Chapter 32: The Butcher’s Playground

[No way, you’re playing this?]

[Of all things, this one?]

Since the game was famous, everyone recognized it immediately.

[Did they suddenly feel like playing it because it’s trending?]

[Well, it’s not bad for a streamer to play popular games.]

[But it kinda feels like they’re just following the trend.]

[I liked it better when they played things others didn’t.]

To the viewers, Seyul was someone who always chose the unconventional path.

That was part of the appeal.

So, when they suddenly started a mainstream game, some negative opinions emerged.

But they were in the minority.

[They’re really playing this?!]

[I’ve been enjoying watching streams of this game lately!]

[Awesome!]

[They should’ve followed trends sooner!]

[To be honest, both Warrior of God and Untouchable are old games.]

[Not that they’re bad, but they don’t compare to newer ones.]

[Good choice.]

[Playing trending games is the shortcut to becoming a top streamer.]

<Hooeung has donated 100,000 won>

[Aren’t they already a top streamer?]

[I just come here for Seyul, so it doesn’t matter what game they play.]

[I’d watch even if they played farming sims.]

[Okay, that’s a bit much, lol.]

A trending game.

And the fact that they had a history of switching games unexpectedly.

Because of those two factors, the reaction this time was different from when they played Untouchable.

The positive feedback was overwhelming, and the number of new viewers was even higher.

[What’s going on?]

[Why are so many people flooding in?]

[Came in because I saw the crowd.]

[I’ve never seen a streamer this big before.]

[How have I not heard of them until now, with this many viewers?]

Since it was a stream of a trending game, the viewer count was massive.

People, curious about the hype, flocked to the stream in droves.

Because Seyul had grown so quickly, many still didn’t know about them.

To newcomers, they seemed like a giant streamer who had suddenly appeared out of nowhere, making them even more intriguing.

Inside Kill Me Psychopath, Seyul’s avatar was dressed in a white dress.

Just like how ghost maidens always wore white mourning robes.

The outfit was a default option for female players, chosen to fit the horror atmosphere.

It was purely for aesthetic purposes.

But on Seyul, even calling it “a good fit” felt like an understatement.

The combination of their silver hair, porcelain skin, and the flowing white dress was mesmerizing.

Their delicate frame, barely covered by the thin fabric, made them look fragile.

A blend of innocence and sorrow, their appearance radiated a dreamlike beauty.

[Who is this?]

[An angel?]

<Blue has donated 30,000 won>

[They look like they belong in an art film.]

[That face alone shifts the whole genre.]

<Akaka has donated 90,000 won>

[They look like a living masterpiece.]

<230,000 won donated>

[Way better than those try-hard revealing outfits!]

<Hooeung has donated 100,000 won>

People were in awe, showering donations.

Despite the enthusiasm, the recipient of those donations felt uneasy.

‘I don’t even like horror games.’

Seyul wasn’t a fan of the horror genre.

Under normal circumstances, they never would’ve played this.

If not for Semi.

“Oppa, make sure you play this tomorrow.”

After going out yesterday because of a Hunter’s visit, they came home to find Semi pushing a game at them.

“What is this?”

“It’s called Kill Me Psychopath, a horror game. You seem to like games, so I bought it for you.”

“This? But I don’t like horror.”

“Come on, just try it!”

Semi had insisted.

Since his little sister had gone through the trouble of buying it for him, it was hard for Seyul to refuse.

‘The atmosphere is fittingly eerie for a horror game.’

Seyul examined the game he had entered unwillingly.

Since it was a horror game, the setting exuded a creepy vibe.

An abandoned amusement park in the dead of night.

The rides moved on their own, despite having no passengers.

It was the kind of scene that would make anyone with a weak heart tremble.

‘When does the narration start?’

Standing in the middle of that eerie setting, Seyul waited for the narration to begin.

Every game he had played so far had narration.

<Heeheehee, you’ve waited long enough, everyone!>

A moment later.

Instead of narration, a bizarre laughter echoed through the park’s announcement system.

<Tonight, the host once again kicks off the show!>

The owner of the voice, who introduced himself as the host.

He began speaking with a sinister chuckle.

<Oh my, what a beautiful young lady we have as today’s sacrifice!>

<For our first-time victims and guests, let me explain.>

This game had no traditional narration.

Instead, a character called the “Host” filled that role.

<Miss, you’ve been chosen as the star of the show~>

<Heehee, though the star changes every time if they don’t survive.>

<Will you be able to escape the murderers lurking in this amusement park?>

The premise of Kill Me Psychopath was as follows:

One day, the protagonist is suddenly kidnapped and brought to a strange amusement park.

The park serves as the stage for a sadistic show created by the wealthy with twisted tastes.

These rich individuals gathered serial killers who deserved execution and confined them in the park.

Then, they abducted civilians and locked them inside, broadcasting their gruesome deaths at the hands of the killers.

The player’s goal was to escape while avoiding the murderous fiends in this horrifying spectacle.

[Most people die like dogs.]

