The Nurturing Goddess and a Song of Longing

Chapter 41,547 words13 min read

Though Qiweiya had regained her freedom, her hatred for the Creator God ran bone-deep. Yet, she found herself utterly powerless against him.

Thus, she could only meekly depart for another divine realm to raise children.

Qiweiya’s shoulders slumped, her face a mask of utter despair. “Ah! To think I’d have to start raising babies before even finding a wife?”

She furiously scratched her head. “Argh! Why must I, the first god beneath the Creator God, begin by raising children? Has this world gone mad? Or do I possess some hidden nanny potential?”

She lowered her gaze, noting her barely A-cup chest. Her reflection on the polished floor revealed a loli-like face, framed by ivory hair and large, gem-green eyes that shimmered with an adorable innocence.

“No matter how I look at it, *I* should be the one being pampered,” she muttered. “A supreme loli raising babies… that’s surprisingly stimulating too.”

As she spoke, a rather lewd expression crept across Qiweiya’s face.

Suddenly, Qiweiya snapped back to reality. “Wait, no! This feels even worse than a simulation game! Giving infant care lectures to six giant orbs of light… it’s utterly humiliating! Isn’t this just like being a chuunibyou?”

[Administrator, if you do not begin educating the six Origin Gods now, they will be born prematurely. Surely, you don’t wish for six beings lacking common sense, yet wielding world-ending power, to devastate this realm.]

Qiweiya imagined the scenario, her face instantly darkening. “My heavens! A baby peace world? What a joke! The Creator God would surely kill me!”

“I’m going! I’m going right now!” she exclaimed. “Oh, right, can I bring them into my divine temple to teach them together?”

[Yes, the Administrator’s authority is second only to the Creator God’s. Lord Creator God has no strict requirements regarding their education.]

Qiweiya twitched her lips. ‘Second largest? Yet I’m still being ordered around so obediently!’

[Opening channels to the six other Origin God realms. Divine temporal-spatial link initiating.]

“Buzz.”

A pitch-black temporal-spatial gate materialized in the center of the divine temple.

“Boop boop boop…” With this peculiar sound effect, six large orbs, embodying nascent rules, tumbled out.

Qiweiya’s face was a picture of bewilderment. “Hey, hey, hey! That sound effect reminds me of Mulan laying chicks in ‘Never Thought Possible’!”

[You need not concern yourself with these matters, Administrator. Simply ensure you properly educate the six Lord Origin Gods.]

Qiweiya exhaled, closing her eyes. A moment later, they fluttered open.

Her gaze now held a faint, doting tenderness as she approached the six luminous orbs.

Exuding a gentle, maternal aura, Qiweiya softly introduced herself to the orbs.

“This is our true first meeting since the dawn of creation,” she began. “From now on, I will be your nurturer. Allow me to formally introduce myself.”

“I am the Goddess of Ice and Snow, one of the Seven Origin Gods, just like you!” she explained. “My duty is to punish those who seek to destroy worlds. Henceforth, I shall be your teacher, guiding you in the common knowledge and understanding of this world.”

The six orbs gently bobbed up and down, indicating their comprehension.

Qiweiya’s lips curved slightly. “Hmm… First, I must give you names. You can’t just go through life with a solitary title, can you?”

The six orbs visibly trembled with excitement. Qiweiya, a look of accomplishment on her face, pointed to the golden orb. “You are the Goddess of Light, aren’t you? You shall be called Lomance Light!”

Next, she indicated the black orb. “You are the Goddess of Darkness, so you shall be Nagornes Darkness!”

Then, her finger moved to the green orb. “You are the Goddess of Life, and your name shall be Waity Life!”

Pointing to the brown orb, she declared, “You are the God of Earth, and you shall be Eartha Earth!”

She then gestured to the red orb. “You are the God of Blazing Flame, and you shall be Hart Blazeflame!”

Finally, she pointed to the cyan orb. “You are the God of Storms, and you shall be Veto Storm!”

“Alright! Now that you all have names, we’ll begin our lessons immediately. When you emerge, you can call me… Sister Qiweiya,” she said, a private thought flitting through her mind. ‘My lost male essence, oh, woe is me!’ “For now, let me sing you a song.”

‘Qiweiya decided to sing “Mr. Rabbit,” a sort of elegy for her two former worlds.’

