After listening to Ye Qing’s analysis, everyone except Chenlian fell into deep thought.
After a brief silence, Lin Yuxuan spoke first, furrowing her brows and saying in an extremely dissatisfied voice, “That’s it? Don’t you think the instructions are too sparse?”
“No!”
Fuzi closed her eyes and slowly shook her head to indicate negation.
After opening her eyes, Fuzi calmly explained the reason behind this.
“The fact that we could even convey these instructions is already quite good.
Actually, everything I just said was translated from codes sent by the organization’s infiltrator.
After all, the amount of information that can be carried in codes is very limited.”
“But!”
Lin Yuxuan stomped her foot anxiously.
“With so little information, we have no idea what to do!
Are we just supposed to wait here and leave everything to Chenlian and that person to solve?
I don’t agree with this plan!
It’s far too dangerous!”
After stating her concerns, Lin Yuxuan rejected the plan with a firm and anxious voice.
Ye Qing sighed, then countered Yuxuan’s words with an undeniable, serious attitude.
“Yuxuan!
This is our only choice.
They came prepared.
Even if we both worked together, we couldn’t break through the encirclement.
The only thing we can do now is trust that infiltrator!
Didn’t Sister Fuzi also say so?
That person is a highly skilled trickster who managed to infiltrate the inspectors!”
Fuzi, looking troubled, closed her eyes and rubbed her forehead, then spoke in a pained voice.
“Although he’s not exactly a trickster, bluffing is certainly that person’s specialty.
Yuxuan, Ye Qing is right.
This is our only choice.
Just think of it as trusting me, and trusting that person.”
Fuzi pleaded with Lin Yuxuan in a very earnest manner.
“Ah, ah, ah! I get it!
Just trust them, alright—”
Lin Yuxuan’s shout, as if giving up, directed at the ceiling, was interrupted by the doorbell.
“They’re here!
Remember!
Absolutely do not resist!
Once we make a move, everything will be ruined,”
Ye Qing calmly instructed everyone.
Lin Yuxuan and Fuzi both nodded firmly with resolve.
Chenlian also nodded, though she was at a loss and didn’t understand anything.
“Chenlian!”
As always, Fuzi cupped Chenlian’s pale cheeks in both hands and spoke to her with an extremely serious expression.
“No matter what happens, don’t panic!
We will protect you from behind.
Do you understand?”
Influenced by Fuzi, Chenlian tensed up with an equally serious expression and nodded firmly to Fuzi.
“Mm!”
One could hear the resolve in Chenlian’s voice.
It seemed she understood the gravity of the situation.
Fuzi lowered her hands, softened her expression, and said to Chenlian with a gentle smile, “Go, Chenlian.”
She gave Chenlian a gentle push on the back, sending her toward the entrance.
Ye Qing and Yuxuan also walked to the entrance, their nerves tense as they looked toward the villa’s large door.
Chenlian was gently pushed to the door.
With unease, she slowly turned her head back to look at the three people standing behind her.
Her purple pupils were trembling slightly, and her expression carried a hint of bewilderment.
In response, all three showed Chenlian a smile.
Fuzi smiled gently and nodded slowly.
Lin Yuxuan nodded deeply with an energetic, determined attitude.
Ye Qing gave a light, calm smile and nodded slightly.
Encouraged by her loved ones, Chenlian’s expression also became resolute.
She nodded deeply to the three, then turned back to face the door.
Chenlian took a deep breath, reached out, and grasped the door handle.
After hesitating for a moment, Chenlian finally made up her mind and turned the handle.
With a “click,” the morning sunlight poured in from outside.
At the same time, three tall men in black sunglasses stepped into the entrance from outside.
Two of them were carrying large firearms with a caliber of about four centimeters.
At the hollow center, an iron cone surrounded by several electromagnetic coils extended outward.
There were openings on the left and right, with magnetic poles above and below.
At this moment, they were in a critical state, emitting faint, dark blue electrical sparks.
These were handheld electromagnetic guns with barrels nearly one meter long.
These weapons were mainly used for paralysis, but due to the extremely high amount of charge they emitted, an ordinary person would die on the spot after being hit three times.
They were extremely effective weapons against any living creature—including Variants.
The two burly men in black carrying the electromagnetic guns stopped outside the entrance, assuming firing positions and aiming at everyone inside.
The leader, slightly thinner than the two burly men behind him, walked up to Chenlian.
He glanced around the room at the three people watching him with tense nerves, and at the pink-haired girl standing somewhat confused before him.
