“Good morning, Sir Knight.”
I—the Blessed Girl—Aphrodite, had never looked forward to the arrival of the knights responsible for interrogating me so much.
I greeted the knight, but he ignored me. He was like a stone taken from a snow mountain, cold and hard, without a trace of empathy. He felt like a robot, asking the same repetitive questions every time as a matter of routine.
But this time, I was different.
“Your name?”
“Aphrodite.”
“Who are you?”
The conversation was getting to the point, and I raised my eyes, staring intently at the cold knight, my voice clear and my smile radiant like a flower.
“I come from another world, a more developed, more equal, and happier world. A world without demons, a world without exploitation. And I am a person from that world. A chosen one of God, one who has come to save you all.”
These deceptive words would have little effect on a cold knight. The expression on the knight’s face didn’t change at all; he was like a rigid machine, meticulously recording my testimony with his pen.
“A discrepancy from the previous testimony… Your purpose.”
“To liberate you. I am the chosen one of God, I am the Blessed Girl. I will help you drive away and purify the demons. I will help you eliminate the oppression from nobles and factory owners. I will ensure that every one of you can eat bread and butter. Everyone can eat eggs and drink milk.”
My grand discourse did not elicit any emotional fluctuation from the knight. He continued to record my testimony with his steel pen; he was like a ruthless Auto-Memory Doll.
Until he heard my next sentence.
“Go out and tell everyone: I can cure the blood disease.”
The pen, which had been steadily recording my testimony, suddenly stopped. The knight’s eyes scanned my body, and then the paused pen started moving again.
Based on this alone, I knew. The seed of hope had been sown, and time would make it sprout.
The knight left, and I returned to my bed, quietly waiting for the matter to ferment.
Two hours later.
Those heavy footsteps reached my ears again, but this time, the number of footsteps was significantly more than the last time. How many knights came to my cell? Three? Four, or more?
No matter how many of them came, it meant that these superstitious feudal humans had taken the bait.
I put down The Book of Primary Rites and hid the red-furred egg in a place where absolutely no one else would detect it—inside my A S S. Although it was uncomfortably tight, even a bit painful, if this bizarre thing were discovered by those knights, it would likely mean death.
Soon, four knights stood at the door of my cell, their faces icy. I wasn’t afraid of them. A gentle yet polite smile emerged on my face, and I opened my arms to these cold-faced knights, welcoming them with a proud yet courteous voice:
“Yes, you will thank yourselves for your actions. I am the Blessed Girl Aphrodite, and I will save countless human beings…”
However, before I could finish my sentence, reality delivered a harsh slap to my face.
Although the knights’ faces weren’t as cold as before, their expressions mostly showed impatience. They immediately punched me in the head, then handcuffed my hands behind my back.
“Enough nonsense! Come here!”
I was furious! Not just because of their roughness, but because they hit the very lump the Golden Apple had created!
Ouch! Ouch!
In my anger, I desperately wanted to transform into a gigantic Tentacle Monster, rip open these crude tin cans, and eat the meat inside. But in the end, I gave up.
Discipline gives me freedom. Time will allow me to acquire more food from these tin cans.
Never be penny-wise and pound-foolish.
I was escorted away from the dungeon.
After leaving the dungeon, I found myself in a training ground. This seemed to be the interior of a castle, but the environment was quite poor. The intense smell of horse manure and sweat made my head spin slightly. I saw a dozen soldiers undergoing training, which seemed to involve using longswords… and assault rifles.
Is… is there something wrong with that?
Before I could figure out the fighting power of this world, my hands were cuffed behind my back, and I was pushed deeper into the castle by the knights.
Passing through the dilapidated training ground and the decaying garden, I sensed that this place was not very prosperous—or perhaps its owner wasn’t very wealthy. I entered a manor.
To put it eloquently, the manor’s design was very classic, with a simple style, ancient, with many marks etched onto its body by time.
To put it bluntly, the manor was old and broken, the design was outdated, and there were even some cracks in the walls. Clearly, the owner of this place was not doing very well.
I continued to be escorted into the manor, and then I met the owner.
He was an elderly man. Although he was still spirited, his hair and beard were completely gray. He was wearing a slightly worn suit, as if adhering to some strict code. When he saw me, a flash of surprise crossed his eyes, but it quickly turned into a look of deep composure.
“You had better be able to treat my son’s illness. If you can cure him…”
I looked up at the old man. I didn’t let him finish his sentence, interrupting him directly with a look of righteousness and integrity.
“I need nothing. I have transcended the low-level interests of humanity. I am here to liberate humanity and save all sentient beings. Where is your son? Take me to him directly.”
This was true. I had indeed transcended the low-level interests of humanity, as my preferred food was fragrant children. As long as I gained human trust, truly controlled this city, and established my own faith, then all flesh and soul would be within easy reach…
Fragrant children, here I fcking come!
However, compared to my grand ambitions, the elderly man clearly didn’t hold much hope for me. He lowered his eyelids and slowly turned around. His aged body seemed heavy, like a wrinkled parchment filled with despair.
