The alarm bell rang.
Mo opened her eyes at the same moment the bell sounded, sitting up in bed.
It was hard to say whether she was awakened by the alarm clock on the bedside table or by her internal biological clock, since she had been waking up promptly at six o’clock every morning for the past year, which had become a habit.
The silver-haired girl, after turning off the alarm, put on her jk uniform and began to tidy up her bed neatly, while turning her gaze towards the window.
A cloudless morning, and a few geese could be seen flying gracefully in formation across the azure sky.
Everything last night really felt like a dream.
But when the silver-haired girl, who had finished making the bed, walked to the floor-to-ceiling window in the bedroom, she realized that it wasn’t a virtual dream, but a cold reality.
The Berlin jurisdiction outside the window was in a mess.
To be exact, about three-quarters of the city had turned into ruins, which obviously hadn’t survived the destruction of the ‘Samai’ super typhoon.
The entire back area, as well as a part of the middle area, had been razed to the ground.
And the remaining quarter of the area – including her place of residence – was still standing proudly between heaven and earth, without any trace of being affected.
Without a doubt, all the front areas were safe and sound under the defensive barriers last night, and this also included part of the middle area.
Many places were only separated by a street and a building, but the scenes were like heaven and earth.
It seemed that there would be a lot of work for post-disaster reconstruction.
After starting a new day with a simple wash, Mo turned on the headset that was clipped to her ear, adjusted the channel to the news station, and came to the dining room to make breakfast.
As she expected, the news featured the unusual super typhoon that hit the Berlin jurisdiction last night.
“The level 18 typhoon ‘Samai’ had weakened to a tropical low pressure three hours ago,” the announcer reported on the disaster with a clear and loud voice,
“Although the super typhoon has brought extremely serious property damage to the Berlin jurisdiction, fortunately, it didn’t cause any casualties, and all this credit must be attributed to the heroic firefighters who fought all night.”
The silver-haired girl, who was frying eggs in the pan, suddenly stopped.
No casualties?
Three-quarters of the city had already been erased from the map, and there was simply no time to evacuate. Were there really no deaths or injuries?
Oh right, she almost forgot, the personnel here only referred to magical girls, after all, humans were categorized into the part of property damage.
After skillfully frying two eggs and four slices of bacon, Mo took a bag of bread, a bottle of milk, and two candied haws from the refrigerator, sat in her seat in the dining room, and ate a simple breakfast quietly.
The news in the headset had switched from the typhoon disaster to the third Gladiator Cup’s round of sixteen to eight matches.
The host was enthusiastically describing a fierce sword fighting competition, with such vivid words that the silver-haired girl, who didn’t open the holographic window to watch the live scene, could imagine two handsome youths, holding greatswords and wearing sexy tight clothing, fighting each other amid the cheers of a large group of spectators.
Besides playing games, Kim Erise usually loved watching these kinds of gladiator competitions the most.
This was the most popular and grand event in Chaska, which was held every three months, and there were many varieties, ranging from one-on-one duels to team battles and battle royale, to meet the different needs of the audience.
This was a life-or-death battle with real weapons, and only by completely killing the other side could one win the match, and one had to defeat all the opponents in a row and win the final to get the ultimate victory.
Because the ultimate winner had the opportunity to get rid of the status of a s*ave and become a big star, even if the risk of death was extremely high, there would be a large number of slaves signing up every time, which was a case of too many monks and too little porridge.
Oh right, the registration was limited to young boys and teenagers under the age of 16, you know.
Mo didn’t have much interest in this kind of competition.
In her opinion, that kind of fighting style was too childish and didn’t have anything to do with her profession, which didn’t arouse any interest.
But the focus of these kinds of competitions was actually the violent scenes of blood and flesh of the boys flying around, and the fights were all additional decorations, and not even the focus.
After all, there was nothing more exciting for the girls than watching the boys with cold weapons with blood splattering everywhere.
Turning off the headset, she began her routine cleaning.
This was a must-do in the morning: tidying up the more than two-hundred-square-meter house until it was spotless.
