Chapter 31 Part 2: I Have To Go Out

I decided to go out, but I couldn’t go out right now.

The outside is a dangerous and scary place.

I sat back down on my chair and watched Shine and Amy.

Neither of them seemed particularly interested in the video I had seen.

I let out a small sigh and started thinking.

Neither of them wanted me to go out.

So how should I persuade them?

“Shine~”

I decided to attack Shine.

I spun around in my chair and called out to Shine, who was watching TV.

She responded to my voice and turned her head.

Shine’s face was revealed through the silver threads that were scattering.

“By any chance… what do you think about going outside?”

I told her to speak quietly, but Amy, who was sitting right next to Shine, seemed to have heard my voice.

Her gaze turned to me.

“Jeff. It’s a dangerous place outside.”

Shine said as if trying to persuade me.

I flinched and nodded.

She was right, but I couldn’t help wanting to go out.

I really wanted to see the movie.

“It’s not safe yet.”

Amy continued.

I lowered my head and asked back.

“Not yet…?”

“Yeah, there are still bad people looking for Shine and Jeff.”

“So if the bad people disappear, can I go outside?”

When I asked with hope, Amy nodded.

My eyes sparkled.

It was not that there was no way to go outside.

But I couldn’t help but get tired quickly.

Who knew when the bad people would disappear and wait for them to do so?

The theater release date was two days from now.

“Um… Can’t I sneak out and come back…?”

Shine answered my voice.

“Jeff.”

She rubbed her eyes and approached me.

I buried myself in my chair, covered my ears, and spun the chair around.

I didn’t want to hear her nagging.

“Okay. I won’t go out.”

Her eyes swiveled around, and Shine’s figure grew closer and closer.

When I added urgently, she stopped with a small smile.

“Yeah. It’s dangerous outside.”

I nodded to her words.

That’s right.

The outside was a very, very dangerous place.

There were scary dogs and thugs hiding in the streets, waiting for their chance.

I felt regretful and fiddled with my mouse.

The mouse cursor kept playing and pausing the video.

It was regretful.

I wanted to see it.

I didn’t want to give up.

The danger Shine spoke of made me imagine situations that could definitely be a direct danger to me.

It was something I had experienced in the past.

But now that I think about it, if I had my current abilities, it would all be something I could solve on my own.

I thought.

Shine seemed to be underestimating me too much.

I spun the chair around again.

It was more fun than I thought.

Both of them thought I had given up on going outside, but I didn’t give up.

After turning off the computer, I walked toward the shelf where Amy’s favorite coffee was.

However, because I was short, I couldn’t reach it myself.

I lifted my toes and stretched out my hand, but it was out of reach.

I looked around.

I found a chair near where Shine and Amy were sitting.

I swallowed dryly and began to sneak around.

Since both of them were fixated on the television screen, now was my chance.

I grabbed the leg of the soft chair and carefully began to pull the chair.

Swish-swish-The noise coming from the floor and the chair legs was too loud.

The weight of the chair was heavier than I thought.

I dragged the chair hard and walked toward the shelf.

I pushed the chair close to the shelf and stood on the chair with my feet.

My gaze suddenly rose.

This is the world that adults see.

I smiled triumphantly and reached out toward the shelf.

I lifted my leg again, my fingertips shaking faintly, almost touching.

My outstretched fingers touched the coffee mix.

I grabbed the coffee mix that had touched my hand with a rustling noise.

“Got it!”

“What?”

I stumbled, startled by the sudden voice.

My gaze tilted, the coffee mixes soaring high into the sky.

In my gaze rising toward the sky, I saw Amy’s face among the coffee mixes scattering in all directions.

She reached out to me with a startled face.

My body fell onto Amy’s arm with a thud.

Thud-thud- the coffee mix that fell to the floor made a loud noise.

“Ah…”

I turned my head away to avoid Amy’s gaze.

“Did you want coffee?”

“Ugh… yes.”

“But Jeff, coffee isn’t very good for you guys.”

Amy added as she carefully lowered me to the floor.

“If you drink it now, you won’t be able to sleep.”

That was the effect of coffee I was aiming for.

I fall asleep too quickly.

Even if I napped, the problem was that I fell asleep quickly the moment Amy changed into pajamas and put me on the bed.

I hadn’t given up on going out yet.

In order to carry out the plan, I had to move at dawn, when everyone was asleep.

In order to carry out that plan, I needed coffee.

“Can’t I have just one cup?”

“No.”

Amy answered my question firmly and started picking up the coffee scattered on the floor.

I watched her and pushed a coffee mix to the corner.

The coffee mix caught on the tip of my toe disappeared into a square that Amy couldn’t see.

“Hehe…. Hehe….”

I smiled triumphantly as I watched Amy’s back as she was organizing the coffee.

I quickly covered my mouth at the laughter that was leaking out.

I covered my mouth with both hands and watched Amy’s expression.

Fortunately, she didn’t seem to notice what I did.

