A New Wardrobe

Chapter 401,332 words12 min read

After a considerable amount of back and forth, Lin Ziyan finally managed to place the cool, soft measuring tape against the girl’s body. A quick mental calculation revealed the bust measurement.

It was 10.2cm.

This size equated to… a B-cup.

This was quite unexpected; Lin Ziyan had initially thought an A+ would be respectable. While there might have been a slight margin of error, she doubted it, confident in her own proficiency.

She glanced sideways at Ye Xingmian, whose face was flushed as she remained hidden beneath the quilt. Lin Ziyan recalled that Ye Xingmian had always struggled to eat properly; had all her weight gone straight to her chest?

Alas, in some ways, it was an enviable physique.

It was just a pity it belonged to the wrong person.

She offered a meaningless smile, unsure herself what amusement stirred within her. Was it perhaps a strange, underlying sense of superiority?

Yet, none of that truly mattered. Ye Xingmian’s size was only slightly smaller than her own, meaning she could easily use Lin Ziyan’s previously worn bras.

Disregarding the naked girl who sat dejectedly on the bed, Lin Ziyan moved to the cabinet and began rummaging through its contents. Before long, she retrieved a bra that would suit the girl.

As for the style? Given that these were her old garments, they were naturally far from extravagant.

She also unearthed a pair of panties. These items had been gathering dust in the cabinet for ages, and she saw no issue with Ye Xingmian wearing them.

They might need a wash, but for now, that could wait. The immediate concern was simply having something to wear.

Leaning over, she gently patted the girl, who was still buried beneath the quilt. Lin Ziyan’s voice softened as she spoke: “Don’t be shy. Come try on the clothes I’ve prepared for you.”

“Clothes?”

The muffled voice emanated from beneath the covers. A moment later, a girl with disheveled hair cautiously peeked out, then sat up, her cheeks still tinged with a persistent blush.

“Yes, those.”

Lin Ziyan gestured towards the haphazard pile of garments on the bed.

“Huh? But aren’t these all yours…?”

“You’re already wearing my underwear, and you still care about these?”

“Ugh…”

Her face reddened further. The sheer fact of wearing her sister’s underwear still filled her with shame.

“But you were the one who made me wear them…” she mumbled under her breath. Yet, despite her efforts to whisper, Lin Ziyan still caught the words.

“Huh? You dare talk back?”

After a sharp glare, the girl instinctively drew her head back, silencing herself completely.

Seeing the girl retreat into silence, huddled on the edge of the bed, Lin Ziyan said nothing more.

She walked straight to the head of the bed, picking up a sailor uniform she had treasured for a long time. “Come here,” she commanded, “try this on.”

The girl turned at her words, a flicker of surprise crossing her face as she saw what Lin Ziyan held.

“Isn’t that your school uniform?”

Her arms still instinctively crossed over her chest, even though it was now securely enveloped, protected from any uncomfortable friction caused by movement.

The underwear Lin Ziyan had provided was a perfect fit, perhaps even a little too perfect. Honestly, it felt incredibly comfortable.

That just-right snugness brought a genuine sense of relief to the girl, who for so long had either been suffocated by tightness or forced to clutch her chest to avoid painful friction while walking. The feeling of security it offered was truly indescribable.

“No, this is called a sailor uniform.”

It looked exactly like a school uniform. How it was connected to sailors, the girl couldn’t fathom.

The girl didn’t understand, but she stiffly took the uniform and methodically pulled it over her body.

However, the item she received after the top plunged her into immediate silence.

‘This is… a skirt?’

She had only ever seen skirts on other people. Now, faced with wearing one herself, the girl’s emotions were complex, yet she still put it on.

The skirt’s elastic waistband cinched at her waist, creating a peculiar sensation: though she was clearly wearing something, the bareness on her legs made it feel as if she wore nothing at all.

Both her legs felt exposed and hollow, leaving her with a profound sense of insecurity.

Yet, a sense of uninhibited freedom also emerged—an experience utterly distinct from wearing trousers. Ye Xingmian believed it would take considerable time to grow accustomed to it, though she also suspected she might never truly adapt to wearing such a garment in her lifetime.

So, this was women’s clothing? Girls’ clothes; wearing them, she should look more like a girl, shouldn’t she? Honestly, it didn’t feel particularly special.

“Stand up and let me see.”

Lin Ziyan had, at some point, moved to stand before her. Ye Xingmian stood up, her head bowed. Lin Ziyan observed her, a frown subtly creasing her brow.

“Is something wrong?”

Noticing the frown, the girl asked, a hint of nervousness in her voice.

“It doesn’t suit you…”

Was it her temperament? The sailor uniform, intended to accentuate a girl’s youthful vibrancy and graceful figure, felt profoundly ill-fitting on the demure, head-bowed Ye Xingmian. It made her appear neither confident nor cheerfully spirited.

Indeed, if not for the girl’s attractive features, the overall effect could frankly be described as quite poor.

“Take it off.”

She seemed to grasp what type of clothing would suit the girl best and immediately dove back into the pile of clothes, rummaging once more.

Ye Xingmian was utterly bewildered. She turned to look at Lin Ziyan, a confused expression on her face. Was she simply being treated as a dress-up doll?

‘Why was she constantly being made to try on this and that?’

Still, it wasn’t so bad. At least it wasn’t strenuous, and Lin Ziyan wasn’t deliberately making things difficult.

Despite the oddness of the situation, she felt content.

Obediently accepting her role as a changing doll, Ye Xingmian shed the uniform once more. This time, Lin Ziyan presented her with a simple black dress.

It was a very plain design, pure black in color.

The Lin family’s resources couldn’t quite justify purchasing overly extravagant clothing for their own daughter, either.

Nevertheless, its design featured subtle touches: sparkling fragments adorned the hem, and a small red stone was nestled at the neckline.

It was a dress meant for spring and autumn, thus designed with a thicker fabric throughout.

Wearing it inside the heated room, the girl felt no chill. However, venturing outside would certainly require an additional coat.

While the cinched waist prevented a feeling of emptiness, the girl still found herself profoundly insecure.

How to describe this sensation? It was akin to running about with absolutely nothing covering her lower body.

“Stand up, let me see.”

The girl stood, and this time, the effect made Lin Ziyan’s eyes brighten considerably.

Her intuition had been correct; Ye Xingmian truly suited black. Her soft, dark hair cascaded loosely over her shoulders.

The dress somehow amplified her inherent lack of confidence and vulnerable demeanor, making the girl appear even more endearingly soft and delicate, much like a fluffy little cake.

“Perfect, this is the one!”

Snapping her fingers, Lin Ziyan then handed a pair of thick, over-the-knee socks to the bewildered Ye Xingmian.

“Put these on.”

She settled behind the girl, tidying the clothes strewn across the bed as she spoke.

These were all old garments she had long since stopped wearing, originally destined for the trash. Yet, unexpectedly, they had found new purpose, and the result was surprisingly pleasing.

The sizes were quite suitable too; they wouldn’t look ill-fitting on her “sister” at all.

Upon hearing this, the girl exhaled a soft sigh of relief. Yet, as she took the socks from Lin Ziyan, a look of distress involuntarily crossed her face.

‘She had absolutely no experience… How was she supposed to put these on…?’
