Ye Shengge was certain that so many coincidences happening in such a short time definitely involved the dolls making trouble.
Even knowing this, he had no choice.
The dungeon plot had just begun, and the Dollmaker character had no idea his dolls were not ordinary objects, but terrifying existences with self-awareness.
So even if he was annoyed, he had to endure it.
He couldn’t even scold them properly while they were still undressed.
However, once they were clothed and moved to separate rooms, he could find an opportunity to play tricks on them.
A gentleman’s revenge is never too late.
Thinking of this, Ye Shengge’s expression softened.
He stood up with motivation and ran to the second-floor walk-in closet to get underwear and trousers for the dolls.
This time, while putting on the trousers, he specifically wore a pair of medical gloves.
He figured that even if the dolls played more tricks, he wouldn’t touch their skin directly.
He wondered what material these dolls were made of to be so lifelike.
Touching them felt almost the same as a real person.
Perhaps the gloves worked, or perhaps the dolls had an epiphany.
During the process of Ye Shengge helping them change their underwear, they actually restrained their mischievous nature.
They did not continue to do things that made it difficult for him.
Ye Shengge closed his eyes and awkwardly pulled the underwear and trousers onto the two dolls.
After finishing, he let out a long sigh of relief and wiped the cold sweat from his forehead.
He said to the system: [These two dolls don’t look that scary.]
Aside from being a bit troublesome, they were mostly fine.
The system remained silent for a few seconds before reminding him: [Do not be blinded by their appearance.]
These were just two dolls he hadn’t offended yet, and they were already this difficult.
The system could hardly imagine how the six blackened dolls in the basement would treat Ye Shengge.
The abandoned dolls might not harm their master, but they would certainly use “taking advantage” as a way to punish their fickle little owner.
The system wondered if the delicate host could endure the punishment of so many blackened dolls at once.
Ye Shengge did not know what improper things the system was thinking, but he nodded seriously.
He said: [I understand.]
He was no longer the simple person from the first dungeon who was easily fooled.
After one dungeon’s training, he had evolved.
Even if he was still a bit slow, his vigilance toward NPCs and bosses had grown.
He wouldn’t mistake a boss for an innocent person again.
Not to mention, there were a total of nine doll bosses this time.
Even if they weren’t strong individually, nine of them together would be a formidable force.
Ye Shengge looked at the two dolls on the sofa with a complicated mood.
Unless the dolls fought each other, he should try not to offend any of them.
He resignedly bent over and supported the arm of one of the dolls.
He planned to half-hug and half-drag it to a room on the first floor.
But as he tried to stand straight, he realized something was wrong.
This doll was incredibly heavy.
He didn’t know what material the “he” in the story used, but the weight was exactly like a real person!
He tentatively tried to hug the other doll, but it was the same; they were too heavy to move.
The system finally spoke up: [Look behind the sofa. There is a cart specifically for moving dolls.]
Ye Shengge dropped the doll and ran behind the sofa, finding the cart immediately.
He said excitedly to the system: [There really is a cart! I’ll move these two first, then bring the six from the basement up.]
That way, he wouldn’t have to drag heavy bodies around manually.
Hearing his plan, the system instinctively tried to stop him: [It is best if you do not go to the basement right now.]
[Why? There are plenty of empty rooms here. Maybe if I bring them up, their resentment will fade,] Ye Shengge asked in confusion.
He had seen many empty rooms in the villa.
He wasn’t afraid of nine dolls, or even nineteen.
If the system was worried about the dolls harming him, there was no need.
The plot had just begun.
Even if they were resentful, they would respect his status as the creator for now.
They wouldn’t let him discover their consciousness so soon.
The system could sense his thoughts and was hesitant to explain its real worries.
Given how sensitive and shy the host was, speaking out might make things worse.
If those in the basement realized he was trying to appease them, they might try to keep him there forever.
The system sighed internally, wondering if the host’s charm was a blessing or a curse.
Ye Shengge knew nothing of the system’s conflict and began fiddling with the cart.
He did not notice that the two dolls on the sofa reacted when he left their line of sight.
They could not turn their heads, so they couldn’t see him behind the sofa.
Anxiety rose in their hearts.
They wanted to do something to relieve the stress, but they were interrupted by the sound of the cart wheels.
The rolling sound echoed in the empty living room.
Then their exquisite creator reappeared.
The moment they saw him, the dolls’ anxiety vanished.
They pretended to be lifeless, staring at their creator with hidden longing and love.
They envied the doll that had been lucky enough to be taken to the room earlier.
Now that the creator had a cart, was he going to move them to a room too?
The thought made them want to break their restraints and hold him tightly so he could never leave.
But it wouldn’t be long. In three days at most, they would be free.
As the creator got closer, both dolls had a thought.
Actually, their creator looked more like an exquisite doll meant to be collected than they did.
Just then, a message notification broke the atmosphere.
Ye Shengge put down the cart and checked his phone.
It was a voice message from his childhood friend.
He opened it right in front of the two dolls.
Wen Jingshi’s warm voice sounded from the speaker.
“Shengge, are you still angry with me? I won’t leave again. Let’s meet at your house tomorrow at 3:00 PM. If you are unhappy, you can hit or scold me, but please don’t keep it inside; you will get sick.”
He was still the same, always tolerant of the younger brother’s temper.
However, Ye Shengge’s first reaction was not comfort, but pure dread.
If the dolls heard these words, which indicated a very close relationship, what would they think?
He couldn’t be so unlucky as to “roll the car” right at the start because of a voice message, could he?
