Xiang Qing’s cheeks immediately flushed crimson. Biting down on her molars, she screamed inwardly, ‘What do you mean ‘like a human being’?! You’re the dog! Your entire family are dogs!’ Yet, on her lips, she could only manage to force out a professional, insincere smile.
“Thank you for the compliment, CEO Gu.”
“Let’s go.”
Gu Wei’s smile deepened with satisfaction, her hand reaching out to grasp Xiang Qing’s.
Xiang Qing’s survival instincts flared, prompting her to swiftly tuck her hands behind her back. With a nimble maneuver, she deftly sidestepped Gu Wei, darting towards the door herself.
“CEO Gu, let’s depart promptly! The amusement park will be swarming with people if we’re late!”
As she watched Xiang Qing bolt out like a startled rabbit, the smile on Gu Wei’s face intensified.
‘How amusing.’
‘Truly, utterly amusing.’
‘The more this little kitten struggles, the more I long to capture her in my palm and thoroughly knead her.’
“Xiao Qing!”
From behind, Shen Lanzhi’s voice carried a final, worried cry.
Standing in the entryway, Xiang Qing glanced back, offering a reassuring smile before swiftly opening the door and fleeing the chaotic scene.
She felt less like she was heading to an amusement park and more like she was being led to an execution ground.
The black Maserati glided smoothly along the highway, yet the atmosphere within its luxurious interior was anything but calm.
Xiang Qing sat rigidly in the passenger seat, feeling as though she were perched on a bed of nails.
The beige pleated skirt she wore was truly far too short!
The slightest movement caused the hem to ride up uncontrollably, revealing her long legs encased in white ankle socks.
Consequently, she could only keep her legs stiffly pressed together, her hands clinging desperately to the skirt’s edge, wishing she could somehow adhere the fabric to her thighs with superglue.
‘The taste of the wealthy is truly beyond words!’
Gu Wei, at the wheel, appeared perfectly at ease.
She gripped the steering wheel with one hand, her other arm draped casually over the window, her profile rendered impossibly perfect by the sunlight.
“Aren’t your legs getting cramped, always curled up like that?” Gu Wei’s voice suddenly cut through the silence, laced with a hint of lazy amusement.
Xiang Qing’s heart gave a sudden lurch.
“It’s fine, not uncomfortable,” she replied succinctly.
“Is that so?” Gu Wei chuckled softly. “I’m getting tired just watching you. Why not lift them, stretch them straight out, and rest them on the passenger dashboard? Relax a little.”
‘What utterly brazen words!’
‘Isn’t this just Sima Zhao’s ambition, plain for all to see?!’
‘What do you mean ‘relax a little’?’
‘Isn’t it just an excuse to openly stare at my thighs?’
‘And to come up with such a ‘fresh and refined’ excuse!’
‘I don’t believe a word of it!’
Xiang Qing’s mind was a battlefield of internal conflict.
‘If I give in, I’ll feel utterly cheap, like an eager delivery meal served right to her doorstep.’
‘But if I don’t, I risk displeasing this benefactor and cutting off my source of income.’
‘No, I can’t give in so easily!’
‘I, Xiang Qing, also have my professional integrity!’
‘I need to play a little push and pull game, don’t I?’
‘Only appropriate refusal can maximize my value!’
With this thought in mind, Xiang Qing subtly shifted her weight, tugged her skirt further down, and then forced a polite smile.
“No need, CEO Gu, I’m perfectly fine like this. Thank you for your concern.”
“Heh.” Gu Wei let out a soft chuckle, her voice brimming with an amusement that seemed to see right through Xiang Qing. “Alright, as you wish.”
Despite Gu Wei’s words, Xiang Qing sensed that her gaze was now darting towards her with even greater frequency.
‘It’s working! This is called ‘to catch by letting go’!’
Xiang Qing silently gave herself a mental thumbs-up.
Before long, they arrived at the amusement park.
The colossal Ferris wheel, the roller coasters hurtling skyward, and the deafening cacophony of screams and laughter converged into a palpable wave of excitement that washed over them.
Gazing at the sea of people before her, Xiang Qing’s scalp began to tingle.
‘Oh my goodness, so many people!’
Having detested human interaction since childhood, this sort of place felt nothing short of hellish to her.
All she wanted now was to turn around, go home, and fall into a deep sleep, clutching her newfound wealth.
“What do you want to ride?” Gu Wei asked, after parking the car and walking to Xiang Qing’s side, her face alight with eager anticipation. “Today, this CEO is paying, so you can play whatever your heart desires!”
