Chapter 32: Fairy Tale Playground Concert (2)

Märchen Concert. Märchen Playground’s grand concert.

It had reached an all-time high in viewership—there was no doubt about it.

And the majority of that viewership…

“…It’s surprising that there’s no lag.”

  • 20
  • LOL LOL LOL LOL
  • Why are there so many people here?!
  • Dae-rchen
  • DAE RCHEN
  • Wow, what’s with the concert hall’s quality?
  • No lag at all, huh?

I was deliberately ignoring the fact that this surge in viewers was because of me.

Just now, I secretly checked Cream Café on my phone, and my mini-concert had been leaked.

A tiny stage with only two songs had blown up in popularity.

To the point where…

YouTube had 37,000 viewers. Tujijik had 21,000.

A total of 60,000 people were gathered just to watch my broadcast.

‘No way… I didn’t expect this much attention.’

It seemed like Yuwol’s popularity was skyrocketing beyond my imagination.

I broke into a nervous sweat, but at this point, I decided the viewership count didn’t matter anymore.

It was just an increase from 10,000 to 30,000.

To me, it was all the same.

After my small stage ended, I headed straight to the concert hall.

It was packed with rectangular figures filling the audience seats.

Building a concert hall with 500 audience seats in Minecraft was no easy feat.

But Märchen had managed to pull it off in such a short time.

Truly terrifying developers.

“Hmm… I guess I can’t just stand anywhere, right?”

  • But there are seats, though…
  • I saw an open spot near the entrance earlier.
  • There’s a seat in the corner!
  • Wait, do they even have popcorn? LOL
  • Please observe concert hall etiquette ^^
  • There’s an open seat near the entrance!
  • Whoa… seeing this many people together is kinda creepy LOL

Three minutes had passed since I entered the concert hall.

The host had already started the event, but I still hadn’t found a seat.

The reason was simple—I had arrived late, so the seats had already been taken.

The chat said there was an empty seat near the entrance.

But when I checked again, someone had already taken it.

‘I heard they made plenty of seats… so why can’t I find one?’

Apparently, there were 800 seats, not just 500.

Then why couldn’t I see any?

As I wandered around looking for a seat, I finally spotted an open one in the far upper corner.

It had a direct view of the stage, there were no people nearby, and best of all—there were no lights in that spot.

Now that I had a higher vantage point, I understood why.

Everyone had crowded into the front rows, leaving plenty of open seats in the back.

No one sat beside me, the wall was behind me, and the stage was right in front of me.

“This is a prime spot.”

  • LOL LOL LOL LOL
  • No way LOL
  • Our introverted hero prefers the corner…
  • LOL I didn’t even know this kind of seat existed.
  • It was probably hidden by the crowd earlier.
  • Yuwol looks happy! LOL
  • The way he ran straight to the empty seat is so cute LOL

After sitting down, I closed my mouth like someone who had just entered a movie theater.

The chat also slowed down, as if they sensed my silence.

‘This is exciting.’

I had never been to a concert before.

Maybe that’s why I felt so thrilled.

As my heart pounded with anticipation, the host announced the first performer.

[Ladies and gentlemen! Thank you for your patience! It’s time for the first performance of Märchen Concert! This idol has taken the world by storm with stunning performances and an incredible voice!]

[Introducing LUMI, a first-generation trainee from KR Märchen Live!!! With a bold personality and fearless attitude, our amazing Lumi is here to kick off Märchen Concert!]

[Please give her a warm round of applause and a loud cheer!!]

I wasn’t sure if that introduction was meant to be a compliment or a backhanded jab.

But judging by the audience’s reaction, it seemed to be a good thing.

And the performer, Lumi, seemed to think so too.

[Hey! Why would you introduce me like that?! I already get scolded enough by Anna these days!]

As she spoke with a smile, the excitement in the concert hall soared even higher.

“The first performer is Senior Lumi. I’ve met her once before, and she’s just… how should I put it? Full of energy?”

  • LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL
  • That seems to have… multiple meanings… LOL
  • Um…
  • Ahaha, the first-gen collab LOL
  • Our Lumi is embarrassing no matter where she goes…
  • But, Yuwol… LOL you created her, didn’t you? LOL LOL LOL
  • No way LOL

“I have no idea what you’re talking about. If I had a daughter at my age, that would be a problem in itself…”

  • Gasp!
  • Uh…
  • Huh?!
  • EMERGENCY!!!!!
  • R-right… If Yuwol had a daughter at this age, that would be… uh…
  • He’s absolutely sure about that LOL
  • OMG

I was just joking, but the viewers played along with my joke.