“Then come.”
He led me—accompanied by several knights, of course—into the manor’s basement. We slowly walked down the spiral staircase. Thanks to the bright halogen lamps, it wasn’t particularly dark.
But the further down we went, the darker and damper it became, and the stronger I could smell a foul odor of decay.
Finally, we arrived at a cell.
This old man was probably the former City Lord of this city named Herlas. The moment he saw his unrecognizable son in the room, tears streamed down his face.
“My son is in there. He was once a diligent City Lord. He was sympathetic to the people’s feelings, he fought bandits, he cared for the populace. But those despicable commoners repaid him with food contaminated by the plague… He—the City Lord loved by everyone in Herlas—has been reduced to this state…”
The other knights’ faces were also pale. They supported the old City Lord while slowly backing away. Clearly, they didn’t want to see what the formerly astute and capable City Lord had become.
But I wasn’t afraid. I always check the gore section when I open a pink manga app to see what wild things the users have come up with. Why would I be afraid of a human afflicted by the blood disease?
I decisively opened the cell door. Then, the cruel reality delivered a harsh slap to my face.
“Ugh! Ugh! Ugh! What kind of [Old Eight Happy Room] is this! Ugh!”
The person lying in the cell was completely disfigured. His body was highly inflated and rotten, but his arms and legs were unnaturally thin and long. The sharp claws extending from his fingernails were chilling. His entire body was a thin-skinned sack of a bloated gut, filled with various rotten matter, feces, and internal organs. The head of this disgusting torso was a grotesque large head with protruding sharp teeth, surrounded by the stench of rot and feces.
Undoubtedly, this was a subtype of the blood disease. This was also an incurable infection caused by direct or indirect contact with red mercury products or other contaminants. Type N Blood Disease, Third Stage—the final stage: Pestilence Demon Transformation.
He had become a source of plague contamination, yet this father was still unwilling to give up on his child. Even these guards were unwilling to abandon the life of the former City Lord…
However dazzling his past achievements were, they only highlighted the sorrow of his current plight.
Sensing the arrival of visitors, the former City Lord squeezed out a few words from his throat that sounded like bubbles, emanating a thick, fishy stench.
“Father… you’re here… come and feel the love of a merciful father. Only death is the key to salvation, and this is the end time.”
I am a Tentacle Monster, yes, but I also have empathy. I can feel the sadness and despair emanating from these people. The capriciousness of fate and the suffering of the plague have left them with immense pain, like a cracked earth that cannot be healed.
It is precisely because of this that my voice was so resolute.
“The Primary Gift embraces all believers. Regardless of old age, ugliness, goodness, or evil, It tolerates and embraces the world, just like a loving mother guiding her cherished child.”
The Slumber Egg requires prayer to take effect. I can’t pray, but I can babble nonsense.
I adopted a look of benevolence, opening my arms to the twisted, rotten giant monster, like the representative of a God who embraces everything in the world.
“O Slumber Egg granted by the Primary… please open your eye, disperse the ominous mist, and grant true slumber and tranquility to this poor soul… Praise the Primary, may there be no calamity in the world.”
But soon, my expression turned ugly, alternating between green and red, as if I had swallowed a fly.
This was not because my prayer failed. Quite the opposite: my prayer was effective!
The Slumber Egg is a very bizarre egg with red hair and an eye. Because I was afraid of the knights discovering it, I had hidden the Slumber Egg in my rectum.
And as the prayer proceeded, the Slumber Egg began to shake violently.
I thought this was my moment of glory, but unexpectedly, fate made a sudden “flipping of the table,” giving me a moment of utter shock and misery.
Suddenly, my butt trembled, and a burst of crimson mist shot out from between my thighs. That red mist quickly dispersed the stinking odor of decay in the basement, and it enveloped the mutated City Lord.
His highly rotten and bloated body slowly shrank, and even his pus-green skin gradually returned to a human complexion. Wherever the red mist touched, all the feces, abscesses, and decaying matter instantly evaporated. The sharp claws dissolved in the darkness, and the deformed head slowly shrunk.
Soon, the rotten monster turned into a young man. Except for a slight lack of color on his face, his posture was no different from an ordinary human.
Undoubtedly, this miracle completely redefined the understanding of all the humans present. Everyone stared in shock at the restored City Lord. The intense emotional impact instantly made everyone forget to think, even to breathe.
In this dim basement, there was absolute silence. Quiet enough to hear people’s heartbeats.
Until the old City Lord’s eyes welled up with tears, streaming down his face like a fountain.
“Heavens! Kathis above… Someone, someone can actually cure the blood disease…”
“It worked… It’s truly…”
The mysterious Blessed Girl, seeing that everything was well, slowly turned around. Her voice was no longer as arrogant as before; instead, it sounded somewhat weak.
In the eyes of the crowd, her body swayed, and blood began to flow uncontrollably from her ears, mouth, nostrils, and eyes. However, the only thing that hadn’t changed was the unflinching smile on her lips.
“That’s great…”
The Blessed Girl collapsed into the dim basement.
