Chapter 35: Demon Slayer Blade, Part 7

I had intended to avoid this world until I found a way to heal Shinobu, who had been severely injured in her fight against Akaza.

However, I found a solution sooner than expected.

The Elixir from the random draw.

While it was a one-time item, it was enough for now.

I opened the vial, its contents shimmering with rainbow hues, and poured it into Shinobu’s mouth.

Gulp Gulp

She swallowed, her throat thankfully still functioning.

Now, it was time to wait for the effects to manifest.

‘It’s an Elixir, so I have faith.’

I waited patiently.

After a moment that felt like an eternity, Shinobu stirred.

Her eyes fluttered open, revealing the familiar vibrant violet.

“Demonic God…?”

“Demonic God…?”

“Yes. You told me to call you that.”

I had indeed. When I first entered this world, I was still enamored with the title, believing it sounded impressive.

However, after my experiences in Attack on Titan and Jujutsu Kaisen, I realized that such titles were only necessary when asserting dominance.

There was no need to maintain such a facade with those within my inner circle.

That’s why I revealed my true name.

“No, call me Lee Suho from now on. That’s my name.”

Shinobu smiled brightly.

“Alright, Suho.”

“Hmm, the formal tone doesn’t suit you. Just speak casually.”

“I can’t…”

“It’s fine. I’m speaking casually to you. It feels awkward if it’s only one-sided.”

“Then, if you insist.”

Shinobu smiled again, as if amused by my eagerness for casual speech.

“Thank you for saving me, Suho.”

I was speechless, captivated by her radiant smile.

I had made the right choice in saving her.

“Aoi, let me help you.”

“It’s okay!”

“No, I want to help.”

I chatted with Aoi, who had become quite comfortable around me, as we hung laundry together.

She brought up Shinobu.

“Thank you.”

“For what?”

“For saving Shinobu. If anything had happened to her, I would have been devastated.”

I shook my head.

“You don’t need to thank me. I saved Shinobu because I wanted to.”

“Still, I’m grateful. Thank you again for saving Shinobu.”

Aoi’s face was radiant with a smile, and I couldn’t help but smile too.

I had protected that smile.

“You’re welcome.”

“The potion you used to save me…was it called an Elixir?”

I nodded.

“Yes. It can even revive the dead, believe it or not.”

Shinobu’s expression was firm.

“I believe you.”

“Thank you for trusting me.”

“Who else would I believe, if not you?”

“Why the formal tone again…?”

“I always speak formally while working. Do you want me to speak casually, Suho?”

“It’s fine while you’re working.”

“Thank you for understanding.”

I could sense a shift in our relationship recently.

It felt like we were more than friends, but not quite lovers.

While it could have been wishful thinking, Shinobu’s behavior suggested otherwise.

“With half remaining, this should be enough for a sample analysis.”

I had used half the Elixir to heal Shinobu, and it had fully restored her health.

This demonstrated the Elixir’s potency.

It was as the description said, capable of reviving even the dead.

“I’ll leave it to you, then.”

Shinobu’s expression turned serious.

“I’ll do my best to research this. To mass-produce Elixirs.”

While Elixirs were only obtainable through random draws and couldn’t be purchased, I wouldn’t rely solely on luck.

If there was another way, I would utilize it.

I would undoubtedly need more Elixirs in the future, and I couldn’t afford to waste points on endless draws.

“Thank you, Shinobu.”

“Thank you too, Suho.”

Her casual tone caught me off guard.
