There was a comment suggesting I read the notice. I wondered if there even was a notice, so I returned to the main page.

I searched for the notice, slightly flustered, before spotting it: a large “NOTICE” in the upper right corner. I felt a little embarrassed. I wish the commenter had just given me a link.

I clicked the tab and found about five notices. I selected “Yuri Gallery Usage Rules.”

00: What does “friendship is prohibited at the discretion of the mods” mean?

Loo: It means the head mod and assistant mod do whatever they feel like doing.

But doesn’t this feel a bit like a dictatorship?

That was my personal thought after reading the notice. Posts could be deleted at the mod’s whim…

The comments below seemed to share my opinion, criticizing that aspect of the rules.

How did they get away with that? It’s not a small community.

My curiosity tempted me to ask another question in the comments, but I chickened out.

Mods must have considerable power within the community… The rules hinted at their tendencies.

This was, after all, my sister’s regular community. I decided to ask her later. I navigated away from the rules.

The notice tab contained typical notices: banned content, contact info for the head mod, etc. One notice stood out.

The rules seemed to prohibit friendship within the gallery. I wondered why this post was allowed.

The meetup was surely a form of socializing. This wasn’t a particularly risky question, so I decided to ask in the comments.

As expected, the head mod, or Jootak, seemed quite self-absorbed. But wouldn’t there be backlash?

I decided against asking. As a naturally timid person, I lacked the courage. Plus, the person who’d answered previously expressed clear annoyance when mentioning the head mod.

They clearly disliked her. How could I directly ask about the head mod after that? It wasn’t cowardice; it was tact.

I felt I’d gathered enough information, so I shut down the laptop.

With the screen off, leaving only a chill emptiness, my body felt vaguely uneasy.

I hadn’t showered since the change. Even as a NEET, I’d always been meticulous about hygiene.
