With Li Chaoci’s authorization, the Mo family’s guards no longer panicked.
They worked together seamlessly, trying to get Mo Bai out.
Seeing this, Wen Zhaoqi sneered and ordered his guards to snatch the child
directly.
The two guards exchanged a glance. A flicker of dark light passed through their
eyes, and their hands moved toward their necks, where their mecha were hidden.
But unlike their wariness, Mo Bai showed no sign of panic in the face of Wen
Zhaoqi and his men. Calmly, he pressed the one-touch alarm on his personal
terminal.
“Beep beep beep—”
Immediately, the special alarm sounded.
Hearing that alarm, Wen Zhaoqi’s face darkened. “f*ck! You’re doing this again!”
He already had trauma from the police robots.
As a legitimate imperial prince, being dragged to the police station by two
police robots was the most humiliating moment of his life.
He had thought that this time, coming with the Empire’s Emperor’s orders and
with so many guards and search personnel, he wouldn’t lose face again. He would
be able to teach that little idiot a good lesson.
But he had forgotten that police robots didn’t care whether you were royal. They
only protected the little brat.
Sure enough, not long after Wen Zhaoqi cursed, two police robots rushed in.
Mo Bai threw himself into the police robot’s arms, whimpering. “That bad person
is here again. Boo hoo.”
The soft little baby cried so hard that the police robot’s hard, cold, steel
heart nearly melted.
Deftly, it wrapped its mechanical arms around the little baby and comforted him
gently: “Don’t be afraid, baby. The bad person can’t hurt you.”
Then it looked up and turned to Wen Zhaoqi, immediately switching to a cold,
mechanical voice—a complete change from its gentle tone just a moment ago!
“Scan complete. Has a criminal record.”
The Third Prince’s appearance was on the police robot’s blacklist. Scanning him
immediately identified him as someone with a criminal record. The next second,
the weapons on the police robot all aimed at Wen Zhaoqi.
Wen Zhaoqi was furious, screaming obscenities. “f*ck! Who made this shitty
thing?! You—tear this robot apart!”
His guards wanted to.
Last time Wen Zhaoqi was taken to the police station, nothing had happened to
him, but they had all been punished.
If it happened again, they’d probably be fired.
But this time, the police robot was different from last time.
Normally, police robots would first give a warning. If the suspect left on their
own, they wouldn’t act.
However, because Wen Zhaoqi was on the police robot’s blacklist, even the
warning step was skipped. A mechanical arm directly shot an anesthetic spray.
While Wen Zhaoqi was dodging, the police robot, familiar with the routine,
apprehended him.
With mechanical ropes tied around him, the robot gently patted the little brat’s
head, activated its foot thrusters, and ‘whoosh,’ flew into the sky, taking him
to the police station.
The guards: “…”
The guards panicked. Seeing Wen Zhaoqi being taken away by the police robot,
they rushed to bring him back.
But before they could catch up, they were stopped by several soldiers.
Looking up, the guards saw Wen Zhaoyan standing not far away. These soldiers
were under his command.
The guards quickly bowed and explained that they needed to rescue the Third
Prince, asking Wen Zhaoyan not to block them.
Wen Zhaoyan’s voice was flat. “The Third Prince? If the police robots were
involved, isn’t he just a human trafficker?”
The guards were furious but couldn’t say a word.
Blocked by Wen Zhaoyan’s soldiers for a short while, the Third Prince was
already out of sight, carried off by the police robot.
After much pleading, Wen Zhaoyan finally waved his hand dismissively. “Since
it’s a misunderstanding, let them go.”
The guards could no longer care about anything else. They rushed to the police
station to retrieve him.
There were search teams, but they could no longer concern themselves with them
now.
The remaining police robot continued to gently comfort the little brat in its
arms. The ‘shivering’ little baby seemed very frightened, which broke the police
robot’s heart.
It comforted him softly: “Poor baby. Always targeted by bad people.”
