The morning arrived.
I slung my schoolbag over my shoulder, walked to the entrance, opened the main door, and turned to wave at Li Qingcheng, who was leaning against the wall behind me in only a thin nightgown.
“Well, I’m off,” I said.
“Stare~~~”
Instead of bidding me farewell, Li Qingcheng simply fixed her gaze on me, continuously making that sound.
I wanted to tell her, ‘I know you’re staring at me! Could you please stop making that “staring” sound? You’ve been doing this all morning; aren’t you tired?’
“Hey, what is it?”
I rolled my eyes at Li Qingcheng. “I already told you that thing from last night wasn’t mine! I was just holding onto it for someone else!”
Li Qingcheng slowly shook her head.
“I wasn’t surprised by that kind of thing at all.”
‘Wait, so in my sister’s eyes, I’m already the kind of brother who wouldn’t bat an eye even if I brought an adult toy home?!’
“Then what else is it?”
I asked, puzzled.
The girl stared intently at me for a long moment before finally speaking. “Big brother, who was that woman yesterday?”
“Eh? Uh……”
For some reason, I hesitated for a moment before replying, “Oh, that’s just our Class Monitor.”
“Is that so?”
The girl, however, furrowed her brow and pressed on, “Then why did she come to our house yesterday?”
I looked at Li Qingcheng’s face and a faint smile touched my lips.
“It’s all because someone didn’t even realize they got their period yesterday and thought they were dying, so she rushed over to help.”
A rare blush crept onto the girl’s face.
She flusteredly took half a step back, then quickly turned her head away.
“Th-that kind of thing doesn’t need to be mentioned! I was asking why you, big brother, were still with her so late!”
“It was nothing much. You don’t need to know.”
I had actually followed the Class Monitor yesterday, so of course, I couldn’t tell Li Qingcheng that.
“In any case, make sure to thank the Class Monitor properly when you see her next. Without her, your big brother here wouldn’t have known what to do yesterday.”
The girl tilted her head. “Hmph, I’ll ‘thank’ her properly.”
I didn’t catch the double meaning in Li Qingcheng’s words, simply assuming the girl was genuinely being obedient this time.
I smiled and nodded.
“Mm, good. You should rest at home today; I’ve already requested leave for you from school. I’ll be going now.”
With that, I stepped out of the house, casting a final glance at Li Qingcheng.
Li Qingcheng remained standing emotionlessly in the entryway, watching me, without any intention of bidding me farewell.
I let out a wry chuckle and slowly closed the door.
‘Am I, perhaps, a failed older brother?’ I mused.
Stepping outside, I muttered to myself as I headed toward the school.
I should be able to see Ji Qianluo today.
I absolutely needed to find time to meet her and get a clear explanation for everything. Not just the previous issues, but also the incident I encountered just yesterday needed clarification.
Although I hadn’t gotten a clear look at the time, I was certain the woman who bumped into me yesterday truly looked identical to Airi.
This, of course, made no sense. After all, Airi was from another world; her appearance here couldn’t possibly be explained by a simple coincidence.
Because of the Class Monitor yesterday, I hadn’t been able to catch up to that girl.
Therefore, I was determined to seek out Ji Qianluo today and get to the bottom of it.
The walk from my house to school was neither particularly close nor far. It took about fifteen minutes on foot, yet only two or three minutes by taxi.
It was, without a doubt, an infuriating distance.
Walking for fifteen minutes felt too far and tiring, but a taxi for just two or three minutes seemed like an utter waste of money.
I had agonized over the choice between walking and taking a taxi for a long time.
In the end, to save the meager allowance my parents sent each month and buy more food for my sister, I resolutely chose to walk.
I probably sound like a good brother, right?
Yet, my sister’s attitude towards me was simply outrageous!
Alright, no more dwelling on my sister’s issues.
In any case, as usual, I walked for fifteen minutes before reaching school.
I followed the familiar path toward my classroom.
By this time, quite a few students had already arrived at school. Most of them wore smiles, heading to their classrooms in groups.
I prayed in my heart that Ji Qianluo would definitely be here today, as I made my way to the floor where my class was located.
I wondered if my prayer had truly been answered.
Just as I reached the upper floor, I saw Ji Qianluo, carrying her small shoulder bag and beaming, walk into Class 5 of the second year.
My lips curved upwards as I silently exclaimed, ‘Lucky!’ I quickly hastened my steps, hoping to catch up to Ji Qianluo.
However, just as I stepped into the classroom, the unexpected occurred.
A human-shaped wall of flesh instantly blocked my path, glaring fiercely at me.
I instinctively narrowed my eyes and took a step back.
Then, the human-shaped wall spoke.
“Li Qingchen! What exactly happened between you and the Class Monitor yesterday?!”
