After class, Wang Ning poked the still-asleep Glassy An on the desk with her magic cube.
The classroom was noisy, but this person was sleeping like a rock.
“Ningning, want some snacks?” Xiyali walked over enthusiastically, holding out a bag of snacks Wang Ning had never seen before. “West Sea Crispy Fishweed Strips, seawater flavor, super tasty!”
“Ah, thanks.” Wang Ning took the snack and, without thinking, popped one into her mouth.
…The taste was bizarre. It felt like a squid-flavored wooden stick wrapped in breadcrumbs, fried into a burnt mess, and sprinkled with a lethal dose of salt.
Wang Ning’s face turned green.
She felt like her teeth were about to shatter, and she still couldn’t chew it down.
“…Is this snack company about to go bankrupt?”
“Ah? How did you know?” Xiyali asked in surprise. “It’s such a shame, right? It’s so delicious!”
“Mm.” Wang Ning gave a noncommittal reply, inwardly breathing a sigh of relief.
Thank goodness. This kind of crime-against-humanity food deserves to be banned!
“But don’t worry, I already bought the whole production factory,” Xiyali said confidently. “If you ever want more, just come find me!”
Wang Ning: !
Wang Ning’s expression turned horrified.
She truly could not understand the tastes of rich people!
In the end, she was force-fed several packs of those “abomination snacks” by the overly enthusiastic Xiyali—each a different flavor. There was no way to refuse.
Wang Ning shoved the “weird-flavored snacks” into her drawer, swearing never to eat another bite, and flipped over to the product description side of the package to blacklist the manufacturer.
She glanced at the packaging.
The place of production was listed as the Sigel Continent.
Wang Ning remembered her history teacher saying that Sigel was a paradise full of beauties and gourmet food, with extremely diverse cultures, and countless islands and micro-states scattered like stars.
However, its most famous nickname wasn’t “Food Paradise” or “Matchmaking Heaven,” but—“The Fragmented Continent.”
Sigel natives living abroad would never say they came from “Sigel.” They would instead specify down to the exact village or street they were from—such touching insistence on details.
If she remembered correctly, one of the game routes took place there.
“You don’t realize how big the map really is until it’s brought into reality,” Wang Ning muttered to herself.
A husky, muffled voice came from beside her.
“…What game?”
Wang Ning flinched and turned around, only to see that it was just Glassy An waking up. She relaxed and said, “Nothing… Right, I wanted to ask you about this gray cube…”
Glassy An looked at her.
Freshly woken, her mist-blue hair was tousled and messy.
Her pale cheeks still bore red marks from being pressed against the desk, and her light-colored lips parted slightly, but before she could speak—
“I told you we’d meet again.”
The voice was so familiar that Wang Ning almost bolted straight out the door.
She looked up and saw that violet eye—the one not hidden by bangs—curving slightly under her gaze.
“Why the face?” Rin Yue suddenly leaned in close.
Wang Ning could see her own reflection in those eyes, and then heard her teasing tone:
“Not happy to see Mommy?”
“Mommy’s heart is breaking~”
Who in their right mind would be happy to see a perverted kidnapper who plays the mother-daughter game?!
Wang Ning instinctively leaned back, trying to create distance, and in the corner of her eye, she caught sight of the older twin standing nearby—calmly watching her.
…Something felt off.
Her mind flashed back to the time the twins stood before her, wearing the exact same expression.
Smack.
Wang Ning blinked in confusion, only to see the smile on Rin Yue’s face freeze—
A pen was now pressed against her forehead.
The hand holding the pen was slender and pale, faint blue veins visible just beneath the surface.
Then the pen pushed forward, applying more pressure, forcibly nudging Rin Yue’s face away.
Along with it came a tired-sounding voice:
“I told you—”
“Stay away from her.”