Xiang Qing stared at the gaudy amusement rides, her expression utterly bewildered.
“I… I’ve never been to one of these before.”
This statement was the unvarnished truth.
Gu Wei paused, momentarily stunned, before an even more fervent gleam ignited in her beautiful eyes.
The sensation was akin to Christopher Columbus discovering a new continent.
‘A blank canvas!’
‘Didn’t this simply mean she could freely paint it with colors uniquely her own—Gu Wei’s colors?’
“It’s alright!” Gu Wei exclaimed, her lips curving into a wide, enthusiastic grin as she seized Xiang Qing’s wrist. “Today, I’ll take you to experience every single ride here!”
The touch on her wrist was both warm and delicate, and Xiang Qing instinctively tried to pull away, only for Gu Wei to tighten her grip.
“Come on! We’ll start with the gentlest rides first!”
Without further ado, Gu Wei practically dragged Xiang Qing towards the carousel.
Numerous couples and children were already seated on the vibrantly colored wooden horses.
“We’ll start with this one, just to help you ease into it,” Gu Wei said, raising an eyebrow as she gracefully mounted a white horse.
She then patted the ornately decorated horse beside her. “Come on up.”
What choice did Xiang Qing have but to reluctantly clamber onto it?
As the music began, the carousel horses started their slow, rhythmic rotation.
Xiang Qing watched the brightly smiling faces around her with an impassive expression, feeling utterly out of place.
Just then, a hand suddenly encircled her waist.
“Hold on tight, don’t fall off,” Gu Wei’s voice murmured from beside her.
Xiang Qing’s body instantly stiffened.
‘Hold on tight, my foot! This thing moves slower than the old folks’ amusement rides in the park! Where exactly am I going to fall?’
‘You just want to grope me! Such a blatant pervert!’
Xiang Qing attempted to twist her body free, but Gu Wei’s arm remained unyielding, like an iron clamp.
Having finally endured until the carousel ground to a halt, Xiang Qing believed she was liberated.
Instead, Gu Wei immediately tugged her towards the haunted house.
“Don’t most girls enjoy these?” Gu Wei said, winking at her. “You get to experience a racing heartbeat.”
Xiang Qing let out a dry, sarcastic chuckle.
‘My heart is already racing, but it’s from being scared by you, you hooligan!’
Inside the haunted house, it was pitch black, with eerie sound effects and “ghosts” periodically jumping out—a combination certainly capable of startling many.
Yet, Xiang Qing remained utterly unfazed.
She even had the presence of mind to mentally calculate how much a ghost actor in this place might earn in a day.
Suddenly, a disheveled female ghost abruptly lunged out from around a corner.
Before Xiang Qing could even applaud the actor’s dedication, Gu Wei, standing beside her, let out a piercing shriek and practically launched herself into Xiang Qing’s arms.
“So scary! Xiao Qing, protect me!” Gu Wei cried, her head buried in the crook of Xiang Qing’s neck, her voice trembling.
‘Sister, you’re faking it far too obviously!’
‘What’s written across your face isn’t ‘fear’; it’s ‘mission accomplished’ in bold letters!’
‘With acting like that, you’d be universally mocked in the entertainment industry!’
While mentally ranting, Xiang Qing impassively tried to push away the fragrant, soft ‘accessory’ clinging to her.
“CEO Gu, it’s fake. It’s all just make-believe.”
“I know it’s fake, but I’m still scared,” Gu Wei whined, clinging to her and refusing to get up.
Next came the roller coaster, the giant pendulum ride, the drop tower…
Under the pretense of wanting to experience thrilling rides, Gu Wei made sure to try every single attraction that allowed for intimate contact.
At every peak and every heart-stopping moment, she found the perfect excuse to lay her hands all over Xiang Qing.
Xiang Qing’s initial stiff resistance slowly gave way to a weary numbness.
She felt as though her waist and thighs were on the verge of developing calluses from this hooligan’s incessant touching.
As the two of them waited in line for the bumper cars, an oblivious young man approached them.
He appeared to be in his early twenties, clad in trendy streetwear, his hair dyed a multitude of colors, and an air of self-importance plastered across his face.
Completely disregarding Gu Wei standing beside her, he flashed what he presumed was a charming smile at Xiang Qing.
“Hey beautiful, are you here alone? Your outfit is so innocent. Want to be friends? Add me on WeChat?”
Xiang Qing froze, momentarily stunned.
‘Is this… is he trying to pick me up?’
