Chapter 26: Are there any priests or paladins?

[Lené]

[Tagirion Raid. The Heretic Exile]

[New Dimension | 16 viewers | 0:00:32]

The Tagirion Raid, which can be challenged once a week in the Castle of kliphoth, is currently one of the final content in New Dimension.

Well, the community calls it the final content, but none of the players actually know if it really is the final content or not.

The New Dimension developers never post any announcements when they add new content. The only things they announce are balance adjustments or similar matters.

They say it’s more fun for players to discover new content for themselves.

The Tagirion Raid, too, was discovered by a player who happened to stumble upon it while exploring the continent.

Anyway, the Tagirion Raid is one of the final challenges in New Dimension.

But if you really think about it, it’s already old news for the players on the frontlines. About four months ago, a party figured out all the raid’s patterns and cleared it.

Once a raid’s patterns are fully analyzed and a party clears it, the raid essentially turns into a ‘routine’ of sorts.

Of course, for newer players, the Tagirion Raid is still a major goal, and even for top players, they gather at kliphoth’s Castle whenever the entry restriction resets to acquire the final gear and rewards.

And so, today, Kliphoth’s Castle is bustling with many players.

“Hmm. Shall we start recruiting for the party?”

─No priests or paladins allowed?

“Yes, we’re not accepting them. Our party doesn’t allow heretics…”

─How do you plan to clear without them?

– Isn’t it too hard without a paladin?

“It’s not hard at all…”

Just as I mentioned in the chat, there’s talk in the community now and then about this. Some say heretics are too essential in raids.

They claim that self-proclaimed priests’ buff effects are too good, and self-proclaimed paladins’ tanking abilities are so powerful that other classes feel weaker by comparison, and the difference in success rates is too drastic.

But I can confidently say that’s all nonsense.

Saying it’s impossible to clear a raid without heretics?

Then what does that make the raid parties I’ve led until now?

Ever since the patterns were figured out, my party hasn’t retreated from the Tagirion Raid even once.

The fact that this is being brought up in my chat right now just shows how deeply heretics have manipulated and brainwashed people.

So today, I’ll break that misconception for at least my viewers.

“Once the raid starts, I’ll explain everything, so just wait a moment. Saying heretics are essential is just absolutely not true…”

─Your confidence is something else lol

─Has anyone raided with this guy?

─Stop the hatred against the Elune Order

[Tagirion Raid Party Recruitment. Absolutely No Heretics | Heretic Inquisitor | Traveler]

As soon as the recruitment started, the 35-member limit filled up quickly.

After checking, I saw that, excluding myself, there were 6 tanks, 19 DPS, and 9 support players.

Satisfied with the composition, I immediately made my way to the Castle of Kliphoth and opened its gates.

Creak.

The moment the unpleasant sound pierced my ears, my vision suddenly went black.

It was evidence that all party members had accepted entry into the Tagirion raid. Once my vision brightened again, I looked around and saw that all 35 members, including myself, were standing at the starting point of the raid, the “Garden of Hunger.”

[Inquisitor: Hello]

“Let’s do our best.”

“How should we set up?”

As I, the party leader, greeted them, the surroundings became lively in an instant. Some familiar nicknames were present, and others were new to me.

[Inquisitor: You all know the patterns, right?]

All the party members nodded in response to my question. Just to be sure, I checked everyone’s specs, and it didn’t seem like a lie.

[Inquisitor: Then, let’s have Martial Artist Arpio as the main tank, and the rest as sub-tanks. DPS, survive on your own while dealing damage.]

“Is there no specific order for instructions?”

[Inquisitor: No. If you each just do your job, we can clear it easily.]

It wasn’t a lie. If everyone had memorized the patterns, it made sense that we didn’t need instructions to succeed.

But a few party members with unfamiliar nicknames and some of my stream viewers seemed to think otherwise.

– “They’re definitely going to die to the 100% laser pattern, lol.”

– “This stubbornness seems pointless.”

– “Is it really okay for the party leader to not give any orders??”

– “This is going to be rough, lol.”

“Hmm….”

Why is it that no one seems to believe me?

Do I really lack that much credibility? Honestly, I thought my PvP streams were enough proof of my skills.

Well, leaving aside the viewers, it’s possible that some of the party members directly participating in the raid might feel that way….