“Jeff, what are you doing?”

The difficulty came again.

I slowly turned my head, feeling the cold sweat running down my back.

Shine’s eyes, which should have been looking at the television, were on me.

“Did you see…?”

“What…?”

“That I did.”

“You laughed strangely?”

I let out a sigh of relief.

Shine didn’t seem to see me hiding the coffee.

By the way, you laughed strangely.

“Did you really laugh strangely…?”

Shine seemed to be lost in thought for a moment at my question, then slowly answered.

“Yeah.”

I touched the corners of my mouth and made a sad face.

Was my laugh that strange?

“Aren’t you hungry?”

While I was touching the corners of my mouth and thinking about my laugh, Amy, who had finished organizing the coffee, asked.

In one hand, she held a mug with steam rising from it.

The familiar scent of coffee wafting through the air made her mouth water.

Amy, who noticed my gaze, smiled playfully and said, “I’ll buy you coffee milk later.”

She was full of complaints, but she nodded anyway.

The coffee milk was delicious.

“I’m hungry.”

Amy checked the time at Shine’s answer.

She made an ambiguous expression.

It was a little early for dinner.

It was clear that the restaurant wasn’t open yet.

“Shall we have pizza for dinner tonight?”

I nodded at Amy’s suggestion.

My hair swayed as I swished my head up and down.

“Yes!!”

I touched my cheek, imagining the taste of delicious pizza.

My mouth was already watering.

I swallowed the drool that had gathered in my mouth and waited for dinner time.

“Wait a minute.”

Amy took out her cell phone and started tapping the screen.

After a short while, she left the room.

Only Shine and I were left.

I began to happily wait, filled with anticipation of being able to eat pizza.

I sat on the chair and swung my legs back and forth.

“Jeff.”

“Yeah.”

“Do you like pizza that much?”

“Yeah, it’s delicious.”

“Is everything delicious good?”

“Yeah.”

Shine began to seriously contemplate something at my answer.

“Jeff likes too many things.”

“Is that weird?”

“No, I was thinking about what would be good for Jeff’s present.”

“My present?”

“Yeah, I was choosing what to give him for his next birthday.”

I kept my mouth shut at Shine’s answer.

Next birthday…?

It was so far away, but I had never thought about receiving a birthday present from Shine.

It had only been a few days since I had received my first birthday present.

“There’s still a lot of time left.”

“Yeah.”

“So you can think about it slowly.”

Shine nodded at my words.

I watched her expression and added quietly.

“Me too…. I’ll prepare a present too.”

As if she had been waiting for those words, Shine smiled brightly and hugged me.

It wasn’t that I didn’t like the gentle touch.

It was just a little burdensome.

“Jeff.”

“Do you want to go out?”

A small voice came to my ear.

I shook my head urgently.

“No! No! I’m absolutely not going out.”

I trembled with anxiety, wondering if Shine had caught on to my plan.

“Yeah, that’s good.”

Fortunately, she didn’t seem to notice my plan.

I couldn’t push away Shine’s soft cheek, and I held her in my arms for a long time.

Shine left after Amy came back.

She brought five large pizzas.

“Isn’t that enough?”

I looked up at the pizzas with sparkling eyes.

The pizzas Amy was holding in both hands were placed on the table we were sitting at.

“Wow.”

I opened my mouth at the alluring aroma that stimulated my appetite.

Compared to ordinary people, power users need to eat more food.

High-level power users need even more.

So it was natural to worry that Amy might run out of food.

Amy brought a large plate and placed it in front of us.

There was also a fork and knife, but they wouldn’t be used.

The large pizza was cut into pieces and placed on the plate.

An incredibly large slice of pizza was placed on both hands.

The amount that my small mouth could eat at once was very limited.

I stuffed my mouth full of pizza.

The richness of the cheese that wraps around the tip of my tongue and the sour tomato sauce that follows.

The shrimp with a popping texture dances in my mouth.

I eat the pizza with a happy smile.

The large cup that can hold both hands is filled with cola, almost overflowing.

The captivating sight of the cool cola floating on ice naturally makes me reach out.

It was an incredibly satisfying meal.

I could see my full stomach.

As I slumped in the chair and groaned, Amy came out with a wet tissue and wiped Shine’s mouth.

All five pizzas disappeared between the three of us.

After the meal, Amy cleaned up and left the room right away.

It was now familiar to see Amy leaving for quite a long time after dinner time.

Thanks to the dinner time that started a little earlier than usual, I had some time until the broadcast of [The Little Witch’s Great Adventure].

I thought it would be about right if I brushed my teeth and did a quick wash.

I hold Shine’s hand and go into the bathroom.

I stand on the step Amy prepared and brush my teeth and rinse my mouth.

My sparkling white teeth are reflected in the mirror.

I leave the bathroom and run straight to the TV.

The familiar opening starts to play.

Stars twinkling all over the screen.

I grab my pounding heart and get lost in the video.
