Chapter 26 : Mistake

Why did I cover the game screen and start matching?

The catastrophe of banning Yone during the ban process did not happen.

“This is my first game with Yone… No matter how I think about it, it’s a nuisance…”

“It’s okay. I’ll do as much as Curry-nim’s share.”

[What a load of crap lol]

[Curry, just accept it]

[If you can’t avoid it, you have to enjoy it]

[Look at them talking recklessly since it’s not their business]

[Just watching the second collab is enough entertainment]

[My entertainment, my child is someone else’s]

[Miserable… miserable… miserable…]

[Why is your child someone else’s, you crazy b*tch lol]

Despite my confirmation, Curry kept worrying.

That worry continued until the timer reached one.

Curry, who had been silent, asked me for confirmation again.

“…Really picking it. You have to handle it.”

“I’ve already handled a lot during the first broadcast.”

I teased Curry for wasting time, and Curry immediately picked Yone.

Did he get upset?

[Oh, that’s right lol]

[I carried Curry’s pocket for three hours]

“Just kidding, kidding. Curry-nim did well enough, so it wasn’t that hard.”

I offered a comforting word so Curry wouldn’t get upset.

Curry answered in a low, weak voice.

“Please be clear if it’s a compliment or a tease…”

“If you have a clue… you would know.”

“…I’m the sinner, yes.”

Ah, so enjoyable.

I wanted to tease more.

Such thoughts kept coming up.

But I didn’t tease any further.

I’m the type who saves the best part of a meal for last.

[Oh, I can’t get used to spicy talk]

[Today’s snack is a bit spicy]

[I can’t breathe]

[Their conversation makes me uncomfortable]

[That’s because you’ve never talked to a girl…]

[Wide area attack, you b*tch]

[Host! Get rid of the deceiver!]

As I talked with Curry, the ban-pick process was finally completed.

The jungle champion I picked was the top-tier Elise.

Actually, I could have made various entertainment picks.

But ‘Barcode’ had to be a serious ‘pure skilled player’.

If I showed a similar side to Curry’s notorious sniper ‘Nayeon Queen’, the Sherlocks in the room could figure out my identity.

Although the chance of Barcode playing for fun and revealing my identity was extremely low, I wanted to eliminate any possibility, so I decided to only pick champions with guaranteed performance.

Ah, of course, I’ll still play for fun when sniping as Nayeon Queen.

I have a mountain of new meta builds I want to try, so I’ll torment them thoroughly after the collab.

Lost in such thoughts, the game started before I knew it.

[Blue Team]

TOP: Ornn

JG: Elise

MID: Yone

AD: Miss Fortune

SUP: Ashe

Vs

[Purple Team]

TOP: Renekton

JG: Amumu

MID: Kassadin

AD: Kai’Sa

SUP: Alistar

Curry had never played Yone before.

Being a top lane only player, Curry was unfamiliar with other lanes.

Many wondered how he could only play top lane.

Curry, however, couldn’t understand people who dug other wells when one wasn’t enough.

To put it nicely, he was persistent; put bluntly, he had no fallback.

That didn’t mean he couldn’t play other lanes at all.

His skills just dropped from Diamond 1 to Diamond 4 level when he played other lanes.

He had a basic understanding of lane concepts.

So, Curry was more worried than excited about the second broadcast with Barcode.

He kept wondering if he could do well, but he had no choice.

A low-energy, nervous Curry, unlike his usual confident self.

However, seeing the enemy mid champion, even Curry couldn’t help but heat up.

The enemy picked Kassadin, a counter to AP.

Curry had first picked Yone, and Yone was AD.

Kassadin had a disadvantage against AD champions, yet they picked him after Curry’s Yone?

It seemed like a blatant disregard.

[Minions have spawned.]

Determined to win, Curry waited for the minions.

Not long after, the minions arrived at the lane.

The laning phase against Kassadin began.

Typically, Kassadin would take Q at level 1 for sure and poke.

Of course, that was only the case if the opponent was a ranged, AP champion.

“Curry-nim, Kassadin took W at level 1. Don’t give him distance and poke with Q when he last-hits minions.”

“How did you know Kassadin took W at level 1… Ornn.”

Curry questioned Barcode’s advice as soon as the laning phase started.

But that question was answered when he saw Kassadin’s basic attack damage higher than normal attack power.

Kassadin’s W had a passive effect that added damage to his basic attacks.

Following Barcode’s advice, Curry poked Kassadin with Q whenever he went for minion last-hits.

“I’ll try a 3-camp level 3 gank. Keep the lane as it is and get ready with E for follow-up.”

“Understood.”

Following Barcode’s orders, Curry took E and kept the lane neither pushing nor pulling.

As a result, when the cannon wave arrived, Elise attempted a gank from the upper river.

Elise’s cocoon hit Kassadin among the minions, and Curry followed up with an E enhanced Q combo.

[First Blood!]

Kassadin, with no mobility before learning his ultimate, was helplessly killed.

With his Flash down, the laning phase would be greatly in Yone’s favor from now on.

Pushing the lane and recalling, Curry bought two daggers for attack speed and a health potion.

Returning to the lane, Curry harassed Kassadin, who was trying to push one more wave relying on the big wave.

Due to the large number of minions, both Yone’s and Kassadin’s health dropped below half.

To chase Kassadin who was trying to retreat moderately, Curry used E forward and then used an enhanced Q to close the distance.

He mixed basic attacks and Q to accumulate as much damage as possible, but the mark color was still red.

