To defeat a monster like Avisotel, a creature that had already surpassed all limits, there was not even the faintest sliver of hope with Ye Yousheng’s current capabilities.
Even if he obtained an enormous amount of HP, all it really did was make him “tankier,” making it harder for him to die so easily.
But surviving and defeating the enemy were two completely different things.
As mentioned before, because Ye Yousheng’s attack power was too low, when facing durable monsters like the Death Knell, he simply could not break through their defenses.
The Gargoyle from earlier was the same.
Because Ye Yousheng could not injure it directly, he had used the Doppelganger’s self-destruction upon death to blow the Gargoyle apart.
And as for Avisotel…
Ye Yousheng did not believe for a second that a monster capable of crushing a Gargoyle with one strike would possess weak defenses.
So then, how was he supposed to defeat this practically invincible monster at this stage?
If only he could transform into the Goddess once more, then everything would probably resolve itself immediately.
Unfortunately, there were still nearly thirty minutes remaining before the cooldown ended.
Thirty minutes.
It sounded short, but at a critical moment like this, even one extra second felt agonizingly long.
Perhaps immediately retreating into the stairwell and waiting for half an hour was the safest and most reliable option.
But he could not abandon Alicia.
If he hid inside the stairwell alone, Avisotel would definitely go after Alicia instead.
To ensure Alicia’s survival, he had to make himself the center of attention!
And so, Ye Yousheng chose the second method.
As for the success rate of this method, even he could not be sure.
Honestly, rather than calling it a “method,” it would be more accurate to call it a gamble.
Since he himself could not defeat that monkey, then all he had to do was find another monster on the same level and let them slaughter each other!
Whoever lived or died afterward had nothing to do with Ye Yousheng.
While the two monsters fought, he would quickly find Alicia and escape using the teleportation array.
But the problem was—
Where could he possibly find a monster as powerful as that monkey?
That monkey was a terrifying creature whose level could not even be seen, a being whose rank surpassed even Lulu’s!
At this stage, it was absolutely the supreme ruler of the labyrinth!
Everyone knew that one mountain could not contain two tigers.
Ye Yousheng believed there should not be any monster stronger than it on the thirtieth floor.
However, if there wasn’t one on this floor…
Then he simply had to keep going downward.
If Alicia knew what Ye Yousheng was thinking right now, she would definitely stare at him in shock.
Because everyone knew the dungeon labyrinth only had thirty floors.
Calling it common knowledge across the entire Misty Continent would not be an exaggeration.
If that were the case, then where exactly was this so-called thirty-first floor supposed to come from?
Truthfully, even Ye Yousheng himself only half-believed it.
There was no factual basis.
No concrete evidence.
All he had were memories from the game he once played.
In that absurdly difficult game, the dungeon labyrinth really did possess a hidden floor.
As long as the boss of the thirtieth floor was defeated, there was a chance to trigger the “Floor Collapse” event and descend to the hidden thirty-first floor.
And inside that floor…
There was a very, very, very absurd Blue Slime.
A monster so outrageously broken that only in the late stages of the game, after bringing a massive party and paying an enormous price, could players possibly defeat it.
But the dungeon labyrinth was an early-game dungeon!
Putting such a ridiculously overpowered monster in a place like this…
The game developers absolutely had something wrong with their brains.
This was Ye Yousheng’s so-called “basis.”
Believing that perhaps there really was another hidden floor underground—
—and that there really was a slime powerful enough to make people cough blood in despair—
He had chosen to carry out this plan.
If there was no hidden floor…
Or if there was one, but the monster inside turned out to be weak…
Then everything would be completely over.
So this was a gamble.
A massive gamble staking both his life and his future!
Time continued passing second by second, while the HP he accumulated continued increasing.
Cracks had already appeared along the blade of the Breeze Dagger.
After slaughtering so many monsters, even this high-quality weapon had finally reached its limit.
Ye Yousheng immediately sheathed the dagger and switched to fighting with a spear stolen from a Pigman Spearman.
If it broke, then he would simply grab another weapon.
“Oh my? You’re killing again already?”
“Muhihihihi… you little human are actually kinda impressive~”
“To think you killed this many all by yourself.”
“Though, I guess these trash mobs weren’t all that strong to begin with…”
“But wow, your wounds really heal fast…”
Avisotel slowly walked over, leisurely resting both hands behind its head as it watched the “show” before it.
After cruelly slaughtering a portion of its own subordinates due to one of its mood swings, it had now returned to its usual grinning demeanor.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Ye Yousheng had already finished his preparations.
His HP had accumulated to 339,640 points.
Three hundred thousand HP.
That was enough.
And so, he raised his voice and shouted the most provocative words possible.
“You stupid monkey! If you’ve got the guts, then come catch me!”
“You think eating human brains made you smarter?!”
“Lemme tell you something—you’re still just an ignorant monkey!”
“You always will be!”
Usually, Ye Yousheng was a man of few words.
Even his insults were painfully lacking in creativity.
If an ordinary person heard those words, they would probably just laugh them off.
But for Avisotel…
“What… did… you… say?!”
It hated being called a monkey more than anything else.
Even though…
It actually was a monkey.
