From the periphery of the mental space, which was simultaneously the reverse side of the real world, X, acting as a temporary observer, bore witness to the stories of her adversaries.
She was secretly startled.
‘Even as a soul body within the mental space, it seems Gloria doesn’t need her physical form to influence the entire world,’ she mused.
‘Merely using the Infusion skill can completely rejuvenate the psyche of all humanity. To think of it, it’s truly… exhilarating.’
Perhaps from a reader’s perspective, comprehending Gloria’s actions might prove difficult.
However, X, having subtly ascended to the fourth dimension, grasped every minute detail of Lucas’s post-rebirth experiences, as well as the insidious bomb that was Lan Sen, hidden within the Larry Ring Station.
Lucas’s story, in essence, was that of a perfectly compliant pawn, manipulated like an imbecile by Skynet, that calculating old scoundrel.
Ultimately, Lucas chose to abandon his intellect and embrace ‘honor’, blindly trusting his mechanical ‘stepfather’, thereby becoming Skynet’s loyal dog, continuing to perform its most despicable tasks.
The archetype of a tragic protagonist, Lucas’s eventual fate was predetermined: to be thoroughly consumed and then heartlessly discarded by Skynet.
He might even be compressed into fuel for a bio-power plant.
Despite her inclination to help, X chose to respect Lucas’s destiny.
Moreover, even if she had desired to rewrite his fate, the scope of this ‘Fool’s Pilgrimage’ was confined solely to the moon, preventing her from intervening with the Qiming, which was far away in the asteroid belt; she could only observe.
Still, watching the drama unfold was quite entertaining.
As for the Alliance, lurking in the shadows, Gloria’s account painted it as a deranged cult, a chaotic blend of extraterrestrial forces, and even the shadowy presence of Outer Gods.
The deeds perpetrated by this organization were not merely inhumane; they were barely even human.
The Alliance’s core objective was to meticulously follow the directives of The Apocalypse, step by step sacrificing Earth, the solar system, the cosmos, and the world itself.
Their aim was to plunge all intelligent life into madness and suffering, thereby inviting the advent of the Outer Gods and allowing a new world to emerge from the ruins.
The number of lives required for this insane plan was tallied in the millions.
Even Little Hitler would seem like a compassionate, impoverished art student by comparison, merely wishing to ‘liberate’ the Jewish people.
Naturally, X had no patience for these quasi-human entities and sought to conjure the vilest words imaginable to insult these lunatics.
Yet, in her observer state, X’s pronouncements could not permeate the real world.
Consequently, her torrential stream of obscenities flowed directly into Gloria’s ears, causing her, the narrator, to develop calluses on her ears, which then stacked upon themselves, ultimately forming a veritable Tower of Babel.
Unable to endure X’s incessant chatter, Gloria finally unleashed a ‘Greater Silence – All-Domain Mute’ upon her, temporarily sealing X’s ability to complain with a physical tongue.
It was rumored to be a 30th-tier skill capable of obstructing all information flow across the entire world, silencing every mage.
Quite formidable, indeed.
This left X utterly dismayed.
Why did Gloria always seem to use divine skills on her for such trivial matters?
Fortunately, the ‘tongue seal’ was lifted when the observation shifted to Lan Sen at the Larry Ring Station.
Then, witnessing that vile man, Lan Sen, harbor disrespectful thoughts towards Gloria, X’s temper flared once more.
The exceedingly vengeful X knew full well that Lan Sen was the scoundrel who had issued the Skyfire descent order for Earth’s N9 region.
Before activating the command, he had disingenuously uttered, ‘Not my sin, but the soldier’s,’ then hesitated for mere seconds before launching the Skyfire Phase Wave Cannon, an attack capable of effortlessly eradicating hundreds of cities and hundreds of millions of lives.
He was a thorough hypocrite.
Could he truly not comprehend the agony inflicted by a Skyfire bombardment?
Was it truly amusing to deceive himself and ‘erase’ an entire continent from Earth?
While X found pleasure in the sensation of pain, she abhorred the pain of death.
She detested Lan Sen.
Most crucially, he was a repugnant man who lacked any tenderness, daring even to insult a precious loli.
Lolis were meant to be cherished, not bullied.
If anyone were to bully them, only she possessed that right.
Thus, the instant Lan Sen snatched the experimental report from Gloria’s hand, X’s indignation surged uncontrollably, causing the temporary observer to overstep her bounds; her voice transcended the fourth wall and echoed into Lan Sen’s mental space.
Unsurprisingly, X was muzzled again and issued a warning: ‘An observer must act like an observer. Once you’re familiar with this skill, I’ll let you enjoy being a narrator. For now, you lack the qualification.’
Gloria was likely concerned that a narrator like X, overflowing with vulgar content, would render the entire world’s narrative unpublishable.
Subsequently, X watched as Gloria, with a seemingly unremarkable minor skill, thoroughly cleansed Lan Sen’s rich mental world, simultaneously modifying the ‘bomb’ within his mind.
Upon regaining consciousness, he would likely undergo a complete personality reset.
The secret regarding the ‘bomb’ in Lan Sen’s mind was something Gloria had uncovered by controlling the narrative.
This rather careless former scientist, now a monitor responsible for coordinate data calibration at the Larry Ring Station, who was not particularly loyal to Skynet and often performed his duties perfunctorily, was abducted and brainwashed by the Alliance during a journey home, after mistakenly boarding the wrong spacecraft due to a forgotten flight schedule.
Days later, he was covertly returned to the Larry Ring Station, becoming an Alliance sleeper agent.
Outwardly, everything appeared normal, yet everything about Lan Sen had been irrevocably altered.
A ‘bomb’ had been implanted in his brain, slated to detonate at a specific moment in the future.
Of course, it was not a literal bomb.
Instead, when the surrounding environment met certain conditions, a mechanical virus in Lan Sen’s brain would activate, causing him to lose control of his consciousness, which would then be taken over by hidden Alliance members.
The effect was strikingly similar to X’s ‘Lullaby,’ which forcefully induced sleep in the Iron Gale Fleet.
No, in fact, they originated from the same source, both being creations of the Alliance.
Originally, Lan Sen’s fate was tragic.
In the predetermined timeline, during the second Skyfire bombardment on the N9 region, Lan Sen, due to a sudden drop in Skyfire’s energy accumulation efficiency, went to the Larry Ring quantum accelerator to inspect the malfunction.
Upon reaching the control panel, which emitted special frequency electromagnetic waves, the ‘bomb’ in Lan Sen’s brain would activate.
He would then unconsciously modify the underlying program of the central part of the quantum accelerator.
A black hole device, designed to form a gravitational acceleration ring, would be reversed by him.
Two hours after the event began, the black hole device would instantly transform into a negative gravity device.
At the very moment the Skyfire Cannon fired, the accelerating high-energy particles, due to this sudden reversal, would deviate from their trajectory, breach multiple layers of barriers, and utterly annihilate the Larry Ring Station.
By then, the Larry Ring would become a true ‘Larry Ring’—a colossal impact crater hundreds of kilometers in diameter, clearly visible from Earth.
Lan Sen, fleeing in presumed guilt, would also become the scapegoat.
After escaping to Mars City, he would end his own life with a single shot.
Fortunately, all of this was merely a hypothetical future, calculated by Gloria in a ‘pre-simulation mode.’
She possessed the power to rewrite such a future.
