Suddenly, the venue began to buzz with excitement. The officials equipped with virtual glasses all started to pay
attention to Lee Hyun-seung’s performance in unison.
In fact, at the beginning, Lee Hyun-seung was not someone noteworthy to the guild officials or those present. This
was because he was a gunman and, more importantly, a member of F-class.
The only thing that might catch someone’s attention was that Jung Eun-seo, the daughter of the Théor Guild Master,
was acting alongside him, so expectations for Lee Hyun-seung were almost zero.
But that had changed now.
A man in his 40s or 50s, wearing shabby, dirty clothes, was unable to contain his admiration as he observed Lee
Hyun-seung through his virtual glasses. This was Tak Woo-hyun, the blacksmith.
“Unbelievable crafting speed.”
He watched as Lee Hyun-seung created multiple magazines and items, and he began to take notice of him. While
ordinary people might not grasp just how quickly Lee Hyun-seung was crafting, Tak Woo-hyun, who had been a
blacksmith for a long time, could see it.
‘Could he be a unique grade? No, perhaps a legend?’
He thought to himself but quickly shook his head.
‘There can’t be a legendary blacksmith in this country.’
Legendary blacksmiths are nearly unheard of internationally. Rumors suggest that there are 2 to 3 such individuals,
but since no one has seen them, they are like mythical creatures that don’t truly exist. Yet, here was someone in this
country, in fact, a member of F-class at Broad Academy, possessing such an unbelievable grade. It was hard to
believe.
‘But… the crafting speed is too fast. No, that’s not all; he has two slots.’
Tak Woo-hyun was a unique-grade blacksmith. Among the ranks of common, rare, epic, unique, legendary, and
mythical, unique ranks quite high—indeed, it’s among the best. However, even he did not possess two crafting slots.
Thus, Tak Woo-hyun began to wonder: Could it be that Lee Hyun-seung was a legendary blacksmith?
If not, then he must have used some trick to increase his crafting slots to two, but he couldn’t think of how that
would be possible.
‘Whether he’s truly a legendary blacksmith or using some method, this guy is a gem. I absolutely must recruit him.’
Tak Woo-hyun, the president of the Blacksmiths’ Association, had discovered a talent he had never noticed before in his life.
Inside the virtual stage.
Kim Yu-ri couldn’t hide her shock as she looked at the man lying on the ground.
“Wow… guns are surprisingly powerful weapons.”
It was the first time she had seen a common firearm penetrate a mana shield.
On the other hand, Jung Eun-seo nodded as if she had expected this and spoke.
“Of course, it should be at least this much for me to feel like my investment is worthwhile.”
Jung Eun-seo was currently taking a very humble approach towards Lee Hyun-seung. She was ready to comply with
any request he had and fulfill his wishes. The reason for this was that she understood his potential better than
anyone else. The girl thought,
‘The display he showed in the labyrinth was impressive, but seeing him now, he’s even more of a monster.’
Jung Eun-seo felt that even just the fact that Lee Hyun-seung was a legendary gunman made him a valuable ally.
This was not only because of the tremendous power of the firearms he wielded but also due to his ability to navigate
a labyrinth where one needed a compass to find their way, seemingly wandering around without a care. This
capability was something that many would covet.
However, now his value had increased even further because she had learned that he also possessed the job of a
legendary blacksmith.
‘Even if we searched the entire Théor Guild, we wouldn’t find someone like him… No, even if we searched through
the entire Artemis Guild, there surely wouldn’t be a legendary simultaneous awakener.’
Jung Eun-seo looked at Lee Hyun-seung.
As he rummaged through the ground where the enemy had vanished, searching for usable loot, there seemed to be
no emotion in his eyes. His expression was as if he was doing something entirely normal.
‘He has no fear in harming or injuring someone. And he is confident in his abilities.’
Looking at Lee Hyun-seung’s demeanor, he showed no hesitation when it came to harming others. No matter how
virtual the stage was, people typically have fear or hesitation about injuring someone else. However, it appeared that
Lee Hyun-seung did not possess such emotions at all. He even seemed like someone who harbored no fear of failing.
Whether it was when he killed people in the labyrinth or when he pierced through the mana shield right before her
eyes, Lee Hyun-seung’s expression suggested that he thought this was the bare minimum he should do. It was hard
to even guess how far his true abilities extended.
‘If more time passes…’
Even now, despite having recently awakened, he possessed immense power, action, and confidence. If Lee Hyun-
seung continued to grow steadily, he would become an even more powerful monster.