The man in black, standing about 1.78 meters tall—a full head taller than Chenlian—first reached into his clothes and took out a leather-bound identification card to show everyone.
After letting everyone see it, he put it back inside his clothes.
Then he crouched down and held out something gray, resembling a pill, in front of Chenlian.
A relaxed smile appeared at the corners of his mouth.
In a young man’s playful voice that did not match his attire, he said to Chenlian, who still looked completely lost, “Little sister, take this candy!
It’ll make things much easier~!”
He even tilted his head up slightly, as if teasing.
All three knew this was nothing good.
Consuming it would certainly bring adverse effects on the body.
A sedative?
A slow-acting poison that only they could antidote?
Or a strong toxin that could immediately incapacitate someone?
Whichever it was, once taken, escape would become impossible.
This was the instruction for unconditional compliance.
Even knowing it was “poison,” they would have to grit their teeth and take it.
Facing the large muzzles of the electromagnetic guns, the three did not show much emotional fluctuation.
But making Chenlian swallow something like this—Fuzi, as Chenlian’s current mother, was clearly having difficulty enduring it.
One could see Fuzi breathing heavily to calm her emotions, her hands clenched so tightly that her nails were nearly digging into her flesh, her body quite stiff.
Ye Qing, standing at the front leaning against the wall with the large leather bag still slung behind his back, noticed Fuzi’s state out of the corner of his eye.
He immediately signaled to Lin Yuxuan, who was standing behind him next to Fuzi.
Lin Yuxuan gave a slight nod to show she understood, then cautiously and slowly moved to Fuzi’s side so as not to trigger the inspectors.
She grabbed Fuzi’s tightly clenched hand, forcibly pried it open, and firmly held Fuzi’s pale hand in her own.
After sensing the message Yuxuan was conveying, Fuzi closed her eyes and took a deep breath, then showed Yuxuan a somewhat strained wry smile.
Seeing that Fuzi had calmed down somewhat, Ye Qing withdrew his peripheral attention and focused entirely on the men in black.
Chenlian slowly took the “candy” and hesitated in front of her mouth.
Perhaps instinctively sensing the danger contained within, Chenlian froze for a moment with the “candy” in her hand.
After a moment, Chenlian put the “candy” into her mouth without hesitation.
As if swallowing a stone, Chenlian tilted her head back and forced the “unknown object” down, fighting against her body’s instinctive rejection.
A faint, clear female whimper came from behind.
Fuzi had used all her strength to cover her mouth before making a sound.
Her eyes were red with emotion, tears streaming down her face.
All Lin Yuxuan could do was grip Fuzi’s trembling hand even tighter, gritting her teeth as she endured.
‘This is bad,’
Ye Qing glanced back once more at the situation behind him.
His mind remained calm and collected as he analyzed.
‘Even before the first condition has occurred, we’re already like this.
Sister Fuzi’s feelings are too strong.
Yuxuan will have to handle this.
I’ll be the last line of defense.’
With this thought, Ye Qing narrowed his eyes and gave Lin Yuxuan a fierce glare as a signal.
In response, Lin Yuxuan glared back just as fiercely.
Then Ye Qing jerked his chin slightly, indicating, ‘Everything depends on you.’
Lin Yuxuan nodded calmly with an almost cold expression, indicating that she was in a state of combat readiness, able to respond to any sudden action from Fuzi at a moment’s notice.
Ye Qing withdrew his peripheral attention again and looked toward the man in black.
But then Ye Qing froze.
His eyes widened with nameless terror.
The man in black was now showing a sinister, cold smile.
He reached behind his back and produced a cold, pointed melee weapon that reflected a chilling gleam under the abundant sunlight.
“No!”
Fuzi, apparently unable to endure any longer, shouted and tried to rush forward.
At the same moment, one of the men in black standing outside the entrance raised his large electromagnetic gun and assumed an aiming posture.
‘Oh no!
He’s about to fire!’
Ye Qing quickly assessed that the man was about to pull the trigger and acted fast.
He leaped back one step and, in mid-air, pulled the large leather bag from his back to try and block the attack.
Lin Yuxuan quickly wrapped her arms around Fuzi’s waist.
Using a spinning technique, she stomped her right foot hard against the ground, using the reaction force to lift Fuzi’s body.
Then, using her right foot as a pivot, she swung Fuzi toward the living room.
By then, the electromagnetic gun was already in a firing state.
The intense charge gathered at the tip of the electromagnetic cone erupted in a brilliant, dark purple spark.
