The Silver Reaper’s Triumphant Return and a Gigantic Temptation

Chapter 27 • 1,817 words • 16 min read

It had been over half a month since Domu first appeared in this foreign world, and Mr. Tule had certainly kept his word. In just a short fortnight, through various promotional tactics and skillful hype, coupled with Domu’s formidable strength, the title of ‘Silver Reaper’ had spread from Morgan City across the entire continent.

Moreover, the Eye of Soaroka mercenary group had even ascended to an 8th-tier mercenary organization.

Within mere days, the mercenaries of Morgan City’s Adventurers’ Guild were in an extraordinary state of excitement. Not only had they witnessed terrifying creatures they could barely have imagined, but they had also personally borne witness to the birth of a legend.

With a resounding Bang!

The corpse of a colossal beast, resembling a small mountain, suddenly appeared at the entrance of the Adventurers’ Guild. Its lower lip bore massive tusks, and its entire body was covered in long, white fur.

Most terrifying of all were its dual claws, each bearing formidable talons a full two meters long. Coupled with its towering physique, no one doubted that a single, terrifying strike from this beast could breach a city wall.

Fortunately, the colossal beast now lay unconscious, its eyes rolled back, unceremoniously dumped before the guild’s doors.

“Heavens! Is this… is this the legendary Behemoth from the Frost Vein Snow Mountains in the north?”

“I’ve heard tales of this Behemoth in the taverns; they say it’s a super beast capable of fighting dragons! This is my first time seeing one with my own eyes!”

“Look! It’s Lord ‘Silver Reaper’!”

A tall figure, clad in pure white full-body armor, materialized beside the fearsome beast. Under the sunlight, the magnificent white battle armor seemed to glow with a layer of holy light.

All the mercenaries gazed unblinkingly at this demigod-level powerhouse.

“To witness the birth of a legend with my own eyes… truly, I can die without regrets.”

“Lord ‘Silver Reaper’! Lady Domu! I am your loyal fan! Please, just look at me! Aaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!”

“Look here, look here~ Ah~ Mm~ Lady Domu~ Oh my~ I can’t take it anymore~”

“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Lord ‘Silver Reaper’ looked at me! She looked at me! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!”

“Bullshit! She was looking at me! You shameless hussy!”

“Get… get lost, ugly wench! You’re just jealous of my beauty!”

Domu, ignoring the all-too-familiar scene, gracefully leaped from the Behemoth’s back. She approached a middle-aged man with golden eyes, clad in a white robe.

“Mr. Lament, the mission is complete. Do you require my assistance in transporting it?” Domu’s magnetic voice resonated from within her armor as she addressed the man in the white robe.

Mr. Lament, utterly captivated, was gazing at the colossal beast before him. His hands trembled uncontrollably, a testament to his inner excitement.

Upon hearing Domu’s words, he slowly turned, speaking with profound reverence.

“Lord ‘Silver Reaper’! You… you… are truly too powerful… Though I heard from Mr. Tule about your status as a demigod-level powerhouse, I still found it hard to believe. After all, the mission was only posted yesterday, yet it’s already complete by noon today… and you’ve truly captured this perfect… mighty Behemoth alive… Oh, forgive me, my Lady, my emotions are simply overwhelming right now. I’m a bit incoherent, I apologize for amusing you.”

“It’s quite alright, Mr. Lament,” Domu replied courteously.

“Lady Domu! The gates of the Happy Arena will forever be open for you; you shall be our most esteemed guest. My heartfelt thanks to you. With this legendary beast, our Happy Arena will ascend to new heights, attracting more patrons and generating greater wealth! Hahaha!”

“Lady Domu, I appreciate your kind offer, but I wish to spend more time with this adorable creature on the journey, to cultivate a bond. So, there’s no need to trouble you with personally assisting.”

As he envisioned the immense profits bringing a legendary beast could generate for the Happy Arena, Mr. Lament laughed incessantly, his mouth seemingly unable to close.

“Then I congratulate you in advance. By the way, Mr. Lament, I believe Mr. Tule should have conveyed the small request I made, correct?” Domu, not forgetting her promise to Dove and Soronna, inquired of Mr. Lament.

“Of course, I haven’t forgotten! I’ve already arranged for my subordinates to deliver it to your residence, my Lady. This was crafted by the finest artisans of our Happy Arena; it absolutely will not disappoint you!” Mr. Lament, still unable to conceal his excitement, spoke with a voice brimming with joy.

Hearing Mr. Lament’s words, Domu nodded. Observing him still captivated, ceaselessly stroking the fur of the fallen beast, Domu decided against further disturbing his enjoyment.

Under the admiring gazes of countless mercenaries, Domu made her way toward the dilapidated small inn. Though she now possessed a considerable amount of Is Coins, Domu still held a particular fondness for the luxurious bath in that humble establishment.

Moreover, Soronna had expressed that she was quite accustomed to living there and saw no need to move to a better place.

Thinking of seeing Dove soon, Domu quickened her pace considerably. She imagined Dove, upon seeing the surprise she had brought, would surely joyfully embrace her, nuzzling her little plump cheek against Domu’s neck over and over.

Hmm… plump cheeks,’ she mused. ‘It seems we’ve been eating a bit too well lately. I feel like Soronna and Dove have both gained some weight. While my own figure hasn’t changed, it looks like we’ll need to exercise a bit more restraint from now on.’