She cleared her throat twice, her eyes slowly growing distant. “The child asked Mama, ‘Where is Mr. Rabbit’s home?'”

“Mama smiled and answered, ‘The moon is Mr. Rabbit’s hometown.'” Qiweiya’s eyes grew hazy as she recalled her original world.

She remembered the fragrant osmanthus trees along the small paths of her hometown, and how, as the Youth, he had repeatedly pestered his grandfather.

Her grandfather always smiled, imparting lessons. When the Youth wanted stories, his grandfather would recount tales of the Red Army to inspire him.

Then, one night, his grandfather suddenly passed away. The Youth was overcome with profound grief, refusing to believe that the grandfather who had always smiled, joked, and taught him with Red Army stories just yesterday was gone. He, with his black hair, would now attend the funeral of one with white hair.

“I believe Grandpa will live to be a hundred!” That confident declaration was cruelly shattered by reality.

The song continued: “The child asked Mama, ‘Why doesn’t Mr. Rabbit come home?'” At that time, the Youth felt the world was impossibly distant, his sorrowful heart echoing. Yet, he couldn’t shed a single tear. He knew his loving grandfather wouldn’t want him to cry over his departure; his grandfather wanted him to live happily, carrying with him that deep affection. The Youth honored his grandfather’s wish, living healthily and joyfully for two years until he transmigrated to another parallel world.

“Mama smiled and answered, ‘Wandering is Mr. Rabbit’s specialty.'” The Youth was delighted that his family in this new world was still alive. However, this grandfather was not the one he truly missed. The aversion in his eyes utterly broke the Youth’s heart. Although his family was alive, the previous occupant of this body had been a complete scoundrel, abusive and depraved. His family found the Youth’s subsequent changes strange, believing he was merely putting on an act.

“The child pouted, saying, ‘Why won’t Mr. Rabbit listen? Grandpa Rabbit, Grandma Rabbit, they’ll miss him, they’ll worry about him!'” In this world, the Youth truly sealed off his heart. He couldn’t bear to see the contemptuous expressions of those who were once his closest family; it would break him.

“Child, child, softly say, ‘Ah, Mr. Rabbit, please come home! Your loving mom and dad are waiting for you in the distant sky!'”

Day and night, the Youth immersed himself in his computer. He hoped that anime, novels, and games could make him forget reality.

Yet, only he knew the profound longing he still held for his original world. There, at least, he had a father who smiled as he taught him, a mother who gently comforted him when he faced setbacks, and a family who cherished him.

“Mr. Rabbit smiled and said, ‘Ah, child, child, I miss home too! But my insignificant self, my wandering steps, cannot yet cease.'”

The Youth knew that with this world’s technology, there was no way for him to return to his original timeline. Therefore, he could only continue living, burdened by this world’s body and all its past.

“The child cried, ‘Ah, Mr. Rabbit, I won’t go home! There’s a nagging mom who often scolds me until my butt hurts!'” Mr. Rabbit smiled and said, “‘Ah, child, child, please hurry home! Someone misses you, someone envies you! Don’t make me cry!'”

The Youth discovered transmigration novels online. He poured his longing for home into these stories, hoping that one day he might gain the ability to traverse worlds like the protagonists, or at least possess the power to return home.

“Mr. Rabbit said, Mr. Rabbit said, ‘Child, child, hurry home! Even if you grow up quickly, even if you travel to the ends of the earth, home is an eternal longing!'”

The Youth wondered if fate was finally smiling upon him. The Creator God appeared before him, promising him godhood in a new world. However, he would also have to manage and maintain that world.

The Youth was ecstatic, for this offered him a glimmer of hope to return. He yearned to find a way back in that new world. He dared not reveal anything about his original world directly to the Creator God, fearing that the Creator God might eliminate him for the sake of temporal-spatial rationality.

He resolved to silently search for a method, hoping that one day he could return to the world he yearned for day and night, resurrect his beloved grandfather, and live happily ever after with his family.

“Ah, Mr. Rabbit softly said, ‘Ah, child, child, please hurry home, whether you are outside, or at the ends of the earth!'”

As the song ended, Qiweiya’s face was streaked with tears. The six orbs silently circled, protecting her. Even the Creator God, who had created and overseen her consciousness, remained quietly unspoken.
