Childhood fun, Shi Yun live

Chapter 25 (Part 2) • 1,977 words • 17 min read

He looked strangely at An Huaixu, who was sitting opposite him: “You’re here, then who’s driving?”

He tilted his head, and Shi Yun’s determined face entered his view.

He: “…Teacher An, you know, I’m only 24 this year, I don’t want to die yet.”

An Huaixu read the message but didn’t reply.

Pin Chi closed his eyes and hardened his heart. ‘Fine, at worst, I’ll be a hero again in ten years!’

“Alright, Xiao Yun, the throttle is on the right, don’t—Oww!”

The tricycle jolted forward again, bouncing and swerving as it sped along the bumpy dirt road.

Shi Yun, however, was quite happy, his boisterous laughter echoing throughout the mountain.

An Huaixu, who had already anticipated this, disdainfully pushed aside Pin Chi, who was slumped against his leg, half-dead from nausea.

Thanks to Shi Yun, they arrived at the kindergarten at twice the speed they came.

Qi Guang and Qiao Yu had already finished painting the exterior walls on both sides of the gate and were resting in the courtyard. Hearing the noise, they came out to greet them.

Qi Guang patted the tricycle’s canopy, surprised: “Oh, where did this come from, it’s so cool!”

The canopy shook, Pin Chi, pale-faced, staggered out of the vehicle. Before he could say a word, he leaned against the wall and started to vomit violently: “Ugh!”

Qi Guang watched helplessly as his freshly painted white wall was marred by a paw print, his heart aching: “You rotten kid!”

Jiang Song didn’t understand what was going on. He patted Pin Chi’s back and said humorously: “What happened?”

Pin Chi said weakly: “I almost died in that car. I’m going to have psychological trauma about riding in vehicles from now on.”

Shi Yun scratched his head: “But…”

Before he could finish, An Huaixu hooked an arm over his shoulder and led him away: “Help me move things.”

Shi Yun handed the water to Jiang Song, made an apologetic gesture, and hurried off after An Huaixu.

He said he was helping, but Shi Yun’s main role was actually following An Huaixu, who was carrying things on his left shoulder and in his right hand:

“You should still give me some, I’m quite strong… You don’t believe me?” He flexed his arm: “Look at my muscles!”

Jiang Song watched their retreating figures and laughed silently: “These two.”

Five or six minutes later, An Huaixu set down the last bag of items.

Shi Yun checked the procurement list: “Radishes, cabbage, lettuce, rapeseed… Director, the items are all here!”

Director Zhang walked out and took over the remaining work: “Congratulations to both teachers for completing the task and winning three tricycles for the kindergarten!”

Among the six guests, Qi Guang was the happiest: “That means travel will be convenient from now on. To be honest, my leg hurt all night after walking yesterday.”

Pin Chi had recovered somewhat. Leaning against Jiang Song, he joined the conversation:

“I thought it was temporary, but I didn’t expect the production team to be so generous, two thumbs up for you guys!”

He turned his head: “Where are the bikes?”

Director Zhang pushed open the back courtyard door. Instantly, three tricycles – red, green, and pink – were neatly lined up in the courtyard.

Under the sunlight, their paint gleamed, comparable to a Maserati.

Director Zhang handed a key to each class. To be safe, he asked: “You all know how to drive a tricycle, right?”

Pin Chi: “I am—Ugh!” His nausea surged again, and he ran to the side to vomit.

Qiao Yu: “I have a tricycle driver’s license.”

Jiang Song also raised his hand.

Pin Chi looked half-dead: “Teacher Wei, you might have to be the driver for a while. I think I’m traumatized by this thing.”

Weizi Yu rarely heard him say he was afraid of anything, and said curiously:

“Teacher Shi’s driving skills are that wild? I was actually looking forward to trying it.”

Pin Chi: “…I’ve seen people afraid of death, but this is the first time I’ve seen someone asking for it.”

Shi Yun was called over by Director Lin and happened to hear this sentence from the live broadcast screen.

He continued to reflect: “My driving skills really seem quite poor.”

Director Lin laughed heartily: “How is it, Xiao Shi? Are you used to the cameras now?”

Shi Yun sat next to Director Lin, took the juice handed by the data team leader, and said apologetically:

“I actually often forget about this when I’m engrossed in work. I haven’t caused any more trouble for the production team, have I?”

Director Lin waved his hand: “I should be thanking you for helping us break ten million in popularity!”

Shi Yun had no concept of this, he just felt it was a very large number.

Director Lin then explained why he called him over:

“Xiao Shi, it’s like this. Our production team, to celebrate breaking ten million in popularity, launched a ‘Wish Collection’ on MicroBlog.

Many fans want you to do a live broadcast of your work content in the parent-child variety show.”

Shi Yun didn’t quite understand: “Am I supposed to carry a camera for a day?”

The data team leader couldn’t hold back a laugh: “Of course not, you can live stream with a phone, just hold your phone!”

Director Lin didn’t want to force Shi Yun: “Shi Yun, in terms of popularity, if you’re willing, I’d certainly be happy, but psychologically, I’d feel bad.”

He listed the pros and cons: “If you live stream, in a sense, it’s truly ‘appearing on screen.’

It will bring considerable traffic to the production team, but this thing is a double-edged sword; with good reviews come bad ones, and you might not be able to handle it.”

Shi Yun didn’t hesitate: “I can. You and the production team have made the children so happy; I haven’t been able to thank you properly. I don’t often go online to read these things, and comments don’t affect me much.

If Director Lin, you can accept that I don’t understand these things at all, then I definitely have no problem.”

