“Are you full?” Mu Yaochen’s glass of milk was already empty, and the sun hung high in the sky, emitting a harsh, blinding light.
The weather was getting hotter, and summer seemed to be approaching.
“Yes, I am…” Luo Yao looked at the plate in front of him, now bare of any food. Yet, he felt satisfied, having eaten more than he ever had before.
“Good. So, you’ll wear this?” Mu Yaochen nodded, set down her milk glass, and stood up, stretching languidly with a sinuous elegance that captivated Luo Yao.
“Hmm, this one will do.” Luo Yao swallowed hard, unable to deny the perfection of Mu Yaochen’s physique.
“Alright, let’s go. I’ll change upstairs; Frost will come find you. Wait for me downstairs.” Mu Yaochen tilted her head, walking casually towards the spiral staircase leading to the second floor.
Luo Yao nodded, acknowledging her instructions. Mu Yaochen then ascended the staircase alone, leaving Luo Yao to his thoughts in the living room, where he found a wooden chair near the window and sat down obediently.
“Miss said you’ll be going shopping for clothes?” As Luo Yao sat quietly, gazing out the window and pondering what his life might have been like had he not been purchased by Mu Yaochen, he heard Frost’s voice.
“Mm…” Meeting Frost’s emotionless eyes, Luo Yao nodded mechanically.
“Alright.” Seeing Luo Yao’s nod, Frost glanced briefly at his hospital gown, noting how much more appealing he had looked in it the previous night, appearing almost frail.
Frost cast a fleeting look at Luo Yao before turning her attention to the distant horizon visible through the doorway.
With a glance at Frost’s back, Luo Yao shifted his gaze to the window above, pondering the world outside.
“Everyone ready?” As Luo Yao and Frost were lost in their own thoughts, Mu Yaochen descended the stairs, dressed in a casual outfit. Her graphite-black hair cascaded to her waist, and she wore a cream-colored sweatshirt paired with a short black skirt. Despite not wearing tights, the contrast of her pale thighs against the black fabric was striking, a sight that Luo Yao found particularly appealing, as he had grown tired of stockings.
“Yes, Miss.” Frost immediately bowed her head in response. Luo Yao, seated nearby, stood up and lowered his head as well.
“Well, Little Yao, let’s go.” Mu Yaochen approached Luo Yao, gently stroking his head before firmly tilting his face upward, her dark eyes seeming to pierce through him.
“Be a good boy, alright?” Mu Yaochen’s demeanor had shifted dramatically from her previous assertive and seductive tone to one of unexpected gentleness, her eyes now soft and warm.
“What’s gotten into her…?” Luo Yao was taken aback by Mu Yaochen’s sudden change, nodding in confusion.
“Good boy.” Mu Yaochen smiled, her warmth radiating through her entire being.
However, Luo Yao found her smile increasingly unsettling.
Without waiting for a response, Mu Yaochen turned and headed for the door. But she paused, as if recalling something, and turned back to Luo Yao, who had just emerged from the house.
“Luo Yao, go ahead and get in the car.” Mu Yaochen’s voice remained gentle and steady, her previous self seemingly a distant memory.
“Yes, sure.” Luo Yao met her gaze and nodded, walking past both Mu Yaochen and Frost to the long limousine. The door was unlocked, and he opened it, climbing into the back seat before closing it, leaving only a glimpse of his head visible through the window.
Seeing Luo Yao in the car, Mu Yaochen smiled lightly.
“Frost, once we return, investigate Luo Yao’s parents or family. Get me a detailed report and send it to me immediately.” Mu Yaochen kept her gaze fixed on Luo Yao in the car, not bothering to turn to Frost.
Luo Yao, despite his curiosity, couldn’t hear their conversation clearly; the car’s soundproofing was excellent, and Mu Yaochen spoke softly, her words barely audible to him.
Luo Yao pondered Mu Yaochen’s strange behavior. She was unpredictable, and he feared what she might do, even if it meant he could end up dissected or preserved in a jar.
“Understood, Miss.” Frost bowed her head, quickly agreeing.
“Good. Let’s go.” Mu Yaochen nodded and moved toward the car’s rear door.
Seeing Mu Yaochen finish her conversation, Luo Yao hurriedly returned to his usual seat.
“Made you wait, did I, Little Yao?” Mu Yaochen, once settled, offered a gentle smile.
Luo Yao found Mu Yaochen’s smile increasingly strange.
He had prepared himself for whatever SM games Mu Yaochen might have in store, but her unexpected transformation caught him off guard, diminishing his once-steadfast confidence.
“It’s fine…” Luo Yao lowered his head, unable to meet Mu Yaochen’s eyes, his voice barely audible.
“Good. Let’s go, Frost.” Mu Yaochen smiled faintly, resting her chin on her hand as she gazed out the window, finding unexpected beauty in the unchanging scenery outside.
Today, her heart was filled with complex emotions, stirring a restless feeling that she couldn’t quite comprehend. A sense of instability grew within her, a process that she herself remained unaware of.
