With eerie green eyes and a body forged from boundless resentment, these terrifying monsters are born only from warriors. These were fighters who, even in death, retained the immense power and combat instincts they possessed in life. Only such formidable individuals could transform into these horrifying creatures, solidified from endless grievances.
Arbitration Demon Spirits are, without a doubt, the most peculiar of all undead creatures. Though their bodies and souls have succumbed to the corrosive power of the undead, they still retain remnants of their former selves.
Their innate combat instincts, for instance, guide them from the very moment of their birth. This grants them a formidable power level, typically at least Rank Six.
The most formidable among them can even ascend to Rank Seven or higher, an impressive feat for newly formed entities.
Among the three great monarchs of the Undead Realm, one is an Arbitration Demon Spirit, standing alongside Ye Yuan, the Scourge Knight.
The Three Monarchs of the Undead Realm:
The Undying: Scourge Knight – Ye Yuan
The Terminator: Arbitration Demon Spirit – Cang Yan
The Godslayer: Vampire – Xiao Yu
Beyond their inherent, formidable power, Arbitration Demon Spirits possess their own intellect. Evil forces may have corrupted their physical forms and souls, yet they failed to reduce them to mere monsters driven solely by slaughter and destruction.
They retain their complete thoughts and consciousness. While these faculties have undergone radical transformations due to the corruption of evil, such profound awareness is not common among all undead.
Only those truly at the apex of the undead hierarchy, like Death Knights such as Ye Shang, or Liches like Lans, can retain their minds and awareness under specific, arduous conditions.
Arbitration Demon Spirits, however, are born with these abilities. From the very moment of their creation, their own distinct thoughts are already formed.
This is precisely why Arbitration Demon Spirits stand as the most peculiar of all undead beings.
They even overturn the established hierarchical rules among undead creatures. Unless an Arbitration Demon Spirit willingly submits, no other undead can compel them to obey.
Even Ye Yuan, a Monarch of the Undead, has never managed to command an Arbitration Demon Spirit. No one knows why these beings, which should not exist among the undead, appeared in the Undead Realm.
Even the Undead Monarchs themselves possess only fragmented knowledge. Perhaps only the Terminator, Cang Yan, truly understands the full truth.
At this very moment, Su Han found herself confronting an extraordinarily formidable Arbitration Demon Spirit.
Thick mist swirled around a dark gate, from which a shadowy figure emerged. A powerful aura of resentment billowed forth, causing Su Han to involuntarily hold her breath.
“Wait, what exactly is this thing?” Before Su Han could even discern its features, a rotting arm shot out, reaching for her right foot.
Almost simultaneously, Su Han solidified her killing intent into a sword. Propelled by dark golden battle qi, threads of shimmering light enveloped the Sword of Killing Intent, resembling dark souls spiraling along its blade.
“Kill!” Su Han cried softly, swinging her sword to sever the rotting arm. She then accelerated, charging towards her adversary.
Black sword qi whistled through the air, swift as a gale.
“Heheheh,” the Arbitration Demon Spirit, Muxin, cackled maniacally, a chilling, evil sound. He completely disregarded Su Han’s fierce sword qi, allowing the dark energy to pass directly through his body.
“It’s useless. A body formed from resentment is immune to all physical attacks until it fully solidifies, and it possesses incredibly potent magic resistance,” Muxin said, licking his lips with a sinister grin. “So, why struggle? Wouldn’t it be much better to let me devour you obediently?”
Su Han, naturally, was not one to give up easily. The more bizarre the situation, the more she defied superstition.
Driven by a stubborn resolve, Su Han activated her Dragon Transformation, unleashing her right hand’s Forbidden Release state, and blasted Muxin with a surge of Gluttony.
The potent qi unleashed from her fist passed directly through his body, inflicting no substantial damage. She hadn’t even made direct contact.
‘Terrifying!’ Su Han thought, her heart sinking. ‘Indeed, the denizens of this deep Undead Continent are formidable opponents. I am still too naive.’
“However, you’re not the only one who can phase!” A smirk played on Su Han’s lips as she activated her special skill, [Copy], instantly duplicating Muxin’s phasing attribute.
“Hahaha, you talk a big game without any substance!” Muxin roared. “Since you’re so eager to die, don’t blame me for being impolite!”
A Hell’s Hand materialized from the malevolent qi beneath the ground, a colossal spectral hand rising skyward, carrying countless vengeful spirits.
The black, venomous hand pierced straight through Su Han’s body, while white vengeful spirits began to gnaw at her. Seeing this, Muxin burst into laughter.
“You spoke so boldly, yet look at you now! How utterly pathetic you appear!”
“Oh? Is that so?” Su Han replied with a relaxed expression. “Your spectral hand didn’t inflict any substantial damage on me at all~”
“H-how is that possible?” Muxin’s eyes widened in terror. However, after a moment, he contorted his face into a wide, deranged grin.
“Hahaha, you must be trying to trick me!” he scoffed. “You’re already at your wit’s end, aren’t you?”
“Ah, some people always think they’re so clever,” Su Han sighed, shaking her head regretfully. “Just like how I once had the misconception that ‘she liked me~'”
Then, her Twin Pupils emerged, instantly locking down the space around Muxin. She retrieved a purple gourd and absorbed the misty form of Muxin into it.
“N-no!” Muxin shrieked. However, the vortex at the mouth of the purple gourd swiftly drew him inside, where Su Han suppressed him.
‘As expected of an Undead Monarch; the treasures from a Scourge Knight are truly something else!’ Su Han mused, beaming with self-satisfaction.
Yet, just as she reveled in her triumph, a voice suddenly echoed from behind her. “Quickly, return my main body to me!”
Su Han spun around to see a misty, shadowy figure standing behind her. It bore a striking resemblance to Muxin and demanded the return of Muxin.
“Hm? A clone?” Su Han took a few steps back. She then cautiously assessed the clone.
“You, want this?” Su Han asked playfully, shaking the gourd in her hand.
To her surprise, Muxin’s clone grew frantic at the sight of the gourd. It reached out, attempting to snatch it from Su Han’s grasp.
But Su Han would never allow that; with a swift flash, she retreated backwards.
Seeing Su Han evade, Muxin’s clone shrieked. “Give him to me, now!”
“Give him to you? Absolutely not!” Su Han retorted. ‘Wait, why does my tone sound different?’ she wondered inwardly.
Despite her playful demeanor, Su Han dared not relax against Muxin’s clone. After all, her previous victory was a stroke of luck, achieved by exploiting his carelessness and underestimation.
Now, she couldn’t be certain she would win.
For safety, Su Han placed the gourd into her storage ring. She then fixed her gaze on Muxin’s clone, bracing herself for battle.
When Muxin’s clone saw the purple-gold gourd vanish from Su Han’s hand, it immediately grew frantic. Its height, originally 1.8 meters, began to shrink rapidly, as a dense mist started to spread.
A low, whispered chant emanated, quickly intensifying. Before the eerie green mist could fully envelop the area, a ghastly green light burst forth.
In an instant, the surroundings lit up, and a blinding radiance engulfed everything. The entire world seemed to turn into a vast expanse of white, as the space itself dissolved within the dazzling light.
“Corpse Explosion!” Su Han’s pupils contracted sharply. She recoiled in terror, sprouting dragon wings and attempting to flee at top speed.
But it was too late; the earth-shattering explosion had already enveloped her.