Director Lin paused for a moment, then smiled:

“I actually guessed you’d say that. Then let’s set it for this afternoon’s practical activities. Don’t be nervous; I’ll have staff help you with the filming.

Xiao Xiao, you’ll teach Xiao Shi a bit later. Promotions will send out a notice, starting at two o’clock.”

Data team leader: “Task guaranteed.”

On MicroBlog:

[《I Have My Love》Official: Congratulations @SurroundingDeerIslandRealm for a successful wish! This afternoon at 2 PM, a new Teacher Shi daily activity live stream will be added! (Live stream link)]

Replies quickly followed below the post:

[The Big-Mouthed Wagga who loves shipping AS: OMG, it’s New Year’s!]

[Sweet AS Protector: I smelled it and came running, what a good thing, take a bite, sweet!]

[SurroundingDeerIslandRealm: I’m going to buy a lottery ticket!]

At two in the afternoon, Shi Yun opened the live stream as requested. He didn’t need to appear on screen, just hold his phone and film the scene.

The number of viewers in the live stream rapidly increased, quickly soaring to over 100,000.

Shi Yun thought it would be similar to watching a live stream, but realizing he was in the same frame with so many netizens was completely different from what he imagined; he felt a subtle nervousness.

The data team leader noticed Shi Yun’s unease and typed a message on his phone—‘You can interact more with the bullet comments; it will be a bit more relaxing.’

The bullet comments flooded in, making it hard to keep up. Shi Yun earnestly caught one and softly replied: “I am a living person.”

[Hahaha, I almost thought the streamer was mute!]

[The streamer is so cute, can you call me ‘wife’ twice to try it out?!]

Shi Yun noticed them using words he didn’t understand: “What is ‘zhubao’ (streamer)?”

When encountering something odd, he would earnestly explain: “‘Wife’ can’t be called casually… So ‘zhubao’ means ‘the host protects me,’ I learned something new.”

[Don’t talk nonsense, this silly child actually believes it!]

[May I ask if you and An Huaixu are real?]

“Real, we are real people.” He flipped through the bullet comments, muttering in confusion:

“Why do they ask if I’m a living person, and then ask if I’m a real person? Can fake people live stream too?”

[How do you see An Huaixu?]

Shi Yun got into a rhythm. After enthusiastically answering, he would often ask them back: “I usually see with my eyes, what about you?”

[Is An Huaixu different with you than with others?]

“Teacher An is good to everyone.” Shi Yun spoke more when An Huaixu was mentioned.

He thought of the false rumors online and righteeously defended him: “He cares about the children, teaches seriously, actively helps me, and even brings me candy. He’s a super nice person, he just doesn’t talk much and isn’t good at expressing himself. You guys shouldn’t scold him anymore.”

Shi Yun was about to continue reading when he suddenly noticed An Huaixu putting away his phone and walking towards him.

From the live stream viewers’ perspective, An Huaixu moved from far to near, quickly appearing in the frame and then disappearing at the edge, clearly standing beside Shi Yun.

[What are you doing? Flip the camera around, let me see!]

[Judging by the shadow, they’re standing super close!]

[Oh my goodness, oh my goodness, I boldly guess An Huaixu was squatting in Teacher Shi’s live stream with an alt account just now!]

[I saw An Huaixu blush!]

Blush?

Shi Yun curiously stared at An Huaixu, finding no unusual expression on his face, only his earlobes were a bit red.

However, he had been sitting under the sun just now, so he must have been hot.

“Still adapting?” An Huaixu handed him a piece of candy.

Shi Yun replied: “Not bad, chatting with them is fun.”

“Mm, we’re going to do a task soon. Don’t bother with them anymore, they don’t say nice things.”

An Huaixu unwrapped the candy and handed it to Shi Yun.

Shi Yun was pondering An Huaixu’s remark, and subconsciously, using An Huaixu’s hand, took the candy into his mouth.

A dark glint flashed in An Huaixu’s eyes. He silently lowered his hand, his fingers tracing the warm spot where Shi Yun had touched.

[Teacher Shi, how exactly do you define ‘doesn’t talk much’?]

[I’ve never seen An Huaixu be so gentle with anyone; my ears are getting pregnant.]

[Knock knock, I just saw An Huaixu feed Teacher Shi candy in the main live stream. Their interaction was so natural and sweet, they’re real!]

[Please record it!]

“Please record it?” Shi Yun moved his phone towards An Huaixu: “Why are they all asking for a recording? What recording?”

An Huaixu took a deep breath: “It’s nothing.”

He warned the live stream viewers again: “Don’t do anything useless.”

[Okay, the ‘Unfamiliar Brother’ got angry for a bit.]

[It’s fine, who cares if ‘Unfamiliar Brother’ is unfamiliar, we’re familiar with Teacher Shi, let’s ignore him!]

Shi Yun was very curious: “Teacher An, do you know ‘Unfamiliar Brother’? Why are all the bullet comments talking about him?”

The ‘Unfamiliar Brother’ himself, without blushing or heart fluttering, said: “I don’t know him.”

[Hahahaha I’m dying of laughter, An Huaixu, you should be grateful our Teacher Shi doesn’t often check MicroBlog!]

[The comedic timing is too perfect, I don’t know which part to laugh at first.]

[An Huaixu is acting as if it’s real.]

Shi Yun nodded: “Then they must have come to the wrong live stream.”

An Huaixu agreed: “Mm, kick them out.”

Shi Yun: “Can I kick people out? How do I kick them? Do I conjure a little person to give them a kick?”

As he spoke, he accidentally clicked the camera flip button.
