Can’t this damn statue just be blown up?
Qiweiya’s eye twitched as she gazed at the magnificent statue before her. “Ugh, how infuriating! Why can’t I smash my own divine effigy? Creator God, these ridiculous rules are all your doing!”
Vernis tugged at Qiweiya’s clothes. Qiweiya, displeased, looked over. “What is it?”
Vernis glanced at the bustling, crowded street. “Master, shouldn’t we be registering now?”
Qiweiya’s gaze lingered on the exposed legs of a girl in a pleated skirt. “What’s the rush? I haven’t even finished admiring all the beautiful sights on this street! We can just find that disrespectful old geezer later and get some special treatment~”
Vernis seemed puzzled. “Is Master referring to the Academy Dean? But she doesn’t strike me as improper as Master describes.”
Qiweiya, standing on tiptoe, patted Vernis’s shoulder with a profound air. “My dear girl, you are still too young. You know a person’s face, but not their heart~ As the head of the academy and its founder, she needs to maintain a certain facade.”
Qiweiya swept her gaze across the towering, lifelike stone statue, then dismissed it from her mind. ‘Out of sight, out of mind,’ she thought. ‘Let its power be as it may, the moon still shines on the great river. I’m not looking anymore!’
She took Vernis’s hand and began to scan the girls with a predatory gaze. Unfortunately, having seen goddess-tier beauties daily, these merely above-average girls failed to stir any desire in Qiweiya.
Now, Qiweiya could only focus on admiring the legs of girls in short skirts. Naturally, she didn’t notice Vernis looking at her with a resentful expression.
“Oh, my! Who was that? Didn’t you see I was walking? You’ve made this old man fall to his death!”
Qiweiya’s lips twitched. She hadn’t expected to encounter a ‘faked accident’ so soon after arriving at the academy. A smirk played on her lips as she looked at the old man sprawled on the ground.
Suddenly, Qiweiya flopped onto the ground. “Oh, my child! You’ll pay for my child! Pay for my baby!” She then began to crawl towards the old man with a resentful expression, intent on grabbing him.
Startled, the old man sprang up with surprising vitality and vanished in a puff of smoke.
Qiweiya watched the direction the old man disappeared, then calmly got up and brushed off her clothes. She looked at Vernis, who was staring at her dumbfounded, and proudly tilted her head. “See? Against such people, you must use their own methods to deal with them.”
Vernis grabbed Qiweiya and bolted. Qiweiya was bewildered. “Eh? Eh! Wait! Why are we running?”
Vernis shrieked, indignant and exasperated. “You have no shame, but I do! Didn’t you see everyone on the street staring at us with strange looks?”
It was only then that Qiweiya realized. ‘Oh, right! I’m on the street! I can’t show my face to anyone! I hope no future classmates saw that.’
“Huff, huff~” Vernis panted, leaning on her knees. Qiweiya patted her back. “Oh, you’re such an active child. Look, you’re all sweaty.”
Vernis slapped her hand away. “Lady Qiweiya, if you ever plan to do something so foolish again, please tell me first.”
Qiweiya blinked her large eyes. “Why?” Vernis let out a resentful huff. “At least let me get a kilometer away from you! So I don’t get dragged into it too…”
Qiweiya’s eyes widened as she stared intently at Vernis. “Wh-what are you doing?” “I’m checking if you have hemorrhoids~” “Qiweiya! I’ll strangle you!” ****
After a flurry of chaos, Vernis straightened her disheveled maid outfit. “Shouldn’t we go find the Dean now? It’s getting late, after all.”
Qiweiya rubbed her flushed cheeks, letting out a mournful sigh. “Vernis-chan is truly merciless… such force.” Vernis glared at Qiweiya. “Are you still going to the academy?” “Of course I am! I’ve overcome so many obstacles just to attend school! It would be a waste of my passion not to go now!”
“Oh? I never thought my little Qiweiya, who always hid from me, would eventually come to study at my place~ I can’t wait to see my dear Qiweiya in the student uniform I specially prepared for you~” A seductive, mature voice echoed through the alley.
Qiweiya stammered, looking at the slender, graceful hands that had appeared on her smooth shoulder at some unknown moment. “H-how are you here? Shouldn’t an old hag like you be lying like a dead cat on that broken chair you call ‘living like an immortal’?”
A charming, foxy face, capable of eclipsing the beauty of any other being, rubbed against Qiweiya’s delicate, smooth cheek, chuckling softly. “Didn’t I just catch a whiff of my little Qiweiya’s scent~ So I simply followed the trail~” Rub, rub~ Rub, rub~
“Clang! Thunk!” The woman’s outstretched hand, with two fingers, pinched Vernis’s dagger. A teasing smile played on her lips. “Oh~ It’s been a thousand years, and the first thing you do is abduct a little maid to flaunt your affection in front of me?” She then patted Qiweiya’s stiff body. “Relax, relax. I won’t be so eager as to devour you here~ Hehehe.”
Qiweiya exhaled. “But just because you won’t now doesn’t mean you won’t later. After all, I’ll be at your school, always bumping into you. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to ambush me!”
The woman shifted her lips. “Aren’t you going to control your jealous maid girlfriend?”
Qiweiya looked at Vernis, the unspoken meaning clear in her expression. Vernis indignantly retracted her dagger, glaring coldly at the woman who had suddenly appeared.
The woman raised an eyebrow. “You two already have such tacit understanding? That truly makes me jealous~” Qiweiya tilted her small head proudly. “Of course! You should see who personally cultivated this maid.”
The woman noticed. “Oh? Cultivated?” Qiweiya clamped a hand over her mouth. “No, no, no! She was nurtured. Yes, you misheard just now.”
Veins throbbed on Vernis’s forehead as she gritted out a question. “Lady Qiweiya, are we not going to enroll?” Both the woman and Qiweiya turned to look at her. “You don’t know?” Vernis, seeing Qiweiya’s strange expression, asked dryly, “Don’t know what?”
The woman lightly covered her lips. “Hee hee hee~ I didn’t expect the little maid wouldn’t know this one’s true identity? Has this one been out of circulation for too long?” Vernis swallowed, pointing at the woman in disbelief. “Are you… Koranda Semuri, the Dean of the Strongest Academy? The Watcher-level peerless expert!”
“Clap~” The woman unfolded a paper fan, shielding half her face. “Ku ku ku~ If this one remembers correctly, the title you all gave me was ‘Strongest Under the Starry Sky’~”
Qiweiya broke the sudden silence. “Bah~ You use the Star Transference Technique I taught you to show off and get such a chuunibyou-esque title? Aren’t you ashamed? As my disciple, it’s truly a loss of face.”
Semuri patted Qiweiya’s head. “So you do remember you have a disciple like me~ I thought my good master would abandon me after using me up.”
Qiweiya turned and grabbed the lapel of Semuri’s kimono-like attire, indignant. “How dare you say that! How much effort did I put into teaching you from utterly useless to merely passable!” A look of utter exasperation crossed her face. “I spent countless heavenly treasures to transform your once flat figure into this voluptuous, peerless physique, didn’t I?!”
Semuri held Qiweiya’s head. Qiweiya first froze, then began to struggle wildly.
Bang!
Semuri swiftly delivered a headbutt, leaving Qiweiya dizzy and disoriented as she held her by the little head.
Semuri picked up the bewildered Qiweiya and made a feigned grab towards Vernis. “Don’t move around, or I’ll take you two to the academy. Don’t blame me if you end up maimed~”
Vernis shivered, no longer struggling. Semuri clicked her tongue, a flash of starlight, and the three vanished from the alley.
