Chapter 39: Omniscient reader’s view point, Part 1

After defeating Muzan, peace returned to the world.

With Muzan gone, all demons ceased to exist, and the Demon Slayer Corps was disbanded.

“Thank you.”

Ubuyashiki bowed before me, expressing his gratitude. I realized there was nothing left for me to do in this world.

-Create a happy ending for Kim Dokja and all other characters.
[Reward: 5,000 points]

While the newly unlocked quest was optional, I saw no reason not to accept it. I decided to enter the world of Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint.

‘And there’s a point reward, too.’

[Clone: A perfect copy capable of performing any task in place of the original.]

I had acquired this item from a previous random draw.

I hadn’t had a use for it until now.

‘Omniscient Reader is a story where dreams become reality.’

The protagonist, Kim Dokja, had to constantly dream to maintain the world, which was based on a novel he had read.

In the original story, he used an avatar skill to split himself into two: a 49% Dokja and a 51% Dokja. The 49% Dokja lived a happy life with his companions, while the 51% Dokja remained trapped in a dream, forgotten by everyone, to maintain the world.

In the epilogue, his companions discovered the truth and set out to find him.

I had only read the main story.

However, if there was a way to replace Kim Dokja, the epilogue wouldn’t be necessary.

I planned to use the Clone to create a happy ending.

[Selected World: Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint.]
[Starting game.]

I entered the story at the beginning, chapter 1.

On the subway, Kim Dokja realized that his world had become the world of the novel he had been reading.

Having read the entire story, I knew that Kim Dokja himself was the creator of this world.

‘There he is.’

I hadn’t created an avatar for this world.

It was a short visit, so there was no need.

“Greetings, everyone! I’m Bihyung, a dokkaebi! And from now on, you’ll have to kill each other!”

[Proof of Value: Kill a living being within 10 minutes.]

It had begun.

Proof of Value. If no one was killed within five minutes, everyone would die.

I wasn’t concerned.

I approached Kim Dokja, who was talking to Yoo Sangah with a serious expression.

I drew a knife from my inventory and stabbed him in the stomach.

“Wake up, Kim Dokja. You created this story.”

“What are you talking about?”

“I have a solution for you.”

I summoned the Clone.

“This Clone can replace anyone. Use it to maintain this world, the world you created with your dreams.

Then, you can finally be happy.”

“Is that possible?”

Kim Dokja’s gaze sharpened, as if he understood everything. I nodded.

“It is.”

“Then give me the Clone.”

I handed over the Clone, and Kim Dokja smiled, expressing his gratitude.

“Thank you.”

“Live a happy life.”

Kim Dokja chose to use the Clone to maintain the world in his stead.

“Huh? I was just stabbed…?”

Kim Dokja’s memories of our encounter vanished, and he returned to his original state. A system message appeared.

[Quest completed.]

Kim Dokja would now experience the story as intended, reaching a happy ending with his companions.

As his complete self, not just 49%.

[Exiting game.]

[Acquired 5,000 points as a quest reward.]