Thanks to modern automatic tools such as a vacuum cleaner, it could usually be done in less than two hours.
Even so, every time cleaning Kim Erise’s room – especially the entertainment room filled with computers, figurines, PspXbox snacks, drinks, and posters – was an incredibly difficult task.
Since she and the silver-haired girl moved here and started the life of a retired person, the red-haired girl’s daily routine was sleeping, eating, playing video games, watching movies, chasing anime series, and watching gladiators.
She didn’t care about cleaning at all.
She would randomly throw away the packaging bags and drink bottles after eating, and either put the clothes she had taken off on the back of the chair or directly throw them on the ground.
She often mixed them with clean clothes and couldn’t tell them apart. Her fiery red hair, often not combed, was tied together with a hair tie like a beggar.
Sometimes, after painstakingly helping her clean up, she would also shout loudly:
“Where’s my ps10 I put here? Mo, where did you throw it again?” and so on.
Mo would bet that as long as she wasn’t at this house, the entire bright and clean house would turn into a garbage dump in less than three days.
Just like the angel who went to the human world to study and then fell, from the anime series Kim Erise was watching now.
Oh no, it might be an overestimation to give her three days.
…
Two hours later, wiping away the fine beads of sweat on her forehead, the silver-haired girl turned on the air conditioner and stretched lazily on the spot.
Let me see what else is on the agenda today…
Hmm, the supplies in the refrigerator aren’t enough, I need to go to the supermarket and buy some more, eggs, milk, vegetables, fruits, and Erise’s favorite roasted chicken, grilled duck, and pan-fried fish, and so on and so forth.
And then buy myself a few pairs of black stockings.
The ones on my legs seem to have a hole scratched yesterday, although it can still be used after repair – I might as well add a few matching jks.
Sigh, that fool Erise, at least didn’t believe my lie of liking Lolita – it’s still more comfortable to wear a jk.
And then… um, I have to go to the s*ave trading center in the Berlin jurisdiction and pick up the one hundred people from the Community Party who are expected to arrive at noon.
Kim Erise also sent a message early this morning, saying that she had sent all of Xiaoyu’s furniture, clothes, and toys. She had entrusted her to decorate her room today.
Di——
The headset received a new message, without any name of the sender, and the recipient was all VIP-level magical girls in the Berlin jurisdiction.
Without looking, she knew that this must be the follow-up result of the investigation last night.
“Supai’s investigation shows: the formation of this abnormal natural disaster has nothing to do with magical girls and pseudo-gods, so they have begun to shift their focus to the United Nations and start activating the agents dormant among humans for investigation – thank you for your cooperation today, you have worked hard.
Although this super typhoon did not cause any casualties, more than 100,000 hectares of nearly mature wheat near the Berlin jurisdiction were destroyed, and even the scientific research base for experimental new varieties of wheat was affected.
We estimate that there will be a food crisis in Chaska in the next few months, and the specific solutions are still being urgently discussed, and the possibility of using force is not ruled out.
This message must be kept confidential to all non-VIP-level magical girls, and any information leakage is strictly prohibited.”
Without thinking, from the formation of the typhoon last night to now, the high-level officials of Chaska must be in a panic: they were already on the verge of an economic crisis, and now this suspicious natural disaster has stepped in, and if it wasn’t handled well, it would really trigger the chaos of the magical girls.
But it was a bit novel that Supai didn’t come to her either – it stands to reason that that group of overzealous lunatics wouldn’t let go of any suspicious target.
Anyway, even if they came, she would also know nothing – after all, she had been busy taking care of Kim Erise’s daily life for the past year and had long been out of touch with the previous things.
Presumably, Supai also knew this a long time ago and didn’t come to find her, right?
In short, never mind this matter, it’s time to complete the tasks on the list one by one.
Picking up the parasol, Mo changed into her uniform shoes and walked out of the house.
Even if the person she cared about the most wasn’t at home today, there was still no change, and it was the same as usual, a simple and ordinary day.
But the feeling of emptiness in her heart was still lingering.
Mo only wanted to live a peaceful life with Kim Erise.
But the other party had already chosen another path.
