Lin’an City had long since turned into ruins, debris scattered everywhere.
On the surface, there was no sign of any living creature, silence pervading like a dead city.
Underground, however, it was bustling with activity.
Countless crawlers swarmed through the tunnels, transporting various materials, including but not limited to water, flesh, and monster corpses.
Such a dense scene would make anyone with claustrophobia panic, perhaps even suffer a heart attack.
Soon, the crawlers neatly arranged the materials in a designated spot and quickly departed.
Once the materials were stacked, a few threads appeared from the depths, wrapping everything into a tight cocoon.
Then, pulling it upward along the threads, the cocoon disappeared into deeper darkness without a single sound of dragging.
At the end of the tunnel hung a massive spider web, at the center of which was a half-human, half-spider silhouette.
“Interesting, the Shinba-level power was solved so quickly?”
The Web-Weaving Witch sensed a soul thread had broken and realized the mantis monster she had stationed in Qingteng City had died.
“Seems the speed of Magical Girl Silver Moon’s power increase is faster than the master expected, likely related to the person aiding her.”
Fortunately, she had left a few contingencies.
The soul thread hidden in Kishiro’s hair was one of them.
But if the soul thread wanted to gradually control Kishiro, it first needed to shake her consciousness with malice.
Yet the mantis monster had allowed Kishiro an effortless victory, leaving no opportunity for malice to grow.
The Web-Weaving Witch planned to send more monsters to force Kishiro into a hard-fought battle to generate malice.
Unexpectedly, Kishiro herself generated malice first.
Although minimal, enough of the thread merged to allow the Web-Weaving Witch to synchronize with Kishiro’s senses.
Her master wanted chaos merely to probe the mysterious person assisting Kishiro.
Now, by observing through the thread, she could gather information on that person.
“Chaos still needs to be created. Lin’an City is too small a territory to let more children survive.”
The Web-Weaving Witch licked her lips with her long tongue, her mind calculating with a metallic click.
“If I kill that mysterious person, and conveniently eliminate the magical girl of Qingteng City, my master will surely reward me with Qingteng City.”
Then, she would be the Monster King ruling two cities.
Speaking of it, who came up with that ugly title, Monster King?
Witch sounded better.
Since nothing urgent was happening, she decided to observe what Magical Girl Silver Moon was doing.
Just as she took Kishiro’s perspective, she saw her pinned on the sofa by a blonde girl, her top lifted.
What was going on?
Question marks appeared above the Web-Weaving Witch’s head.
“Florina, I was wrong.” Kishiro repeatedly begged.
Florina wouldn’t let Kishiro off, “I’m angry you wrongly blamed me, so…”
“So?”
“So I’ll help heal your wound.”
Soft light condensed at her fingertips, covering the wound at Kishiro’s waist.
The light seeped gently into her flesh, washing away the remaining poison and relaxing the tense muscles.
“Ugh!” The comfort nearly made Kishiro cry out.
“Healed. Is this Florina’s special ability?”
Hearing this, Sakio, hiding at a distance, whispered to the doll and the others.
“Kishiro didn’t think otherwise. Clearly, Florina’s ability seems beyond the range of special powers.”
“Your special ability is so metaphysical, you probably have no reason to say that.”
The eyeball remembered it got into this mess because it provoked Sakio.
The doll agreed, “Exactly.”
Being ambushed in an alley, they still had the protection of a heavenly thunderbolt.
On survival, she believed Hoshino Sakio could go head-to-head with that brave one.
No wonder she was her subordinate!
“But my ability is uncontrollable.” Sakio sighed sadly.
“Controllable? That would be terrible!” The eyeball shivered; even the book pages trembled.
“True, I’m just too greedy.”
Sakio’s gaze shifted to Florina, channeling holy light into Kishiro.
She had encountered Florina; what more could she want?
“Subordinate, crouch a bit.” The doll bounced, drawing Sakio’s attention.
Curious, Sakio squatted, and the doll leapt into her palm, tilting her little body upward to meet her gaze.
Sakio couldn’t help but bend her eyes slightly.
“What’s going on?”
“That… I’m sorry.” The doll covered her face, embarrassed.
Because of her lies, Sakio suffered pain needlessly.
Sakio lightly tapped the doll’s head.
“No need to apologize. Without you, I couldn’t have even run in the first place.”
“Subordinate!” The doll happily hugged Sakio’s finger.
“Healing is done.”
Florina was about to withdraw, but Kishiro grabbed her hand.
“?” Florina was a bit puzzled.
The warm healing energy continued spreading, softening the previously stiff injured area.
Kishiro blushed, trembling as she whispered three words, “Don’t stop.”
Florina raised an eyebrow.
Addicted to milk already?
As the saying goes, some rejoice while others sorrow.
The holy light soothed Kishiro, but the Web-Weaving Witch truly suffered.
“Ahhh! It hurts to death!”
The Web-Weaving Witch screamed in agony, a hole scorched into her waist by the holy light, black smoke curling from it.
Discovered?
She had to sever the connection immediately.
Acting decisively, she abandoned control over the soul thread in Kishiro’s hair.
The thread fell from Kishiro’s hair, quietly caught by Florina.
Someone was using Kishiro to spy on her.
Florina smiled, having anticipated this, or she wouldn’t have bothered coming to treat Kishiro.
Witches’ self-healing abilities were strong; magical girls likely weren’t far behind, no need to worry.
She hadn’t expected the opponent to sever the thread so decisively.
Otherwise, she could have infused more holy light, perhaps eliminating them in one blow.
“Could it be someone from Uru?” Florina speculated.
Meanwhile, the Web-Weaving Witch’s face darkened.
She had struggled to suppress malice emerging from her wound, yet it took forever to heal.
The witch’s proud self-healing was being restrained.
Who was this Florina!
The one helping Kishiro?
Even synchronizing senses through a soul thread shouldn’t transmit damage to the host, yet Florina had done something.
To harm her body through the thread, this power was stronger than she imagined.
The Web-Weaving Witch pondered: now that she knew of Florina, should she report to her master?
She immediately dismissed the idea.
If reported, her master might think chaos unnecessary and revoke her arrangement in Qingteng City.
Then her plan to claim both territories would fail.
Moreover, if that person dared injure her, she’d have to pay the price!
Florina, huh, just wait!
A trace of cruelty flashed in the Web-Weaving Witch’s eyes.
