To meet Lee Harin, the S-rank hunter.
I was in a car, heading towards the Hunter Association, accompanied by an Association employee.
The silence in the car allowed me to gather my thoughts.
‘What will she be like…?’
Judging by her videos and actions, she seemed like a lunatic.
However, I couldn’t make assumptions. She might act differently in person.
‘Still…’
I intended to advise her against harming innocent people.
While those in her videos might have been wrong, they didn’t deserve to die.
More importantly, I planned to bring other women into this world, and I didn’t want them to see this chaotic reality.
‘Although I’ve already brought Himiko here.’
And I wouldn’t tolerate anyone else taking lives indiscriminately.
Only I could do that.
Especially in this world, the foundation of my reality.
I arrived at the Hunter Association, completed the identification process, and entered the building.
Having been here once before for my S-rank certification, I was familiar with the layout.
‘This must be it.’
A massive door stood before me, likely leading to Lee Harin, one of the two S-rank hunters in South Korea.
Creak
I pushed the doors open and saw Lee Harin waiting for me on a sofa.
“You’re here.”
I realized instantly. Her true nature was that of someone who reveled in the suffering of others.
The same expression she wore in her videos was present now.
While an ordinary person might not notice, my enhanced senses and the Demonic Divine Art allowed me to perceive her true nature.
“I’ve been curious. A new S-rank hunter appearing in my kingdom… This is unacceptable.”
As soon as she finished speaking, my body froze, starting from my toes.
“Die for my kingdom. South Korea is nothing without Lee Harin. It must remain weak and dependent. That’s how I maintain my power.”
So she believed that even if she killed me, she would remain untouchable as the sole S-rank hunter in South Korea?
She was right. Only another S-rank hunter could punish her.
Unless someone decided to nuke Seoul.
This confirmed it.
We couldn’t coexist.
One of us had to die.
And it wouldn’t be me.
I channeled demonic energy, shattering the ice encasing me. I grabbed her face.
“What?! Let go! How did you break my ice?!”
I calmly stated the obvious as she struggled.
“Because I’m stronger than you.”
She hadn’t anticipated this level of power. During the evaluation, my stats were only at 100. She must have thought I was manageable.
But now, all my stats were at 150, a level beyond comparison.
I had transcended the limitations of an S-rank hunter.
Therefore, the S-rank hunters of this world were no match for me.
I tightened my grip.
“Aaargh! You crazy bastard! Let go!”
Her beautiful face, admired by many, began to contort.
Initially defiant, she started to cry and beg as she realized I was serious.
“I-I was wrong! Please, spare me!”
Someone once said that a woman’s tears were a weapon.
That didn’t apply to me.
My heart remained cold and unmoved.
I squeezed, crushing her skull like a watermelon.
Blood splattered across my face.
As bits of flesh and bone scattered, I was surprised by the calmness I felt.
The man who had trembled after his first kill was gone.
But I didn’t feel bad.
I hadn’t killed an innocent person. I had killed someone who tried to kill me.
I wouldn’t seek conflict unless provoked.
But she had made the first move, and she paid the price.
‘This is a bit of a nuisance.’
It wouldn’t be a problem, though.
I was now the sole S-rank hunter in South Korea. If the government couldn’t do anything against a weaker Lee Harin, they wouldn’t dare challenge me.
And if they targeted my loved ones instead, they would face my wrath.
“Time to go.”
I would deal with the aftermath later.
