Chapter 36 : Increase the number of followers IV

Rosetta’s boast that they wouldn’t attack their own kind.

While I didn’t fully believe her, I decided to go into the warehouse to find my motorcycle.

“Hmm…”

“We definitely won’t attack you. Don’t be so stiff…”

I’m not stiff, I’m quite flexible…

Ignoring Rosetta’s words, I looked inside the warehouse.

The half-collapsed area was sealed off with cement, and the intact parts were renovated to be livable.

“Boss~”

As soon as we entered the warehouse, Rosetta called out loudly for someone.

She seemed to be calling for the leader of her clan.

The person Rosetta was looking for appeared quickly.

A man started walking from a distance.

He looked about 190 cm tall, wearing a tattered red coat.

His red vampire eyes gleamed through his wild hair.

“Is that the boss?”

“Yes, he’s our clan leader.”

[Fricks]

Level: 20

Race: Vampire

Health: 100%

Mana: 100%

Emotional State: Calm, interested, slightly excited

Information about Fricks revealed through my Mystic Eye.

He seemed to be a vampire with high control over blood, as a red aura swirled around his feet.

“What is it, Rosetta? Who is this?”

Despite his grim appearance, his voice was surprisingly normal.

Rosetta answered him.

“She said she’s here to find her motorcycle. It seems that guy stole something again.”

“Stole something from a vampire?”

Fricks frowned at Rosetta’s words.

He sighed deeply and approached me.

“Hey there… What’s your name? Which clan are you from?”

“I’m Charlotte. I don’t belong to any clan.”

“No clan…? Alright, Charlotte. First, I should apologize. It seems our people made a mistake.”

A gaze looking down from his tall height.

The natural pressure that comes from his large frame.

I took a step back and said,

“You mean your people? Humans?”

Fricks tightened his lips at my words.

There seemed to be something he was hiding.

Could it be that he actually had human friends?

Fricks, avoiding the answer, responded with a question.

“So, your stolen item is a motorcycle?”

When I nodded, Fricks looked me up and down.

He then tilted his head in confusion.

“With that height?”

I sighed.

Even short people can ride motorcycles.

Though I do need to team up with Aurel and Hwanggu to do it.

“Hmm…”

“Honestly, boss, it’s hard to believe, right?”

Fricks didn’t respond to Rosetta’s question.

Instead, he motioned for me to follow him.

So, I walked behind Fricks for a while.

I could feel the curious and friendly gazes from the vampires around us.

Rosetta’s claim that vampires don’t attack their own seemed to be true.

But this guy’s stride is huge.

Fricks walked quickly with his long legs.

I was walking as fast as I could, but I had to jog to keep up with him. I hurried to catch up with Fricks.

“Hey.”

“Fricks.”

“Yes, Fricks.”

“What?”

“Can you walk a bit slower?”

Fricks stopped at my request.

He glanced at my short legs and nodded.

It seemed he wasn’t a bad person after all.

Fricks matched his pace to mine and walked slowly.

“This is the garage.”

Following Fricks, I arrived at a space inside the warehouse that had been converted. It was close to the back door, indicating that vehicles frequently moved in and out through this area.

“Ah!”

I spotted my motorcycle parked next to a large van.

“There it is!”

I quickly ran over to inspect my motorcycle. Was there any damage? Although, with my lack of expertise, it wouldn’t make much difference if there was.

“Is that really yours?”

“Yes.”

I nodded in response to Fricks’ question. He frowned and exchanged a glance with Rosetta.

“I’m not convinced.”

Fricks crossed his arms.

Not convinced? Was he doubting that this motorcycle was mine?

So, he seemed willing to hand it over but then found a way to object.

I frowned and glared at Fricks.

“Why don’t you believe me?”

“Well, it’s because… you’re short.”

“What?”

“You can’t even ride that.”

“You’re saying I can’t ride this?”

Absolutely not.

I jumped onto the motorcycle.

Look, by reaching out like this, I can start the engine and grab the handles.

Fricks chuckled at my display.

Did I look that funny to him?

As I glared at him, Fricks turned to Rosetta.

“Go get some blood. Two glasses.”

“Do you like her?”

“Yeah.”

Rosetta sighed and walked away.

Fricks fetched a nearby chair and placed it in front of me.

“Charlotte, is that motorcycle really yours?”

Fricks asked me as he sat down on a chair. His voice was calm and soothing, like an adult gently guiding a child.

