Chapter 23: The Unstoppable Decision

“What the hell is this?”

Seyul was confused by the unpredictable actions.

But the viewers were even more bewildered.

[Isn’t this guy that NPC?]

[Yeah, he looks like him, and the name matches too.]

The viewers who had played Warrior of the Gods were stunned.

The newly introduced character, Osman.

Among Warrior of the Gods fans, he was a relatively well-known NPC.

A high-ranking monster of the vampire race.

And a fairly skilled one at that.

As players slayed monsters, he would eventually appear.

He would make his entrance in a dignified and noble manner, leading an army,

declaring that he could no longer stand by while his kin were being slaughtered.

Even in death, he maintained his composure, showcasing impressive skill before finally being defeated by the player.

His character fit the classic image of a noble vampire of the night.

But why was this so-called noble vampire now acting like a blonde delinquent, claiming Seyul was his s*ave?

[He does look like a blonde delinquent, though…]

[Something weird is happening right now…]

As everyone watched in stunned silence, Osman’s actions became more and more ridiculous.

“Heh heh, look at this. To you guys, she’s an unattainable goddess, but to me, she’s just a s*ave.”

He casually draped an arm over Seyul’s shoulder, pulling her closer.

“You son of a”

Another wave of sexual harassment.

Seyul felt disgusted, but since he had whispered something strange earlier, she couldn’t act rashly just yet.

“Oh, I see now.”

“If she’s your s*ave, we won’t interfere, but take better care of your property in the future.”

The guards had no interest in dealing with Osman’s antics any further.

Though they still had some doubts, the mention of “s*ave” was enough for them to back off.

“Phew! Looks like my acting worked.”

‘What kind of acting is that?’

Now alone with Osman, his demeanor shifted.

He grabbed Seyul’s wrist not roughly, but firmly and started pulling her.

“This way! We need to go somewhere more discreet.”

“Why?”

“Because I need you. Now hurry!”

Osman looked visibly flustered.

His words sounded suspicious, but there was no malice behind them.

For once, Seyul chose not to cause a scene and quietly followed him.

“Get in.”

Osman led her into a secluded alleyway.

As he placed his hand on a wall, it unexpectedly slid open, revealing a hidden passage.

Once inside, the tunnel led underground.

At the end of the passage was a vast open space, almost like a secret underground base.

Countless monsters filled the area.

Osman gestured toward them and spoke to Seyul.

“Welcome to the Resistance.”

“…The Resistance?”

Seyul’s eyes widened in shock.

She had experienced her fair share of bizarre moments in this game, but this was on another level.

It was like going to watch a kaiju movie only to see the monsters passionately making out.

As this plot twist blindsided Seyul, the chat erupted into chaos.

[Why the hell is there a Resistance?]

[I don’t know, man. No clue.]

[It’s not like they’re oppressed citizens resisting tyranny…]

[What exactly are they resisting?]

[Wake up! You guys are just mobs!]

[Wait… if the mobs are organizing a Resistance, aren’t they technically resisting the protagonist?]

[That… actually makes sense.]

[Some games do form armies just to deal with chaotic players.]

[But in this case, they literally brought the chaotic player here…]

[Why would you invite your natural predator into your secret base?!]

The idea of monsters forming a Resistance against something without even specifying what was absolutely baffling.

“Let me introduce myself first.”

As everyone was still reeling, Osman calmly bowed and introduced himself.

“My name is Osman. I am the leader of this Resistance and one of the key figures of this city.”

“…A key figure?”

“You, a human lady, might not understand, but we monsters have no noble class. “

“Instead, high-ranking monsters like myself take on a similar role and govern other monsters.”

According to the game’s lore, high-ranking monsters acted as the equivalent of nobles in human society.

Those with exceptional strength, like Osman, naturally held even higher status.

The strongest monster in a city was treated as its ruling lord.

The city Seyul had arrived in was no exception.

Under the management of high-ranking monsters, it had managed to remain relatively peaceful.

But that was all in the past.

“Drain. That cursed technique changed everything.”

Osman spoke with a heavy heart.

“The other high-ranking monsters became obsessed with the power Drain granted. “

“To grow stronger, they started forcibly capturing and sacrificing fellow monsters without hesitation.

Realizing this, we, the monsters gathered here, began to wonder how long until we became the next victims?”

“…So you secretly formed a resistance to survive?”

Seyul was starting to grasp the situation.

The viewers, too, were dumbfounded.

[Oh, great. It’s Drain again.]

[Hey, you goblin mentor!!]

[Yep. The story’s completely off the rails now.]

[This is no longer Warrior of God as I knew it.]

[How did things end up like this?!]

[I’m losing my mind!]

Who could have predicted that Seyul not learning Drain would lead to all this?

If one thought about it, it was entirely Seyul’s fault.

The whole game was falling apart just because a player refused to learn a skill.

‘Weren’t these guys supposed to be mobs? How did the plot turn out like this?’

Unaware that her own actions had caused this mess, Seyul simply clicked her tongue in annoyance.

“Fine. I did see them rounding up monsters in the city. So I get why you’d secretly try to gather people and resist.

But why bring me here?”

That part didn’t make sense to her.

What’s more, Osman had acted as if he had been expecting her.

“You… do you know who I am?”

“Of course. Not just me there’s no one here who doesn’t know you.”

“Really?”

Seyul’s large, cute eyes widened even further.

How could there be so many people in a city she had just entered for the first time who knew her?

As she looked around in confusion, the other monsters started crowding around her.