Mo Bai sobbed pitifully. “I know, right? Is it because I’m too kind? Boohoo,
good people get taken advantage of.”
Wen Zhaoyan: “…”
The police robot didn’t find anything wrong. In its programming, little babies
were the kindest and most adorable beings in the world.
Seeing the little baby targeted by bad people for the second time, the police
robot was also very wary. It rummaged in its chest and pulled out a round
object, placing it in the baby’s hand. “Baby, this is a small protective shield.
If any more bad people come, you activate this.”
The police robot thought that if it arrived even a little later next time, the
little baby might be in danger. So it decided to give him extra protection.
Mo Bai didn’t want it.
But the police robot attached the protective shield to his terminal anyway,
patted the cute little thing on the head, and then left.
Wen Zhaoyan stepped forward to check the little brat. “Are you hurt?”
Mo Bai shook his head. “No.”
Wen Zhaoyan grunted in acknowledgment and prepared to pick up the little brat to
keep him close.
The guards exchanged glances. One of them stepped forward and said, “Your
Highness, the search teams are searching upstairs. They say we privately keep
mermaids. And from what they’re saying, they’ll be searching your estate too.”
Wen Zhaoyan frowned. “I understand.”
The guard took the opportunity to take Mo Bai from him, saying in a low voice,
“Then we’ll leave them to you, Your Highness? It’s not good for us to get into a
conflict with them.”
Wen Zhaoyan said, “Mm.”
Having just experienced the joy of raising a child, Wen Zhaoyan was reluctant to
hand the little one over to others.
But thinking about the search teams, he had no choice but to compromise
expressionlessly. “Take good care of him.”
The guard quickly said, “Of course.”
Wen Zhaoyan then went upstairs with his soldiers.
He had just reached the second floor when he paused, sensing something. His brow
furrowed, and he immediately rushed back downstairs!
But by then, Mo Bai was no longer in the living room, and the guards were also
gone.
In just two short minutes!
The soldiers were startled. “Where’s the little brat?”
They quickly ran outside to give chase.
Wen Zhaoyan said, “No need.”
The soldiers looked at him, confused.
Wen Zhaoyan didn’t speak. He lowered his head, his dark eyes fixed on a pool of
special slime on the floor.
This was a special bionic maintenance fluid, generally only used in the storage
pods of biological mecha to maintain them.
When summoning a biological mecha from a space button, some of this maintenance
fluid would inadvertently leak out.
No matter how large the Empire, there were only three biological mecha in
existence.
Biological mecha were an invention of the Uruk Civilization. They could change
form and evolve along with their pilot.
He hadn’t expected that the Mo family’s guards would possess a biological mecha.
Biological mecha were faster than ordinary mecha.
They couldn’t catch up to Mo Bai.
He had been careless.
He had checked the Mo family’s guards. They had worked for the Mo family for
many years with clean records.
But he hadn’t expected them to be hiding so much.
But what was their purpose in taking the little brat?
Was it because of Mo Li?
Wen Zhaoyan stood up expressionlessly, ignoring the search teams, and connected
to Kai’s call.
“Lock down the interstellar port and all spaceship launch points,” Wen Zhaoyan
said in a low voice. “People from the Uruk Civilization have infiltrated.”
Kai’s expression changed. He immediately understood the seriousness of the
situation. Without another word, he ordered all ports closed.
Mo Bai was currently sitting in the mecha cockpit.
After leaving the Mo family villa in the biological mecha, the guards switched
to an ordinary mecha.
There were no seats in the cockpit. He was sitting on the control panel, his
little legs dangling. A guard stood beside him, affectionately offering him an
apple and a banana.
Mo Bai didn’t take them. He looked seriously at the guard. “Where are you taking
me?”
At first, Mo Bai thought the guard was taking him to find Mo Xiangtian.
But he checked the route to Mo Xiangtian’s company, and this wasn’t it.