Of course, the motorcycle was mine. I nodded confidently.

“Then could you show me how you ride it?”

“Here?”

“Yes. If you can ride it, I’ll let you have it back.”

“Why should I do what you say?”

“Because I can’t believe that the motorcycle is really yours.”

I raised an eyebrow. Demanding a lot for just retrieving my belongings. Though I felt tempted to make this cheeky vampire my servant, he had been somewhat polite, so I decided to go along with it this time.

“Alright.”

Showing how I rode the motorcycle wasn’t hard. Aurel and Hwanggu weren’t there, but I had other servants.

“Come out!”

The moment I spread my arms and shouted, the shadows at my feet began to stir.

I needed only two servants.

From the shadows emerged Yeppi and Moon Rabbit.

“You know what to do, right?”

“For that…?”

“Yes.”

They must have seen Hwanggu and Aurel do it from the shadows.

Just as Yeppi and Moon Rabbit were approaching me, Fricks was startled and stood up.

“Those children…?”

“They’re my servants.”

I answered with a light smile.

I had planned to show my abilities and ask for their cooperation in the fight against Fenrir when meeting a vampire clan.

So, I revealed everything about my servants.

“Servants…”

Fricks muttered in astonishment.

But that wasn’t the important thing right now.

“Combine!”

“Ha!”

“OF!”

At my command, Yeppi and Moon Rabbit clung to my legs.

Their combined length allowed me to ride the motorcycle stably.

“Watch closely.”

I started the motorcycle and revved the engine.

Vroom-!

The engine roared briefly.

The motorcycle circled the garage at a moderate speed.

“How’s that?”

“Huh…”

Fricks nodded absentmindedly, seemingly impressed by my display.

I clicked my tongue and brushed my hair back.

“So, can I take my motorcycle now?”

“Yes, go ahead…”

I smiled lightly at Fricks’ response.

Despite a minor incident, I safely retrieved my belongings.

However, there was still an unresolved matter.

The punishment for the human who stole my motorcycle.

“Where is the human who stole this motorcycle?”

Fricks didn’t answer this time either.

He just smiled awkwardly and avoided my gaze.

At that moment, a strong scent of sweet blood wafted through the air.

I naturally turned my head to see Rosetta approaching with glasses filled with blood.

Yeppi and Moon Rabbit swallowed dryly at the sight.

Rosetta handed a glass to both Fricks and me.

“This is an apology. I hope you can let this matter go.”

Did they think a glass of blood would calm my anger?

Of course, it wasn’t something I couldn’t overlook.

After all, I had safely retrieved my motorcycle, which was my main goal.

I handed the glass of blood to Yebbi and Moon Rabbit.

“Share it between you two.”

“Thank you!”

“Gasp…!”

Fricks sighed in relief as I accepted the blood.

I jumped off the motorcycle and spoke.

“Fricks, I have a proposal.”

“What is it?”

“I want your clan to join in hunting Fenrir.”

Fricks frowned at my words, as if he had heard something unbelievable.

“Fenrir? Are you out of your mind?”

“I’m perfectly sane.”

“How do you plan to catch that monster? You don’t even belong to a clan.”

Fricks’ voice grew louder, revealing his fear. It seemed he had firsthand experience fighting Fenrir.

“It’s a proposal that doesn’t require much thought. I refuse.”

“If I had a clan, would you join?”

Fricks sighed deeply at my question.

I moved my hand, and the black shadows began to react to my will.

“Hey, Charlotte. You…”

Ssshhh-

Fricks, who had been speaking calmly, was stunned by the sudden appearance of my servants.

All 31 of them emerged.

With the ominous shadows flickering behind me, I spoke.

“Isn’t this enough to make it possible?”

Fricks closed his mouth and began to examine the servants.

Of course, not all my summoned servants were combat-ready.

There were some level-1 children among them, and one of them let out a whimper, hiding behind me from Fricks’ gaze.

“This is…”

“I plan to propose this to other clans as well. Naturally, my servants will continue to increase.”

It wouldn’t be a big deal if they refused.

Though it would take some time, capturing more humans and increasing the number of servants would eventually enable me to fight alone.

“I’ll have to think about it…”

Fricks responded with a frown.

While I was tempted to turn every vampire here into my servant, that would be unwise.

Servants have the downside of lowering their level.

That’s why I hadn’t turned Hwanggu and Aurel into servants.

There was no need to weaken the strength of those who were friendly towards me.