“We’ve heard many stories about you.”

“You’re just as beautiful as they said!”

“I heard you fought against high-ranking monsters to save a village.”

“And you weren’t even obligated to help!”

“Your heroic and merciful actions have deeply moved us all.”

The monsters spoke eagerly, each trying to get a word in.

Seyul quickly realized they were talking about how she had helped Koras’ village.

‘That spread this fast?’

From Seyul’s perspective, it hadn’t even been an hour since that happened.

It was strange, but this was just how the game’s system worked.

If a player’s actions took days to be acknowledged, it would slow down the gameplay.

So, most events were processed and reflected instantly.

In this case, Koras had decided to spread the story of Seyul’s deeds, and the system had promptly made that a reality.

“Right now, you’re a hero among the monsters suffering because of Drain!”

“You’ve given everyone hope just by being here.”

In less than an hour, Seyul had become the hero of the monster race.

[What even is this…]

[Dear God.]

The chat was overwhelmed with confused reactions.

[Wait, so Seyul is now the hero of the monsters?]

[Not a hero for slaying monsters to protect humans?]

[This is still Warrior of God, right?]

[Warrior of God   a game where the chosen one receives divine power to slay monsters.]

[But looking at this… it’s about defying the gods and helping monsters instead.]

[Shouldn’t it be Warrior of the Demons instead?]

[Is this a hidden event?]

[I’ve never been this confused in my life.]

This completely upended the game’s fundamental premise defeating monsters to become a hero.

Even the viewers, who were used to Seyul’s chaotic playstyle, found this one especially wild.

“Ohh, I see.

So, you’re saying you want me, the hero, to help you.”

Seyul spoke in a bored tone.

She wasn’t nearly as shaken as the viewers.

After all, she had no real understanding of the game’s intended storyline.

So, rather than dwell on it, she just moved on.

“It’s obvious. You brought me here because you want me to help you, just like I helped that village.”

“Yes.”

Osman answered solemnly.

“We plan to revolt in the near future. However, we don’t have enough strength on our own, so we need at least one powerful ally.

Just then, we heard that you were coming this way.

Please, we ask for your help.”

True to his noble character setting, Osman was not forceful but rather polite in his request.

‘Should I help them?’

Seyul pondered.

If it were those wretched gods making this request, she would have refused immediately.

But unlike them, the beings before her didn’t seem to be scheming or trying to use her.

They were simply asking for help, and Seyul had even received a bit of assistance from them earlier when dealing with the guards.

It didn’t feel right to reject them outright.

“Tch. How ridiculous. Us monsters, asking a human for help?”

A voice cut through the atmosphere, dousing the hopeful mood with cold water.

The owner of the voice was clad from head to toe in jet-black armor, leaving no gaps exposed.

[Oh, it’s the Black Knight!]

[The Black Knight?!]

[Why is he here?]

Viewers instantly recognized the figure, and the chat erupted.

The monster known as the Black Knight was just as famous as Osman if not more.

In simple terms, the Black Knight was the player’s rival.

Once the player reached a certain level of strength, he would appear, challenge them, and test their skills.

Since he repeatedly confronted players and left a strong impression each time, he naturally became well-known among them.

Now, this formidable rival had suddenly appeared and was picking a fight.

The viewers were caught off guard, and so were Osman and the other monsters.

“Black Knight, what’s the meaning of this?”

Osman asked hesitantly.

Since the Black Knight was the player’s rival, he was also a highly esteemed figure among monsters.

The only reason he was here was because Osman, in desperate need of strength, had invited him.

He had pleaded with him to come, so naturally, he had to tread carefully.

“This lady here has already defeated several high-ranking monsters.”

“So what? She’s still just a human.”

The Black Knight glared at Seyul with clear disdain.

“Even if a human is strong, how strong can they truly be?

Besides, this is a matter for monsters.

And yet, you would turn to a human for aid? Are you out of your mind? Do you have no pride?”

“T-That’s…”

“You’ve clearly lost your senses in your desperation. Get a grip.

If you drag a human into this and they die, will you be able to take responsibility for that?”

He wasn’t just looking down on Seyul he was also genuinely concerned.

As proud as he was, he was also a knight bound by chivalry, which explained his behavior.

Osman’s face hardened, as did the expressions of the once-hopeful monsters.

“…Is that so?”

“Now that I think about it, this really is our problem.”

The monsters murmured among themselves.

“You’re right.”

Moved by the Black Knight’s concerns, Osman reconsidered.

He had been so desperate that he had rushed into asking for Seyul’s help,

but now that he thought about it, it was indeed a problematic decision.

After all, within the game, Seyul was just a human.

“I was only thinking from our perspective.

…Lady Seyul, I sincerely apologize. Please forget what I said earlier. You don’t have to help us.”

Osman withdrew his request.

Now, all Seyul had to do was continue on her way.

“No.”

At that moment, even the gods would have tensed up at Seyul’s response.

“I’ll help you.”

“…What?”

“Human, did you not hear what we just said?”

Even after being told she didn’t need to help, Seyul insisted on doing so.

Osman and the Black Knight looked at her as if she were insane.

“No. I appreciate the thought, but really, you don’t have to.”

“I don’t care what you think! What matters is that I have already decided to help you.

So now, you don’t have a choice. Just accept my help quietly and stop resisting.”

Even though they had refused, Seyul was forcing her help on them.

Osman’s jaw dropped at her sheer absurdity.

“Human, have you lost your mind?”

The Black Knight radiated killing intent.