I quickly covered my rising smirk and adjusted my expression.

“Ahem. Anyway, Senior Lumi is… quite an interesting person.”

  • That doesn’t sound like a compliment LOL
  • LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL
  • Is that praise or an insult? LOL
  • Oh dear LOL LOL
  • An 11th-gen critiquing a 1st-gen?!
  • Wow… LOL LOL LOL LOL
  • Our fearless baby warrior… has no fear at all…

…Am I going to get called out for this later?

But the words had already left my mouth, and there was no taking them back.

As I continued chatting with the viewers about the performers…

[Yuwol. Yuwol!]

“Huh? Senior Akira?”

[Hey there~.]

“Senior Anna?”

[Hello, Yuwol.]

“Even Senior Imari?”

Before I knew it, Anna, Akira, and Imari were sitting around me.

A first-gen, a third-gen, and a ninth-gen senior—what a mix.

I wasn’t sure why they chose to sit here instead of with their group members, but since I was familiar with them, I didn’t feel too uncomfortable.

[Why aren’t you all greeting each other?]

[Hello, Senior Anna~.]

[This feels like forcing someone to bow after giving them a gift. Should we just gather up?]

[Gasp.]

That didn’t mean I was going to join their conversation, though.

I preferred to just quietly watch the concert.

That didn’t mean I ignored people when they spoke to me, either.

[By the way, Yuwol. I told you to call me ‘unnie’ last time…]

“Oh.”

I made sure to respond when I was spoken to.

“Imari unnie.”

[Mmm!]

[Huh?! What was that?! Yuwol!]

[Wait. Call me unnie too!]

Imari let out a pleased hum, while Akira looked at me as if I had betrayed her.

Since our avatars were blocky, I couldn’t see her expression, but I was sure she was feeling a deep sense of loss.

Even Anna seemed to want me to call her “unnie” as well.

‘I should’ve just ignored them.’

Answering properly had only put me in an awkward situation.

What do I do now…

“Akira unnie. Anna unnie. Are you satisfied now?”

[Kyaaaa! You finally called me unnie!]

[This kind of feels like forcing someone to bow after giving them a gift…]

Before they could keep teasing me, I hurriedly said it. Akira was thrilled, while Anna gave a rather ambiguous response.

I let them be and focused back on the concert.

‘There are so many skilled performers…’

When it came to Märchen VTubers, that was a given. But even the other streamers were at a pretty high level.

After some time had passed…

[Ah! It’s my turn! I’ll be back, Yuwol!]

[Why don’t you say goodbye to the seniors too…?]

“Good luck.”

It was Akira’s turn.

To be honest, I was curious. Just how good was Akira at singing?

Her distinct voice and high-pitched tone made it hard to imagine what her singing would be like.

But then…

“Oh… Wow.”

  • 20
  • Wow LOL LOL LOL
  • Whoa… LOL LOL LOL
  • This is it, this is it, this is it, this is it, this is it!!!
  • Whoa
  • She effortlessly surpasses three octaves;;;
  • My goodness

Akira sang far better than I had expected.

No, rather than just “good,” she was at a level where she could debut as a singer without any problem.

When she hit the high notes at the end, chills ran down my entire body.

For a moment, I was stunned as the powerful high note slammed into my ears.

And then—

[Yuwol!!! I love you!!!!!]

She suddenly dropped a love confession out of nowhere.

[Now that I think about it, Akira seems even more unfiltered than Lumi.]

[I agree.]

As the two beside me nodded and discussed Akira…

“…I don’t know this person. I am Muil.”

  • LOL LOL LOL LOL
  • LOL LOL
  • But honestly, I get Akira LOL
  • This has been going on persistently since day one… LOL LOL LOL
  • She gave you diamonds, money, and even moved in with you… Honestly, it’d be weird if she didn’t love you LOL
  • Oh, you’re Muil now? LOL
  • LOL LOL LOL

The sudden confession sent a ripple through the audience.

The server chat was flooded with messages calling my name or chanting “Yuwol.”

“I hope this ends quickly…”

I had been looking forward to this concert, but somehow, I had become the center of attention.

  • Who’s going to stream now;;;
  • “Yeah, seriously…”

I absentmindedly nodded at the chat.

If my stream suddenly stopped tomorrow, it would be Akira’s fault.
