Hearing this, Leon’s voice grew grave.
“I’m afraid these people are the ones who didn’t manage to escape when they were using Blood Rose in a group.”
“It seems they all…”
He didn’t finish his sentence, but the meaning was self-evident.
No one knew exactly how many had failed to escape.
But there were already more than a dozen of them here.
Their individual strength was roughly at the Mid-Tier level, not top-tier.
But with such a number, if a chaotic battle broke out, it would be enough to keep them busy for a while.
Black waited patiently, holding his ground.
These possessed people needed to be saved, but they were not the real target tonight.
He was waiting, waiting for the real big fish.
Soon, the target he was waiting for appeared.
A figure, completely shrouded in a large black cloak, appeared silently under the oak tree.
He held a ghastly white staff, its tip inlaid with a skull. The exposed skin on his face was a sickly grayish-white, completely bloodless, not like a living person.
The corner of his mouth twitched slightly, making an unpleasant hissing sound.
“He’s here.”
This classic image of a necromancer, with its direct visual impact, made Irena shrink back a little.
She subconsciously moved closer to Black.
Leon stared at the other party, judging his strength.
“Around Top-Tier. With the few of us working together, it’s enough.”
“When do we make a move?”
Black’s expression did not change as he said in a low voice.
“Not yet. Wait until he starts casting necromancy, at the critical moment of his incantation, then we’ll strike.”
The necromancer scanned his surroundings, seemingly not noticing anything unusual.
He continued to walk forward.
Under the watchful eyes of Black and the others, the necromancer walked directly under the oak tree.
He took out several magic crystals and placed them around him in sequence, forming a rough barrier.
Then, the skull staff in his hand began to draw on the ground, dark lines of energy flowing from its tip.
It quickly outlined a complex black magic array.
After finishing, he stood the staff in the center of the array and began to pour magical power into it.
At the same time, he muttered, chanting an obscure and mysterious incantation.
Kristine stared at the pattern of the magic array forming on the ground, her brow furrowed, a trace of doubt rising in her heart.
‘Why would he choose to cast necromancy here?’
‘Unless… there is a large number of soul resources here?’
‘But if there are a large number of souls, does that mean…’
Before she could continue her thought.
Black had already raised his hand, preparing to give the command to attack!
However, before he could shout “Attack.”
The necromancer, without any warning, stopped his incantation.
He abruptly grabbed his staff and cast an instant spell in the direction where Black and the others were hiding.
“Ghost Sphere!”
A huge black skull, formed from dense dark elements, instantly took shape!
It let out a piercing whistle and shot through the air!
This turn of events was too sudden, completely beyond everyone’s expectations!
“We were discovered after all?”
Black gritted his teeth. The opponent was just as sharp and cunning as in the game.
Fortunately, he was a player and had always maintained a sense of vigilance.
In a flash, he gripped the hilt of the Demon-Cleaver with both hands, plunged the blade into the ground in front of him, and shouted in a low voice.
“Protective Sword Aura, defend!”
“Voom!”
A huge golden sword phantom appeared out of thin air, as solid as a real object, exuding an awe-inspiring righteousness. It collided violently with the whistling black skull!
“Rumble!”
The energy clashed violently, and a dull, loud bang erupted.
The golden sword phantom disintegrated, and the black skull also collapsed at the same time, turning into scattered black smoke.
The moment it dissipated, the necromancer’s incantation changed.
The people who had been standing motionlessly, possessed by evil spirits, immediately let out inhuman roars.
Their eyes turned a bloodthirsty scarlet, and like zombies, they frantically pounced towards the corner where Black and the others were hiding!
“Proceed as planned!”
Black drew his sword and shouted sternly.
Everyone moved at his command, leaping out from the shadows and engaging in battle with the charging monsters.
“No wonder the yin energy was disturbed tonight. So there were a few little mice.”
The necromancer said hoarsely.
But when he saw the Dragon-Slaying Guard uniforms on Black and the others, he was stunned for a moment, a brief flash of panic.
When he sensed that the fluctuations from their bodies were mostly only at the Mid-Tier level, he calmed down.
‘So that’s all.’
The dozen or so evil spirits he controlled were all at the Mid-Tier level, with a few at High-Tier!
He wasn’t afraid of these few Dragon-Slaying Guards.
But, this necromancer did not know.
These Mid-Tier young men and women were not ordinary Mid-Tier.
The battle broke out. Facing so many evil spirits, the group was not chaotic. They attacked in sequence according to the strategy Black had arranged beforehand.
“Holy Light Battle Hymn!”
Kristine was the first to act.
She raised her staff high, and a brilliant pillar of holy light shot up from its center.
A gentle radiance enveloped all her teammates.
The Priest’s Mid-Tier Oracle, providing a large boost to the strength and speed of the chosen targets!
In an instant, everyone felt their bodies lighten, and power surged through them.
Immediately after, Kristine pointed her staff forward and threw out another spell.
“Soul Suppression!”
A high-tier light-attribute spell specifically for dark-attribute units was cast.
Holy light spread out like ripples, covering all the monsters in front.
The monsters hit by the holy light visibly faltered, the black energy on their bodies thinning, and their elemental resistance greatly weakened.
“Thousand Birds Stream!”
Jianye followed closely. The Moon-Guide Staff in her hand crackled with lightning.
A thick chain of lightning, like a thunder serpent, roared out and shot into the group of monsters.
The chain lightning leaped and shuttled frantically between the monsters. Each time it hit a target, it would split into more electric arc chains!
In the blink of an eye, it had covered a large area.
Although the damage of the lightning itself was limited against these monsters.
Its powerful paralysis effect successfully slowed down the monsters’ movements.
Jianye, having succeeded in one strike, did not linger. She retreated lightly.
“Five-Layer Ice Seal!”
Irena took Jianye’s place. She shouted, and the Sun’s Dawn in her hand slammed heavily onto the ground.
As a master of ice-attribute spells, she channeled her magical power to the fullest. A furious and cold current of air surged forward in a fan shape.
Ice Seal was only a Mid-Tier spell, but after being stacked five times, its power had long since stepped into the realm of high-tier spells!
Coupled with the night environment, the ice element was particularly active.
Wherever the cold air passed, a thick layer of ice formed on the ground, freezing the already slow-moving monsters in place one by one.
Turning them into rigid ice sculptures.
“Leon!”
Irena shouted.
“Leave it to me!”
Leon sneered coldly, tore open the potion Black had given him beforehand, and poured the golden liquid onto the blade of his longsword.
A layer of evil-dispelling golden light covered the sword’s body.
The next moment, his figure shot out like lightning.
The sword light transformed into streaks of golden arcs, accurately slashing at the frozen monsters.
“Tsch!”
The monsters struck by the golden light immediately emitted thick black smoke.
The black smoke struggled to separate from its host, gathering into a blurry, twisted form of an evil spirit.
And the bodies of the possessed people went limp, collapsing to the ground, and returned to their original appearance.
