Since the situation had escalated, it seemed nearly impossible to shake off the Mangming Gallery.
Both Mangming and Harin were involved.
It was probably best to just go along with it.
‘All I can do is hope they disappear.’
If I didn’t react, they might just vanish on their own soon.
Thinking that, I made another donation.
[Dugong has donated 1,000 won!]
I asked innocently, curious about how Harin had become friends with Mangming.
[Omniscient Cthulhu: ???]
[Omniscient Cthulhu: How come I didn’t know about this?]
[I didn’t know either LOL]
[They’ve known each other since middle school?]
[This is news to me.]
[Is this for real?]
[How close are they? LOL]
Knowing each other since middle school?
I never could have imagined that.
The way Mangming appeared on her streams seemed so different from Harin.
As Harin said that, her chat started to flood with messages.
[Not really.]
[She barely mentioned it.]
[Just said there’s someone like that~ and left it at that.]
[If I were Mangming, I wouldn’t want to drag my friends into this fandom mess either LOL]
[Can’t blame her, really.]
[Mangmoney… I get it now~ Mangmoney… I get it now~ Mangmoney… I get it now~]
[But seriously, it makes sense now.]
[Mangmoney…]
[She’s really the GOAT, staying silent to protect her friends from her toxic fandom.]
[These guys were trashing Mangming before, now suddenly they’re praising her LOL.]
Thinking about it now, I realized Mangming was impressive.
Pretending not to know me to avoid causing trouble for her friends because of her fans.
It was sad that she had to deal with such a fandom.
With those thoughts in mind, I made one last donation.
[Du-gong has donated 1,000 won!]
I wanted to wrap things up and end the stream soon.
I had enjoyed watching Harin’s stream with the viewers.
Then, Harin’s chat was flooded with messages about me.
[Du-gong left already?]
[Don’t go, Du-ba-oya ㅠㅠ Don’t go, Du-ba-oya ㅠㅠ Don’t go, Du-ba-oya ㅠㅠ]
[Is their stream name Du-gong or Dama? Why does everyone keep switching?]
[Both are correct LOL]
[Dugong or Dama, they’re basically the same.]
[What kind of a ridiculous name is Dugong? Chat is losing it ㅋㅋㅋㅋ.]
[What kind of absurd topic are they discussing this time? LOL.]
It seems I left quite an impression in such a short amount of time.
I hadn’t planned on making such a strong statement about my existence to Harin, so I wasn’t sure whether to feel good or bad about this.
With mixed feelings, I closed Harin’s stream.
“Ah, today’s stream was a bit hectic.”
[Omniscient Cthulhu: LOL.]
[Omniscient Cthulhu: When I first started streaming, there weren’t any major issues.]
[Hwanhee: As your stream grows, it’s inevitable.]
[The stream has grown (60 viewers).]
[If the viewership tripled, that’s a pretty big jump, isn’t it?]
All I wanted to do was play some games and chat briefly on Harin’s stream.
But somehow, it felt like things had gotten a bit complicated.
“Alright, let’s call it a day for now. See you all tomorrow.”
I ended the stream, hoping that tomorrow’s stream would go more smoothly.
“By the way, that person said they’re a guy— is that true?”
In the world of online streaming, it was natural to be suspicious of people who claimed to be men but didn’t show their faces.
It couldn’t be helped.
There were just too many people like that.
[Gasp.]
[Are you really questioning that?]
[This is about to get interesting.]
[How can you be so suspicious?]
[This streamer just exposed it all LOL.]
[Honestly, with a face like Harin’s, most controversies would blow over.]
[Yeah, Harin’s face is undeniable LOL.]
It was an unspoken rule in this industry not to make such comments.
Saying things like that was like giving the viewers the “red pill,” pulling them out of the fun of the stream.
So, she asked the chat again.
“It’s not like I’m being weird or anything. It’s just that there are too many girls pretending to be guys.”
[That’s true.]
[Anyone pretending to be a guy online deserves to be executed LOL.]
[Pretending to be a guy online? That’s just wrong.]
[At least be bold and pretend to be a guy offline, like me LOL.]
