Teamwork Triumphs and Raid Reflections

Chapter 231,368 words12 min read

– Tsk! Dying from spacing out and still acting bold? Can’t you ask nicely?

– Right! Beg politely for the healer’s rez!

Beta and PotteryMaster yelled with laughter in their voices.
Yeah, dying was my fault, but… what? Ask nicely?
Smirking, I tapped the mic and said cheerily, *Let’s see you try.*

“Whatever, don’t rez me then. I’ll clear from the floor. Comfy, real comfy!”

– Hurry, rez SoonToDie! Tank’s about to die!

– Hng!

– Grown adult acting like that? Talk like an adult.

– Hng!

As Beta and OneHit’s banter ended, the rez came through.
My DPS tanked from being dead, so I had to hammer skills to clear before the Critical Point.
Fingers ablaze, I pounded the keyboard.
Someone laughed about breaking it, but I was too focused to reply.

– Oh, I’m dead…

– He’s dead! He said he messed up!

– Mocking me?! Let’s fight! Arena, now!

– Call!

It hit me how vital a good party is.
Despite dumb mistakes and near-wipes, it felt smoother than the first try.
A sense of stability, maybe?
Our gear wasn’t perfect, so one error could wipe us, but their ability to cover kept wipes rare.

As the raid went on, we got used to mechanics, clearing flawlessly by the end.
The comfort made me think, *What if I’d gone to a pub instead?*

“If I went to a pub… I’d end up on the drama board.”

I forgot my mic was on.
Party members, puzzled, asked what I meant.

– Huh? Why? You’re doing great.

– Sub-tank? Berserker’s meta now!

“No, not that… Imagine going from this synced group to a pub.”

– Oh… yeah…

– I-I’m not going to a pub…

– …Just thinking about it hurts. Ugh!

They got it.
Not about lacking skill for the drama board.
Going from this tight-knit, skilled group to a pub where trolls lurk would land me raging on the boards.
Even if they trolled first, *Iskaria’s Despair* is a new raid.
Most runs are blind or sloppy, with few proper farming groups.
Playing with noobs might get my account banned for flaming.

“Let’s… definitely form a raid group.”

Spoiled by this comfort, pubs were no longer an option.
I’d quit before joining one—except for gold grinding.
Gotta earn gold, right?

– Had fun today! Let’s do it again!

– Good work, enjoy!

The proto-raid group finally ended.
Everyone was hyped, and despite it being time to stop, no one wanted to leave until we kept running *Iskaria*.
No idea how many runs we did.
Rubbing my temples against the fatigue, I was about to speak when PatchNote’s chat popped up.

[Guild/PatchNote: Gotta step out for work.]

[Guild/PatchNote: Great job today.]

“Hey, wait, got something to say…”

[Friend PatchNote has logged out.]

[Guild Member PatchNote has logged out.]

Dang, he left voice chat first?
Too slow.
No big deal, I’ll talk later.
Exiting voice chat and the party, I thought about the raid group.
We definitely need one more DPS.

During runs, I asked QuitMyJob, but he said work keeps him too busy for a raid group.
That means finding someone outside the guild—someone reliable.
No one comes to mind.

“That guy still playing?”

I remembered a guy from Myth Guild who always dealt massive DPS—one of my few close contacts.
He was offline for a while due to real life.
Wonder how he’s doing.
I’ve been swamped with group projects myself, only back now for break.

No contact info, though—that’s the kicker.
I’ve never felt the need to exchange numbers with in-game friends.
Regretting that now.
No real reason, just laziness.

[Guild/DontOrderMe: Beta, you in touch with Pudding?]

[Guild/Beta: KimPudding? Why him?]

[Guild/DontOrderMe: He’s a solid DPS.]

[Guild/DontOrderMe: Another DPS would be nice.]

[Guild/Beta: Oh, true, I’ll ask.]

Nodding at Beta’s reply, I said thanks and stared into space.
Burned out from the grind, I felt drained.
All my energy went into *Iskaria*.

“Now… what?”

No pubs.
No one to run with post-raid.
Idly flipping through my inventory, I considered logging off to sleep.
Just then—

[Guild/Beta: Pudding’s probably asleep, no reply.]