Arriving at the inn’s entrance, Domu couldn’t help but be astonished by the sight before her. A colossal cheese cheesecake stood proudly outside the quiet establishment.

This cheesecake boasted a radius of a full three meters, and it was encased within a magical protective barrier, a warding spell designed to keep dust away. The enormous cake now exuded a rich, intoxicating aroma, stimulating Domu’s taste buds.

‘Had I just said something about exercising dietary restraint?’ she thought. ‘Ah, it smells so good, I really want to eat it!’ At that moment, Domu felt her memories becoming somewhat muddled, overwhelmed by the potent aroma.

“Mama… Mama… is Dove in heaven?” Dove’s voice drifted from the inn’s doorway. Her eyes unfocused, she walked toward Domu like a zombie, her arms and legs moving in unison.

“Do… Dove… heaven is a place people go after they die… This isn’t heaven… it must be a dream…” Soronna, too, seemed like a puppet on strings, her entire being appearing somewhat listless.

“Dove, Soronna, do you remember? This is the gift I promised you!” Seeing Dove and Soronna, Domu’s mind gradually cleared. She concealed her armor, revealing her beautiful face and alluring figure, clad in a form-fitting combat suit.

Her ruby-like eyes curved into crescents with her smile.

Since Soronna had already cast a mind-disturbing array around the small inn, Domu wasn’t concerned about her true gender being discovered by others. As of yet, no one in Morgan City had proven capable of dispelling Soronna’s enchantment.

“Mama~~ Dove is so happy~” Hearing Domu’s voice, Dove snapped back to a semblance of awareness. She swiftly ran towards Domu, throwing herself into her open arms as Domu knelt.

Pressing her cheek against Domu’s, she rubbed back and forth incessantly, her soft, long white hair rippling like waves with her movements.

Hehe, that tickles, Dove,” Domu chuckled, unable to help herself as Dove nuzzled her.

“Domu, welcome back. You must have worked hard today!” Soronna, with her hands clasped in front of her and her pink twin pigtails resting on either shoulder, spoke softly, her head bowed, much like a young wife awaiting her husband’s return.

“Mm, Soronna, thank you both for taking care of Dove today! Why haven’t I seen Billy? And where are Kase and Os?” Seeing the demure Soronna before her, Domu felt a strange sensation in her heart.

To shake off this peculiar feeling, Domu attempted to change the subject.

“That idiot Kase! Because of all the free cake Domu brought back, he’s been eating like there’s no tomorrow every single meal! Now it’s like all that stored energy has suddenly erupted, and he can barely even walk!”

“Os is currently putting him and Billy on a diet!” As Kase was mentioned, the usually gentle and virtuous Soronna suddenly became agitated, clenching her fists, a furrow appearing between her brows.

“Hey~ Look, Os, do you smell that? Look, what do I see?! Heaven, Os!! How much does this cheesecake cost? It must be an astronomical sum! This luxurious cheese cheesecake, just smelling it makes me dizzy!”

“Don’t… don’t stop me, Os, I’ll just have one bite, just let me taste one bite! Please! Os… Os… I command you… muffled sounds.”

A familiar voice drifted over, and with a Bang!, the sound abruptly ceased.

“Os, this is prepared for everyone; we can’t possibly finish such a large cake by ourselves, so please, join us in eating—”

Seeing Os, Domu extended an enthusiastic invitation, but her words suddenly trailed off. She noticed a golden-haired pig being dragged by Os, and a plump, rotund rabbit waddling behind him.

It was as if she had witnessed something utterly unbelievable, her expression slowly turning to one of horror.

“My sincerest apologies, Lady Domu. I still need to take Big Brother Kase and Billy to lose weight. I’ll come and taste it later.” Os, carrying Kase by his side, walked past Domu.

Billy, meanwhile, hopped along on his short legs behind Os, seemingly eager to escape Domu’s vicinity as quickly as possible.

“So… Soronna, that creature in Os’s hands… could it be… could it be Kase?” Domu asked, incredulous, turning to the embarrassed Soronna beside her.

Though Os was carrying him, Domu’s keen eyes clearly discerned that it was not a Golden Uli at all. Instead, it was a person with golden hair, so utterly obese that their facial features were indistinct.

At first glance, the entire person resembled a golden-haired pig.

“Ha… haha… Yes, Domu. But I believe, with Os’s help, Kase should recover quickly… probably…” Soronna stammered, awkwardly twirling her ponytail with her fingers.

“I think… from today onwards, we should also exercise some restraint. I certainly don’t want to see you and Dove end up looking like Kase…” Thinking of Kase’s current state, Domu looked at Soronna before her and Dove in her arms, speaking with genuine fear.

“Mama… can’t we eat it today either…? But Dove really wants some…” Dove looked up at Domu with a wronged expression, her upper lip gently biting her lower lip as she spoke.

Soronna, too, bit her lip, glancing at the cheesecake, then anxiously at Domu.

“Alright… Dove, this is the last time for today, okay? Otherwise, you’ll turn into a little piglet too!” Domu extended a finger, gently poking Dove’s nose as she spoke earnestly.

“Hooray!” came the synchronized cheers. With joyful shouts, Soronna and Dove pounced upon the enormous cheese cheesecake.
