Bai Xia felt a flutter of panic as she realized that Mo Bai could knock on her door at any moment. Her apartment was a mess: soap suds littered the bathroom floor, her uniform from the night before was strewn across a stool beside the coffee table, and various items were scattered about, left uncollected from the previous evening. She had to tidy up before Mo Bai arrived.
Rushing to stand, Bai Xia slipped on the soapy water, landing with a splash into the laundry basin. Water splashed everywhere, soaking her white nightgown and rendering it semi-transparent in the morning sunlight. Her petite figure was barely concealed, and a closer look would reveal that she was wearing nothing underneath.
“Oh no… How unlucky!” Bai Xia muttered, hastily climbing out of the basin and rushing to the wardrobe to find clean clothes. The wet nightgown clung to her body, outlining her youthful curves, with water dripping from the hem.
If Mo Bai saw her like this, she couldn’t bear to think of the consequences. Yet, as if to mock her fears, a knock at the front door made her jump, nearly leaping out of her skin. It was Mo Bai’s voice, muffled through the door, ordering her to open up. Her heart raced as she fumbled in the wardrobe, desperately trying to find something to change into. In her haste, she grabbed a small blanket and wrapped it around her sodden body before going to open the door.
“Sorry, Mo Bai, I was just…” Bai Xia stammered, her face flushed with embarrassment. Her disheveled hair and the blanket clutched tightly around her made her appear disheveled and unconvincing.
Mo Bai’s brows furrowed slightly as he took in the scene, then noticed the chaotic state of the apartment, the water trail leading from the bathroom, and the clothes strewn about. He spotted the overturned laundry basin and realized what had happened.
A mixture of amusement and exasperation crossed his face.
“Actually, you could have just said you weren’t feeling well. You didn’t need to make such a mess…” Mo Bai’s voice grew hoarse, and he instinctively tightened his arm around her waist.
Bai Xia blushed deeply, struggling to free herself, but her movements only caused the blanket to slip, revealing her wet nightgown beneath. Mo Bai’s eyes widened as he took in the sight of her delicate form, barely concealed by the clinging fabric.
“Please, Mo Bai, let me go. I’m all wet!” she pleaded, her voice barely a whisper.
But Mo Bai only responded with a gentle, “I don’t mind,” and swept her up into a bridal carry, settling on her small bed.
Bai Xia’s face flushed as she nestled against him, the wet nightgown soaking through his expensive shirt. She panicked, realizing that beneath the nightgown, she was wearing nothing. If Mo Bai found out, her reputation would be ruined. But more troubling was the hunger in his gaze, and the way her body seemed to respond despite her mind’s protests. She pushed weakly at his chest, her voice a soft murmur,
“Please, Mo Bai, let me go. I need to change…” But Mo Bai only pulled her closer, his breath hot against her ear,
“Why change? This is perfect…”
Bai Xia’s thoughts raced as she felt his touch, her body betraying her as it leaned into his embrace. She tried to push him away, but her strength had fled, leaving her soft and pliable in his arms. Her long, white hair brushed against his neck, carrying the faint scent of shampoo. As she struggled, his arm tightened around her, pulling her deeper into his embrace.
“Please, let me go,” she whispered, her voice trembling with a mix of embarrassment and desire. Mo Bai’s eyes sparkled with mischief, and he leaned in closer, his lips nearly brushing her ear,
“Stay with me…”
Bai Xia’s mind went blank, her body responding to his touch even as her mind screamed for her to resist. She could feel his hand exploring beneath her, sending shivers through her body. Suddenly, Mo Bai realized that she wasn’t wearing anything under the nightgown. His mind raced with the implications, and he quickly pulled away, setting her gently on the bed.
“Okay, enough. Go change your clothes,” he said, his voice steady despite the turmoil within. Bai Xia, relieved, grabbed her clothes and rushed into the bathroom, closing the door behind her. Mo Bai was left alone on the bed, a sigh escaping his lips.
“That was close…”