[Guild/DontOrderMe: Not urgent, it’s fine.]

[Guild/DontOrderMe: Let’s think about other raid members too.]

Beta agreed but suggested something else.

[Guild/Beta: Why not just run with us?]

[Guild/Beta: Let YearRound handle damage reduction, I’ll solo heal.]

[Guild/Beta: Ask him to DPS, we won’t lack damage.]

Honestly, I agree.
Better to stick with us than add a rando.
But *Iskaria’s Despair*, despite its difficulty, ties to the main quest—not endgame speedrun content.

[Guild/DontOrderMe: For later high-difficulty content, I want to speedrun.]

[Guild/DontOrderMe: Time we tried speedrunning too.]

[Guild/Beta: Oh.]

[Guild/Beta: True… speedrunning needs more DPS.]

[Guild/Beta: Couldn’t dream of speedrunning in Myth, but now?!]

What can you do?
Myth’s guild master was trash at the game.
Saying it’s late and I’m off to bed, I shut down and flopped onto my bed.
Mentioning Myth brought back memories—mostly trouble with the guild master.
Thinking back, leaving was the right call.
This guild’s way better.

**[Free Board] PatchNote’s Iskaria’s Despair Stream Review**
*Author: BlanketIsDangerous*

*(Stream_Video_Link)*

PatchNote, who usually streams other games, ran *Iskaria* with a party—shocker! Saw DontOrderMe, kinda famous lately lol. Except PatchNote and YearRound, all guildmates, I think.

Party comp:
– Tank: Paladin
– Healers: Druid, Bishop
– DPS: Battle Mage, Berserker, Ranger

His leading voice? Damn sexy ;; Take me, bro… No? Fine… ㅎ
Found out the 12 o’clock swamp cleanses burn debuff—new info! PatchNote said he saw it on another stream, but that streamer denied finding it, saying PatchNote figured it out.

Solo tank Paladin did great, but healers were insane—moving heals, perfect timing on damage reduction for AoEs. First time seeing such precise damage reduction. Our manager YearRound… give him a vacation!!!

Weird moment: PatchNote, who never messes up, flubbed. Felt human today.
Problem? His mistake nearly wiped us lol.

Berserker, usually mic-off, said, “I’ll take adds,” and PatchNote stuttered and screwed up lolol. No clue why, but it was hilarious. Were you not that guy, bro? Something with Berserker…?

YearRound roasted him, “You messed up, you fix it,” lolol. PatchNote went ham with DPS to cover—shocking.

Healers nailed damage reduction and heals like they’d played together for a year, not their first run. Are they human?

DPS crew was solid—good movement and combos, but healers stole the show. Only standout was Berserker’s keyboard lolol *taptaptaptaptap*!

Thought PatchNote’s mistake would force a retry, but DPS went all-out and cleared.

That damage needs top gear and blazing fingers—they had both ^^. Berserker went nuts over a class weapon drop, “Did I say I love you?” lol. Sorry, didn’t hear, say it again? ㅎ

They kept farming *Iskaria*—insane stamina. I can’t last that long… young blood? I’m in my 20s but lack that energy. Their mechanic mastery cut run times short—jealous. Wanna raid with them…

Three-line summary:
1. PatchNote trolled with a rare mistake, nearly wiped.
2. Healers’ god-tier covering.
3. They’re forming a raid group? Speedrun incoming?

Usually watch for vicarious thrills, but this was pure fun. Hope they stream again ^^

– “Saw another stream” lolol what’s that? But why the rare mistake?
└ Mic turned on, caused it? Bad blood?
└ Bad blood and PatchNote trolls over a mic? lolol No way.

– Class weapon reaction lolol yaaah! That’s SoonToDie! Where’s that fiery Berserker swagger?!
└ Wait, Berserker’s SoonToDie???
└ Yeah, they call him SoonToDie in chat ㅇㅇ
└ SoonToDie’s who?

– He’s washed lol
└ Nah, one mistake doesn’t make him trash.

– Healers were nuts;; Bishop was great, but YearRound’s Druid was unreal. First-run, new people, nailing damage reduction timing? Insane.

– Clip’s viral on SNS lolol PatchNote panicking lolol
└ Saw it lolol

– Stream again pls 22222