[Net creeps are so gross.]
[Some of these guys would lick a girl’s butt for money LOL.]
[They’d lick a girl’s butt even for free LOL.]
You have been temporarily removed from the chat!
“Please, stop saying ridiculous things. What would new viewers think of my stream?”
In the past, I didn’t really care about the tone of my stream, but ever since my average viewer count exceeded 5,000, I’d started to be a bit more cautious.
Because of that, I also began to properly manage the chat.
I was curious about how things were going with Mangming’s stream.
Sure, I had heard Mangming vent about it during our conversations, but based on what I was seeing in the chat earlier, it didn’t seem like streaming was going smoothly for her.
That made me wonder if there was some sort of issue going on.
“So, does anyone watch that Dasima person’s stream? Are they definitely a guy?”
[It’s not Dasima, it’s Dama, you crazy person LOL.]
[I’m not sure yet.]
[They seem pretty certain.]
[I’ve watched almost all of Dama’s streams, and the way they talk is kind of like a girl LOL.]
[They might talk like a girl, but their voice tone is totally that of a guy.]
[You can manipulate voices, so why judge by tone?]
[Their voice seems impossible to modify.]
[Their voice is so deep that it’d be hard to change it.]
The chat seemed divided in their opinions.
This was inevitable when you stream without revealing your face.
Considering all the crazy things that had happened online, I couldn’t really blame anyone for being suspicious.
With that thought, I continued streaming.
“Kuaaah…”
After the stream ended, I collapsed onto the blanket I’d spread on the floor.
Next to me, already lying down and scrolling through her phone, was Yeram.
“So, were Harin and Mangming always close?”
This was what I was most curious about.
From what Harin said on the stream, it seemed like the viewers had no idea about their relationship.
“I heard her say that earlier. I watch Harin’s stream pretty often, but I didn’t know they were that close.”
“Maybe they kept it hidden on purpose.”
“That’s possible.”
Yeram said this, then went back to her phone.
After a short while, she spoke up again.
“Oh, right. By the way, I noticed you’ve gained quite a lot of viewers.”
“Yeah. I’m not really sure why.”
“They seem to be coming from Mangming’s side.”
“Hmm… that’s a bit…”
Not that I disliked Mangming, of course, but getting viewers from her side felt a little strange.
It was almost instinctive.
But what could I do? They were already here.
I had to accept them.
“Well, it’s good that I gained more viewers. I think this is the perfect number. Any more than this would just be a hassle.”
“You’re not making a living off streaming anyway, so this is probably the ideal amount.”
Since streaming wasn’t my main job, this was just the right balance—enough viewers to engage with but not so many that it became overwhelming.
I was content with where things were.
But just then—
“Oh, by the way, aren’t you going to this? You’re usually interested in things like this.”
Yeram showed me a poster for GameStar.
It was quite a large international game exhibition held in Busan.
As much as I wanted to go—
“How can I go? I don’t have the money.”
I didn’t have enough money.
To be more precise, I did have some money, but not enough to cover the costs of traveling to Busan and investing in gaming-related expenses there.
It would probably cost a lot in various ways.
It seemed like a better idea to just buy another game and enjoy it.
For example, a newly released turn-based strategy simulation game based on historical events.
“Still, it wouldn’t be bad to go once before you return to school.”
“How can I leave you and go alone?”
Yeram might be mature, but she was still a minor.
I couldn’t just leave her alone at home and travel somewhere else.
“Oh… so touching.”
“What’s touching about it? Go to bed already. You have to study tomorrow morning.”
“Agh.”
“How dare you talk like that to your older brother?”
I jabbed at Yeram’s joints as she turned her head away, getting my playful revenge.
And the next day.
While I was streaming as usual—
[No way LOL.]
[Omniscient Cthulhu: Is this for real?]
[Hwanhee and LOL.]
[Hwanhee: So jealous.]
[Kang Hoomin: I wish someone would give me that.]
[No conscience, that’s Kang-pyeong LOL.]
[Is this real?]
[Gimme gimme gimme gimme gimme gimme gimme gimme.]
“…For real?”
An unexpected stroke of luck happened.