“Excuse me, party leader. Do we not have any priests or paladins?”

…What? Did I hear that right?

[Inquisitor: Huh?]

– “We’re screwed.”

– “Lololol.”

– “Triggered.”

– “Hold it in, Lene! Hold it in, Lene! Hold it in, Lene! Lol”

– “It’s already hard enough without priests or paladins, but now with no instructions either, this is gonna be too tough.”

“Sigh….”

A sigh escaped me.

It’s understandable if they’re surprised by the lack of instructions. I can accept that. But I never expected someone to complain about the lack of priests.

– “Isn’t this a reasonable complaint though? Lol.”

– “Whoa.”

– “Is it weird that the sound of that sigh is kinda hot?”

– “She sighs right away when something annoys her, huh, lol.”

– “She’s probably holding back from cursing, lol.”

– “What does this guy think a priest or paladin even is…”

─ “Lene noona, please don’t curse. I’m scared ㅠㅠ.”

“I didn’t curse, and stop calling me ‘noona’….”

And as if they thought they had caught onto something with my sigh, countless messages started flooding the chat instantly.

It made me question whether this chat was really only used by 16 people.

I thought there were no heretics among my viewers, but the roots of malice spread by the heretics seemed to be more deeply embedded in people’s hearts than I had expected.

However, helping these people break free from the roots of malice is undoubtedly the role of a Heretic Inquisitor like me.

“Leader? Could you answer….”

[Heretic Inquisitor: I stated from the beginning, no heretics allowed.]

[Heretic Inquisitor: Didn’t I say that each person doing their part can clear this without commands?]

[Heretic Inquisitor: Are you really that unsure of your skills, Triytou?]

“Well, that’s not really….”

[Heretic Inquisitor: It’s okay. I understand.]

[Heretic Inquisitor: Honestly, this raid party feels very different from others, right?]

[Heretic Inquisitor: But still, trust me. Triytou, you can do it.]

[Heretic Inquisitor: No, at times like this, it’s not me you should trust.]

[Heretic Inquisitor: Triytou, you need to believe in yourself.]

[Heretic Inquisitor: Just trust the Triytou that I believe in.]

– “Chat speed is insane ㅋㅋ.”

– “The power of trolling experience ㅋㅋ.”

– “Cheesy anime line ON ㅋㅋ.”

Typing six messages every time someone speaks.

“Ah, okay…. I’ll try my best.”

Luckily, the person trapped in the pit of heresy seemed to have repented, even if just a little.

The chat window had calmed down quite a bit, too.

“Everyone, now I’ll show you why I said heretics aren’t needed. And for the record, I’ve never trolled on NewD Gallery, and I’m not your noona.”

After that, I spoke one last time to the viewers.

[Heretic Inquisitor: Then let’s begin.]

I stepped forward to start the Tagirion raid.

Triytou  class: Mage.

He was a player who had only experienced the Tagirion raid twice before.

However, he was a so-called “prepared newbie,” who had thoroughly studied all the patterns from the start.

But precisely because of that, he couldn’t understand the actions of the current party leader.

Even though NewD allows all players to learn skills regardless of class, completely ignoring the additional effects certain classes receive when learning specific skills was impossible.

That was the opinion of most NewD players, except for a few, and the core of the Tagirion raid was “how well the tank could endure.”

In such a raid, the essential classes were Paladin, who could tank better than most other classes, and Priest, whose healing skills increased in power.

On top of that, Paladins benefited from additional effects when using Priest’s skills, making them even more indispensable.

**

“I really don’t think this is going to work….”

Worrying that they might just be wasting time, let out a quiet sigh, careful not to let the party leader, ‘Heretic Inquisitor,’ hear it.

“Are you worried?”

Then, the person who spoke to him from the side was a spearman user with the nickname ‘Se-Ah.’

“…Honestly, I’m a bit worried. We don’t have a priest or paladin, and the party leader isn’t giving any orders.”

“Heheh. This is your first time in the Inquisitor’s party, isn’t it?”

“…Yes.”

Se-Ah smiled brightly, as if she had no concerns at all.

“Don’t worry. We’ll clear it, no matter what. I guarantee it.”

Her voice carried confidence.

And it didn’t take long for Triytou to realize the reason for that confidence.
