“It’s all that damned Yuan’s fault for tricking us into this place,” a rather cute young woman muttered, giving the giant tree beside her a frustrated kick.
“Enough, Ziyue, stop talking!” The man in a formal evening gown, looking utterly out of place in this world, frowned in annoyance beside her.
“Why shouldn’t I speak?!” Yi Ziyue retorted indignantly. “That person named Yuan was a beta player just like us, yet they trapped us in this undead world. Don’t you hate them?”
“There’s nothing we can do about it,” another man stated. “Only one of the seventy-three of us can survive, after all. Wouldn’t anyone else have acted the same?”
“Didn’t we form a resistance alliance? We even invited them and promised them the position of vice-leader, yet they still refused.”
“Everyone has their own ambitions. Perhaps they felt they couldn’t resist and had to comply with the game’s rules.”
“Or, of course, it could simply be that our power is too weak…”
“Weak?” Yi Ziyue’s expression dimmed, and she remained silent.
“Indeed. We’ve been relentlessly hunted by those two fellows, left battered and bruised along the way.”
“If not for Yan Yi’s Eye of Detection, we would probably be dead by now!”
“We’ve now delved into the deepest parts of the Undead Continent. They shouldn’t… be able to catch up anymore, right?”
“Who knows…”
“We don’t even know what grudge those two hold against us, to pursue us so relentlessly!”
“Why not just kill them directly?” Bai Que asked Luo Shang, who stood beside him.
“It’s a rare SS-rank mission. How could we not enjoy it properly?”
“Don’t you enjoy the thrill of slaughter the most?” Luo Shang smiled sardonically.
“Compared to slaughter, I prefer the exhilaration of the hunt,” Bai Que said, licking his lips. “They’re not far ahead. Shall we make our move?”
Luo Shang said indifferently, “I’ll do it. Under the combined assault of those thirteen, you might not be able to withstand it!”
“Are you mocking me?” Bai Que was clearly angered by his words. “You’re just relying on your Human Emperor Physique!”
“I am the Human Emperor. And you, as the next clan leader of the Asura race, why doesn’t your Asura Physique seem all that powerful?”
“My bloodline is still evolving…”
“Oh, is that so?” Luo Shang replied calmly, his tone unruffled.
“Hey, what do you mean by that?”
“Nothing specific. I just recalled the eleven times you were defeated by me.”
“What?!”
“The last time was clearly a draw, wasn’t it? Even if you knocked me down, I still sent you flying!”
“Pity, but it was you who fell, not I.”
Bai Que was speechless.
On her very first day venturing into the depths of the Undead Continent, Su Han was attacked. Faced with an encirclement by thirteen individuals, she had no choice but to flee.
“Stop! Don’t run!”
“Now that we’ve shaken off those two pursuers, it’s time for us to vent our frustrations!” Yi Ziyue, mistakenly believing she had escaped Bai Que and Luo Shang, intended to unleash all the resentment from days of being hunted onto Su Han.
As Su Han ventured deeper into the Undead Continent, she encountered a team. Recognizing her as a fellow beta player, they invited her to join their resistance alliance, speaking of growing stronger together and resisting the rule that only one of the seventy-three could survive.
Su Han was no fool, of course. She wouldn’t even consider resisting the game’s rules. ‘Even Bailuan had to abide by the rules, so did others truly think they could resist? How naive, adorably foolish~’
However, Su Han didn’t directly refuse them; instead, she politely declined.
But who would have thought that the rather cute young woman opposite her would immediately curse at her. “You’re asking for death if you don’t join us.”
“In a word, either join us and resist, or die!”
Seeing their shamelessness, Su Han no longer bothered with civility. She spoke bluntly. “Just you?”
“In a one-on-one fight, none of you are my match!” Using her system to detect their strength, she found the strongest among them was merely a Saint-tier Demon Knight, while the weakest had only just reached the initial Saint-tier.
In a one-on-one fight, none of these individuals were Su Han’s match. With her current strength, she could take on at least four of them simultaneously.
However, the opposing side was clearly not foolish. Seeing that Su Han was a multi-system cultivator, primarily cultivating bloodline, secondarily magic, and seemingly possessing battle qi, they all began to act cautiously.
“Attack! Can’t all of us together defeat just one person?” Led by Yi Ziyue, the thirteen individuals launched an assault on Su Han.
The Saint-tier illusion magic, ‘Nightmare of Misfortune,’ shot towards Su Han.
A Saint Knight, wielding a longsword, sent a sharp, conical burst of battle qi, ‘Sky Splitter Slash,’ flying towards her.
A lightning-fast mage unleashed the domain-type magic, ‘Blaze Domain,’ to trap Su Han.
“Let this young lady handle it!” Yi Ziyue shouted.
A Saint-tier magic, ‘Blizzard Art,’ flew towards Su Han. The water elements in mid-air rapidly dropped in temperature, forming new ice elements.
These coalesced into an ice mountain descending from the sky, plummeting towards Su Han like Mount Tai crushing its target. As it neared, it exploded, sending countless diamond-shaped ice shards streaking in all directions like a shimmering rain.
‘Sigh,’ Su Han sighed helplessly. ‘Why do all these things always fall to me? It’s only my first day venturing into the continent’s depths, and this is already happening…’
As Su Han murmured to herself, her twin pupils emerged. A [Time Stasis] miraculously froze the area where the ice shards were, before she delivered a ‘Mental Impact’ to Yi Ziyue.
Finally, in her Sealed Hand state, dragon wings sprouted from her back, and she fled far away.
Yi Ziyue’s soul wasn’t particularly strong. The Mental Impact from Su Han caused blood to gush from her nose and mouth.
As the flow of time resumed, she saw the wings on Su Han’s back and exclaimed, “A Dragon descendant, a Dragonkin!”
“If we capture her, this trip won’t have been in vain!” Ignoring the pain in her body, Yi Ziyue soared into the air, chasing after Su Han, seemingly having forgotten that she couldn’t defeat Su Han in a one-on-one fight.
“Ah, it’s better to use a healing spell to recover first!” Duan Jue flashed into mid-air, then cast a healing spell on the advancing Yi Ziyue.
‘Brainless woman. Why would Duan Jue ever fall for someone like her?’ Yan Yi mumbled to himself and followed.
‘If we don’t fight as a team, those two will probably get themselves killed, won’t they?’
“Enough, stop talking,” another person chimed in. “Duan Jue, as the Alliance Leader, must have his reasons for liking her. Why should we worry so much?”
“Let’s hurry and catch that Dragon Princess!”
“Mm!”
As the two conversed, the remaining seven individuals also soared into the air, vanishing into the horizon as streaks of light.
“Our hunt should begin now, shouldn’t it?” Bai Que said, lying on a tree branch with a blade of grass in his mouth.
“Let’s go,” Luo Shang said calmly, then shot into the sky.
“Hey, wait for me!”
