenly sensed her emotional fluctuations and couldn’t help but inwardly rejoice, a crescent moon almost forming at the corner of her lips.

Hehe~ You’re annoyed, aren’t you~ I’ll just keep annoying you~ If you’re so capable, then punish her severely~

Chloe suddenly felt very happy, unsure if it was simply because she could annoy Tia, or because of the consequences such actions would bring upon her later.

In any case, I’m just so happy~

Chloe brushed the strands of hair that had fallen across her cheek behind her ear, licked her dry lips, and offered a sweet smile.

“I’m fine. As long as Night Moon is alright.”

Her soft, sweet voice made it seem as though she was downplaying her own misfortunes, humbly drawing a rare sliver of happiness from the safety of others.

And you say you don’t have the qualities of a Magical Girl? You, little angel, are practically a born Magical Girl! Night Moon thought with a pang of heartache, her gaze towards Chloe filled with both reassurance and tender affection.

What’s with that look, full of maternal radiance?