Kassadin had already entered the tower, and Curry used Q-Flash to finish him off.

However, what Curry’s Yone showed was not Q-Flash, but Flash-Q.

Normally, he could have caught him with Q-Flash, but due to the wrong order, he failed by a hair’s breadth.

In the end, Curry had to use E to return empty-handed and swallowed his saliva.

“Curry-nim.”

“Yes, yes!”

Hearing the cold voice, Curry tensed up.

“People can make mistakes.”

“O-Of course!”

“Really?”

“…Actually, mistakes should not be made in the first place. I must have been out of my mind for a moment.”

He couldn’t breathe.

His body might be breathing, but his mind felt like it had sunk to the depths of the ocean.

“It’s your first game with Yone, so I understand.”

“But isn’t the basic combo like Q-Flash something you usually do well?”

“I do it often and well usually!”

Curry felt extremely tired.

He felt that if someone told him to lay his head on the desk and sleep right now, he could fall asleep immediately.

Internally, Curry prayed that someone would save him from this situation.

“It’s okay. Just do well from now on. But as a teacher, if Curry-nim doesn’t show improvement…”

“I’ll work hard!”

“So you weren’t working hard until now?”

“No, I mean, I’ll work even harder.”

“Is that so?”

I remembered getting scolded by my homeroom teacher at the back of the classroom for not doing my homework during school days.

Getting scolded in front of dozens of classmates was quite tiring.

Curry could see the image of his old teacher who scolded him from Barcode.

I never thought I’d feel this way as an adult.

Swallowing the bitterness, Curry focused back on the game.

Whether young or grown-up, he hated getting scolded.

“The enemy Amumu and Alistar are below, escape with your ultimate.”

“Stack 2 and EQ-Flash ultimate combo for a kill on Kassadin”

“Use the double wall jump I taught you today to escape! Well done.”

After that, Curry acted diligently according to Barcode-sensei’s advice.

With a diamond’s vision, it was impossible to see a challenger’s ‘opportunity’.

Following the advice, he really could continue to accumulate advantages through invisible opportunities.

The game ended smoothly with Elise and Yone carrying.

After finishing the game, Curry took his hands off the mouse and keyboard and looked at his hands.

‘I… might have a talent for Yone?’

Carrying hard from the first game.

Even though there was advice from a challenger Yone master.

You need the skill to execute the advice.

Although he might not have full understanding of Yone, his ‘physical’ skill must be real, right?

Maybe he has a talent for Yone?

Just as those thoughts crossed his mind, Barcode’s praise continued.

“You did better than I expected for a first game.”

“Really? You’re not going to say ‘just kidding~’ when I nod, right?”

“I’m not that bad of a person.”

For some reason, hearing the praise made him feel bad.

Curry shook his head and answered inwardly.

No.

You’re a bad person.

I’ve been through so much during today’s broadcast.

Curry kept his mouth shut tightly to prevent his thoughts from coming out.

Then he left the game, accepted Barcode’s invitation, and started matching again.

It didn’t take long for the match to be found.

[You have entered.] Nayeon Queen has entered.

[Ilillilill has entered.]

[Lonely Gourmet has entered.]

[Curry Pirate Crew Captain No.1 has entered.]

Curry shuddered at the familiar nicknames in the waiting room.

Dealing with Barcode was already overwhelming, and now Nayeon Queen was sniping in this situation?

“Matched with Nayeon Queen?” Huh…

“Oh, that b*stard… Do you know Nayeon?”

Curry was surprised and asked when Barcode pretended to know about Nayeon Queen.

“Of course, I know well. They often appear on your broadcast, right?”

“Uh… Do you often watch my broadcast?”

“Yes.”

“Why didn’t you tell me?”

“Because you didn’t ask, Curry-nim?”

Curry felt dizzy again.

He had suspected it since Barcode started teasing him during the first broadcast.

But he never thought Barcode was a regular viewer of his stream.

“This game will be fun.”

“Oh…”

Curry let out a tired sound.

Not just one, but two troublemakers?

And the nickname of the allied ADC was also unusual.

It was blatantly advertising, ‘I’m a sniper.’

Is this all karma?

Just as he was thinking that, a dodge happened.

“What a pity.”

“Not at all.”

Curry was genuinely relieved.

The second broadcast with Curry ended smoothly.

Thanks to my excellent coaching, Curry achieved the feat of carrying three consecutive games with Yone.

I wanted to do more, but Curry handled Yone better than I expected, so there was no more coaching needed.

Moreover, Curry’s voice was thick with fatigue, so I decided to let him go.

I was satisfied enough today.

[Don’t go!]

[QnA session?]

[I want to hear your voice…]

[ASMR with a contemptuous voice, please]

[Ugh…]

[I almost said, ‘Go die, you b*stard.’]

[Ugh… you idiot. I said it for you]

[Who do you like more, Wandering Swordsman or Curry?]

As the end of the broadcast approached, various chats came up.

I didn’t know when I would stream again after today.

At least, I didn’t plan to stream often.

I realized that streaming was much more exhausting than I thought.

I clasped my hands together and slowly stretched them forward.

After stretching them fully, I raised them up and stretched.

“Ugh…”

My stiff body loosened up, and I let out a sound without realizing it.

To end the broadcast, I lowered my stretching hands onto the desk.

Thud-

In the process, my hand hit the camera.

The camera angle tilted from below to above.

I quickly moved my hand to return the camera to its original angle.

The previously tilted camera angle clearly pointed at my face.

The only thought that came to mind as I recalled the recent scene was one.

Ah, I messed up.