[There are at least 100 killers in the game.]

[How are you supposed to escape all of them?!]

[The protagonist is ridiculously weak.]

[They’re just an ordinary human and can’t even use weapons.]

[The devs disabled picking up murderers’ weapons.]

If players could use weapons, they might have been able to fight back.

However, the developers felt that went against the game’s theme and blocked the option.

In short, resistance was impossible; the only option was to run.

Naturally, this made the game incredibly difficult, but that brutal difficulty contributed to its popularity as a horror game.

‘I guess I can’t use a spear.’

Knowing this basic setup, Seyul moved without attempting to pick up a weapon.

Ding-ding-ding~

After walking about ten meters, a carousel came into view.

Spinning alone, playing its eerie tune in the darkness.

What might have sounded pleasant in the morning felt terrifying at night.

Screech.

Amid the music, an ominous noise mixed in.

A scraping sound, like metal dragging on the ground.

Seyul turned toward the source and saw a clown.

“1”

Even the clown was taken aback, but suddenly, a sharp impact struck his ankle.

Before he could react, Seyul had already slipped behind him and kicked his foot.

The clown lost his balance in an instant.

Seyul grabbed his head as he was about to fall.

Using the momentum of his collapsing body, she twisted his head cleanly.

A cracking sound echoed.

Instant death.

“0”

Neither the host nor the viewers could utter a single word.

Even Seyul, who had just snapped his neck, silently continued on her way.

As usual, she ignored the game’s story entirely and simply went in the direction she wanted.

“Whoosh! Whoosh!”

Another suspicious-looking figure suddenly appeared.

A muscular black man dressed like a boxer.

Without gloves, he shadowboxed the air as he approached Seyul.

<Introducing the Slaughter Champion!>

As the new killer emerged, the host stammered but quickly began his introduction.

<Once a shining champion, he was imprisoned for committing a crime.>

<Kicked out of the industry, he found a new passion instead.>

<Beating people to death with his well-honed fists!>

<Did you know? The most lethal human weapon in the world is a heavyweight boxing champion.>

<A living weapon that can kill until his fists break is now after you!>

The brief introduction of the so-called Slaughter Champion concluded.

As if waiting for it, the Slaughter Champion grinned and spoke.

“A-A pretty girl, huh? Killing women is so much more satisfying than killing men. Let’s see just how pretty your insides are. Hehehe!”

“I’ll confirm that for you.”

Muttering like a lunatic, saliva dripped from his mouth as he spoke.

In the blink of an eye, he closed the distance with ghost-like footwork.

The hammer-like fists of a heavyweight boxer shot toward Seyul’s head.

And then—he went flying through the air.

Seyul had grabbed his outstretched arm and executed a flawless over-the-shoulder throw.

The massive man was effortlessly tossed by the petite girl.

He spun midair and landed on both feet, though not by his own will.

Somehow, Seyul had forced him to land upright.

“W-What the—”

The Slaughter Champion was so shocked he couldn’t even finish his sentence.

She had used his own attacking force to throw him effortlessly.

That alone was astonishing, but the fact that she forced him to land upright was beyond comprehension.

As a longtime champion who had trained in martial arts for years, he had never seen such a thing before.

“A-A true martial artist should fight honorably with rules and manners!”

Recognizing Seyul as an unfathomable martial artist, he quickly proposed a fair fight.

But no one cared about his nonsense.

Seyul ignored his plea and kicked him straight in the groin.

“Argh!”

The Slaughter Champion let out a shrill scream and collapsed to the ground.

While he writhed in agony, Seyul raised her heel and stomped down on his neck with her full weight.

Even with her small frame, a well-placed stomp with her entire body weight had devastating power.

Once again, a neck snapped instantly.

Another immediate kill.

<What the f*ck?!>

With yet another killer down, the host completely lost his composure.

[Called it.]

Meanwhile, the longtime viewers remained unfazed.

[The killers in this game are strong, sure.]

[Most are former elite athletes, trained soldiers, or even beast-like monsters.]

[So, are they stronger than an orc warlord?]

[No way. These guys are just humans.]

[Seyul has fought literal monsters, wielding nothing but a spear. These killers are nothing compared to that.]

The veteran viewers knew exactly what Seyul was capable of.

They had already half-expected this outcome.

<What the hell is she?!>

Unlike the viewers, the host, who was seeing Seyul for the first time, was drowning in sheer disbelief.

<What did she just do? I’ve been running this show for years, goddammit!>

<What the hell are the staff doing?! Of all the people to kidnap, why did they have to bring in this freak?!>

<f*ck! The sponsors are already complaining!>

<No, seriously, how the hell did we even manage to abduct something like her?>

Dropping all pretense of his usual act, the host erupted in rage.

His voice was nothing but a stream of curses.

Annoyed by the loud ranting, Seyul furrowed her brows.

“Your voice is irritating.”

Irritated by the noise, she made her decision.

“Let’s wipe them out.”

Instead of escaping a place swarming with killers, she chose to slaughter them all.