If he couldn’t tell that the guards meant him no harm and were being very
careful with him, Mo Bai wouldn’t have sat there so obediently.
The guard, worried the young master might be scared, tried to soothe him in a
gentle voice. “Young Master, don’t be afraid. We’re taking you to see sir.”
Mo Bai said, “Who is sir?”
The guard said softly, “You’ll know very soon.”
Mo Bai asked again, “Who is sir?”
The guard paused. He wasn’t sure if it was his imagination, but he thought he
saw a flash of golden light in the young master’s eyes.
The next moment, the guard’s eyes glazed over. He mumbled, “Sir… sir asked us to
stay at the Mo family, to protect… protect you all…”
Mo Bai took a bite of the apple and asked casually, “Mm. What’s his surname? His
full name? Who is he?”
The guard answered one by one. “Surname Li. Li Chaoci. He’s our master.”
Mo Bai stopped chewing.
Li Chaoci?
That was his little uncle?
Fifteen minutes later.
The mecha stopped at a port.
The guard in the cockpit had completely forgotten what had just happened. He
didn’t forget to comfort the little brat. “Young Master, don’t be scared. We
won’t hurt you.”
Mo Bai ate another banana and obediently nodded. “Okay.”
The guard’s heart trembled. He thought to himself, ‘How can the little baby be
this good?’
If this was a real bad person, he would be tricked in no time!
He would definitely have to teach the little baby about the importance of being
wary and not trusting others easily!
After exiting the mecha, the guards took Mo Bai on a winding path and then onto
a spaceship.
The spaceship was huge. The exterior was understated, but the interior was
lavish.
Mo Bai was taken to the captain’s quarters.
Inside the captain’s quarters was a single chair. A man sat with his back to
him.
The guard bowed respectfully. “Sir, the young master is here.”
Then the man in the chair turned, rotating both the chair and himself.
Mo Bai met a pair of light blue fox-like eyes.
The man’s features were slightly sharp. With these eyes, he looked very
cold-blooded.
But at this moment, his gaze was focused, quiet, and gentle as he gazed at Mo
Bai.
He seemed afraid of frightening him, his eyes carrying a hint of barely
concealed nervousness.
Big and small stared at each other for a moment. Li Chaoci spoke first. “Mo Bai.
I’m your uncle.”
After speaking, the underlying tension in Li Chaoci’s eyes grew even stronger.
He was afraid Mo Bai wouldn’t believe him and was thinking about how to convince
the little brat.
But unexpectedly, the little brat just nodded and, with an air of profound calm,
said, “Hello, little uncle.”
Li Chaoci: “…?”
No panic, no disbelief?
No fear, no pleading for proof?
Just like that, he called him uncle?
Li Chaoci was uncertain. “You don’t… have any doubts?”
Mo Bai had already gotten the information from the guards and had gotten over
his surprise.
Plus, Wen Zhaoyan often told him that his little uncle cared about him and sent
him gifts.
What was there for Mo Bai to doubt?
Mo Bai asked, puzzled, “Is there something to doubt?”
Li Chaoci: “…”
Sorry.
He had overthought it.
As expected, his little brat was just different from others!
This must be what they meant by ‘heart to heart’ between uncle and nephew! (?)
Li Chaoci happily picked up the little brat, examined him carefully, then asked
with lingering worry, “Are you sure you’re not hurt? I heard that idiot Third
Prince tried to bully you? Should uncle go bombard him to avenge you?”
“I’m fine,” Mo Bai said. “You should worry about uncle-in-law instead of me.”
Li Chaoci paused. A flicker of confusion crossed his fox-like eyes. “…Who did
you say?”
Mo Bai said, “Your boyfriend. I suddenly disappeared. He’ll be very worried. Why
don’t you give him a call first and tell him I’m with you?”
Li Chaoci slowly put the little brat down, slowly narrowed his fox-like eyes,
and enunciated each word: “What. Boyfriend?!”
Mo Bai: “??”