‘I need to make sure he doesn’t stray off course.’
If someone with this level of power were to join a group like Hilleon or a terrorist organization, it would not just be a
national disaster but a global one. Conversely, if he were to become an ally, it would be like gaining an army of
celestial beings. Jung Eun-seo raised her assessment of Lee Hyun-seung’s value even higher.
After gathering all of the belongings that had remained after Heo Cheol-hoon had vanished, Lee Hyun-seung looked
at Jung Eun-seo and Kim Yu-ri and said,
“Let’s move. I’ve picked up all the items he dropped.”
Jung Eun-seo asked,
“Were there any usable weapons or items?”
“No, there weren’t. Even the artifacts disappeared after use. I don’t know what kind of device she had set up, but it
must have been her doing.”
The “she” that Lee Hyun-seung referred to was undoubtedly Yoo Hee-yeon. Jung Eun-seo had already suspected this
to some extent, so she didn’t bother asking again.
Lee Hyun-seung, seeming annoyed, brushed off the dirt on his hands and said,
“To think that in a mere F-class representative selection, such filthy tricks would be employed.”
He thought to himself,
‘In the end, it won’t mean anything. After all, the more you do this, the higher people’s evaluations of me will rise.’
Lee Hyun-seung was aware that the officials were watching the virtual stage. He was intentionally showcasing as
much of his ability as possible. Since this was a legitimate representative selection, he thought that demonstrating
his skills would be advantageous for later recruiting capable individuals or bringing them to his side.
Just as he was thinking this, Jung Eun-seo spoke.
“Wait a moment, I sense life signs nearby.”
Jung Eun-seo had been using detection magic for a while to sense living beings around them. She had been more
cautious since Heo Cheol-hoon had suddenly appeared.
Lee Hyun-seung quickly assessed the situation.
“How many people are there?”
“There are five of them. It seems they’re a party, judging by how close they are.”
“Aren’t there any others?”
“No, that’s it. I don’t sense any other life forms within my range.”
‘Did they come because they heard the gunfire?’
Lee Hyun-seung began to make quick judgments while contemplating.
Looking around, he noticed that the area was filled with dense foliage. There were tall trees, large rocks, and even
vague marshy areas.
‘I can use this to my advantage.’
He didn’t know if the approaching group would be friendly or hostile. However, since this was a class representative
selection, it was natural that they would fight if they encountered each other. So, considering the worst-case
scenario, he moved.
“Jung Eun-seo, you stay here quietly. When they arrive, try talking to them to see if we can befriend them or if it’s difficult to make them allies.”
It would be good to increase the number of allies, even if it was just one. There were still dozens of competitors in the
area, most of whom hadn’t been eliminated yet. If they matched opinions well enough, there was a high possibility
they could form an alliance.
‘Well, if they’re the bastards that Yoo Hee-yeon planted, that won’t work.’
Looking at Heo Cheol-hoon, Lee Hyun-seung thought that Yoo Hee-yeon must have bribed someone for this class
annihilation. It certainly wouldn’t just be Heo Cheol-hoon alone.
“Got it. I can adapt to any unexpected situations anyway.”
At Jung Eun-seo’s response, Kim Yu-ri looked at Lee Hyun-seung and asked,
“What should I do?”
Lee Hyun-seung wrapped his arm around Kim Yu-ri’s waist and said,
“You follow me.”
“W-What are you doing…?”
Then, Lee Hyun-seung pulled out a small device resembling a pistol from his waist.
Paaang-!
As he pulled the trigger, a long wire with a metal spearhead shot out from the weapon, resembling a gun, spinning like a spider’s web.
-Peek!
The spearhead hit a tree, and when Lee Hyun-seung pulled the trigger again, he and Kim Yu-ri were instantly pulled
towards it as if being sucked in.
Before long, they had reached the top of the tree.
“C-Can you please inform me before acting? You scared me!”
“Shh.”
As Lee Hyun-seung placed a finger over his lips, a moment later, five people were trudging over from the opposite side.
Trudge
-Trudge
Soon, the five-member party arrived in front of Jung Eun-seo.
Lee Hyun-seung took a short breath and aimed his weapon at them.
Eventually, a woman who appeared to be their leader spoke to Jung Eun-seo.
“What’s going on? Are you alone? Where’s the boy who was with you?”
-Swish
The muzzle of Lee Hyun-seung’s weapon was aimed directly at the woman’s head.
