“Miss Seria, I’ve completed the training task.”
On the training field, a petite girl let go of the chain in her hand.
The chain was entirely silver, with faintly glowing intricate runes etched along its surface.
At the other end of the chain was a massive pitch-black creature—one that had already lost all signs of life force. A fallen Abyssal Fiend.
She dropped the chain.
Her cute little face showed no expression, but her eyes lit up with delight.
She nearly skipped over to the instructor, saying eagerly, “According to the rules, I can now use the remaining time freely.”
Miss Seria wore rimless glasses.
A tailored combat uniform paired with her stern expression lent her the oppressive aura of a strict disciplinary officer.
Watching Wang Yi enthusiastically trying to “leave early,” she sighed internally.
“Go ahead.”
“Yay!”
Wang Yi cheered happily.
The tightly sealed doors unlocked with an access signal.
As soon as a sliver of space opened up, she dashed out like an orange blur—a streak of lightning in the form of a kitten.
‘Sis, I’m coming!’
At that moment, Wang Ning had no idea her little sister was on her way to visit this “lonely older sister.”
She was currently trying to reason with the blue-haired girl standing in front of her.
“I think… human trafficking is illegal.”
“I know. According to Article 241 of the Imperial Penal Code, those found guilty of buying or selling humans can be sentenced to up to three years in prison.”
“…If you know, then let go of me already!”
Wang Ning was on the verge of collapse. Mildly so.
Glasseanne earnestly replied, “I already said, I want you to be my body pillow. That doesn’t count as human trafficking—at most it’s a transaction?”
Wang Ning’s face went blank. “A pillow transaction?”
“Hmm?” Glasseanne tilted her head, considered it, and said, “Actually, that doesn’t sound so bad either.”
Enough! Did you seriously take that seriously?!
Wang Ning had already lost count of how many breakdowns she’d had since coming to this new world.
All she knew was that every reason drove her to another breakdown.
You must be a member of the school’s Criminal Behavior Society.
Wait, why also a member?
Whatever.
Who cares.
“I seem to remember,” Wang Ning narrowed her eyes and stared at Glasseanne, “you haven’t finished cleaning duty yet, have you?”
The blue-haired girl froze.
She shifted her body slightly.
Those light green eyes darted away behind her bangs, deliberately avoiding eye contact.
Wang Ning: “Heh.”
Under her merciless supervision, Glasseanne finally let go of her and obediently picked up the broom.
But she still wouldn’t give up.
While sweeping, she kept pestering, “So it’s really not okay? I can pay you.”
“Or if you want to know anything—say, the inscription list of the Chaos Obelisk, the magical tech blueprints of the Blade of God, the Abyssal Fiends’ smuggling routes, or the current Emperor’s… scandalous secrets…”
“Whether common or confidential, I can get you anything.”
Her tone was light and casual.
As if these pieces of information—each enough to cause national turmoil—were just apples she could pick and choose from.
Wang Ning: …
That first part sounded high-level and confusing, but how did that last line sneak in?
She felt spiritually exhausted.
One glance at Glasseanne’s face and her inner gremlin tendencies were triggered.
“Then I want to know the Empress’s three sizes.”
The second she said it, Wang Ning regretted it deeply.
She double-checked whether her brainstem was still intact.
‘Senior Karine… I’m sorry.’
‘My mouth acted on its own again!’
To her horror, Glasseanne actually paused and thought seriously about it.
She furrowed her brows.
Then said, “Hmm… I don’t think I have that one yet.”
But almost immediately, her expression eased.
With a soft laugh, she added, “No worries. I’ll get it for you by tomorrow.”
Then she suddenly turned around.
Her usually half-lidded eyes widened, like a kid receiving candy.
“So, Wang Ning, are you agreeing to the trade?”
Wang Ning’s hair stood on end. “No! And you’re absolutely not allowed to look it up or tell me that… that—just don’t!”
Glasseanne tilted her head in confusion.
Then calmly stated, “No take-backs.”
“I never agreed in the first place!”
Panicking to prove her “innocence,” Wang Ning grabbed Glasseanne’s arm.
But her foot accidentally caught on something.
She tripped and stumbled forward in horror.
“Move—move out of the way!”
Footsteps echoed in the hallway.
Wang Yi walked quickly toward Class A.
She had already memorized her sister’s class schedule and duty roster.
Tracking her sister’s whereabouts was a piece of cake.
It was just past six, and there were no evening classes today.
Her sister should be cleaning the classroom.
Wang Yi’s schedule was packed to the brim.
Trapped in a mountain of coursework, she hadn’t seen her sister in almost three whole days!
Just the thought of seeing her again made her ears twitch from excitement.
Tap tap tap—
She skipped to the classroom door.
It wasn’t shut.
She stepped right in.
Her heart pounded to its peak with excitement.
Wang Yi immediately locked onto her sister’s scent.
And shouted joyfully—
“Sis! I’m here—!”
“…Eh?”
