An Interrupted Moment and a Sister’s Support

Chapter 401,522 words13 min read

Chu Xin gazed at Ji Yue Xuan, yet remained silent.

After their recent kiss, his gaze was utterly captivated by her rosy lips.

The young man stared blankly, an unusual blush creeping across his handsome face.

Having just been kissed, Ji Yue Xuan’s already rosy lips, vibrant with life, now glistened even more, appearing like perfectly ripe cherries freshly washed with water, tempting one to taste them again.

Observing Chu Xin’s dazed expression, Ji Yue Xuan blinked. She had been eagerly anticipating what adorable response her Darling would offer to her playful words.

Yet, it now seemed such a response was unnecessary.

As for Chu Xin’s notion of their relationship progressing too quickly, Ji Yue Xuan paid it no mind. After all, she had endured for so long; what was a day or two of kissing in the grand scheme of things?

The thought of ‘taking it slow’ was far from her mind.

Chu Xin, meanwhile, desperately suppressed the urge to kiss her again. He turned his head, feigning composure as he finally spoke, “What are you saying? This is just lips touching lips. How could it possibly be comfortable?”

Ji Yue Xuan pressed her advantage, stepping closer to Chu Xin with a mischievous giggle. “Hehe, really? Doesn’t Darling find it comfortable?”

She teasingly placed a finger beside her lips, further intensifying Chu Xin’s focus. “Shall we… try again?”

Ji Yue Xuan’s words were a devil’s whisper, slowly drawing Chu Xin’s rationality ever closer to the precipice.

‘Damn it,’ Chu Xin thought. He had believed his resistance to her was fully maxed out, his combined lives adding up to a man in his late thirties or early forties. Yet, hearing those words, he found himself utterly unable to remain rational.

He roughly pulled Ji Yue Xuan into an embrace. “S-sorry.”

Ji Yue Xuan, however, merely shook her head, her brows arching gracefully as she began, “It’s perfectly fine, Darling~ Do whatever you wish…”

But her words were cut short as Chu Xin’s breath rushed into her nostrils.

Chu Xin had kissed her with unexpected fervor.

Ji Yue Xuan compliantly closed her eyes, savoring the gradual intertwining of their breaths.

Chu Xin’s arm encircled Ji Yue Xuan’s waist, while his other hand instinctively drifted towards her smooth, fair thigh… yet, it ventured no further.

A faint whimper escaped the young woman’s lips.

After a little over a minute, they finally separated.

They both panted, their eyes hazy as they stared into each other’s.

Ji Yue Xuan rose onto her tiptoes, her arms encircling Chu Xin’s neck, her handbag long forgotten at her feet.

Her warm, panting breath brushed against Chu Xin’s face. “It was quite comfortable, wasn’t it, Darling? Hmm… care for another round?”

Chu Xin, his face flushed, said nothing, only panting softly as he struggled to cling to his remaining shred of rationality.

A flicker of unease crossed his mind. If it was merely a kiss, why was his reaction so overwhelmingly intense?

While Chu Xin had never kissed anyone before, he wasn’t entirely ignorant of such matters. His current state felt akin to having ploughed three *li* of land in one breath, only to then be forced into a half-hour horse stance.

He mostly attributed it to the prolonged kiss, which had likely led to a touch of oxygen deprivation.

Nevertheless, his body felt somewhat weak, his mind a complete blank, much like a young girl forcibly kissed in a web drama.

Ji Yue Xuan curved a small smile, her eyes narrowed as she observed Chu Xin panting, desperately battling his own instincts.

‘Heh…’

‘Darling~ We don’t need anyone else; it’s enough for just the two of us to be comfortable.’

‘The only pity is that Darling only touched my thigh and didn’t dare to venture further.’

‘While ‘on-the-spot justice’ isn’t advisable… it wouldn’t take long to get back to Darling’s place.’

Seeing Chu Xin’s lack of response, she decided to initiate another kiss herself. Yet, just as she leaned closer to him…

The glass door creaked open, and Sister Bai’s gentle cough followed. “My, such affection between you two~ Still, do pay attention to safety and your surroundings.”

The words had barely left her lips when Chu Xin, as if jolted back to reality, hastily released Ji Yue Xuan. He quickly retrieved his own backpack and Ji Yue Xuan’s handbag.

In moments of acute embarrassment, humans invariably feign busyness.

Ji Yue Xuan shot him a glare, a flicker of dissatisfaction in her gaze.

Her impression of Sister Bai was generally favorable; the woman’s ‘danger level’ was notably low. She was a gentle older sister who genuinely treated Chu Xin as a younger brother, and she even seemed to support their burgeoning relationship.

However, her deliberate interruption at this particular moment was an entirely different matter.

To her surprise, Sister Bai retreated into the restaurant just as quickly, but not before casually tossing out a VIP card for a high-end hotel.

Before closing the door, she poked her head back out, offering one last remark: “I actually meant to give you an umbrella~ but, you know~ getting caught in the rain can be quite comfortable too~ Go on now, be safe, mhm!”

With those words, she turned and disappeared without a backward glance.

Only Chu Xin remained, utterly flustered in the breeze. Fortunately, it wasn’t rush hour, so no pedestrians were nearby. Still, Sister Bai’s words had completely dispelled his bashfulness, leaving his mind remarkably clear.

Ji Yue Xuan beamed at Chu Xin, who still held the card. “Darling? Shall we go experience it today? Taking tomorrow off… that should be perfectly fine, right?”

She, however, seemed to have completely missed the nuance of Sister Bai’s final comment.

“Why are you adding to the chaos now?” he sighed, dispelling a flurry of thoughts from his mind. “Let’s go, let’s eat first.”

“So… you two are officially a couple now?” Sister Bai asked, smiling warmly from across the table.

Chu Xin sighed helplessly. “Is Sister Bai really that much of a gossip?”

He had certainly not anticipated such a proactive assist from Sister Bai; it was quite the pleasant surprise.

Sister Bai covered her mouth, chuckling softly. “It’s a girl’s nature to gossip, isn’t it? Perfectly normal. So, is it true?”

Chu Xin nodded, his face flushing. “Mhm.”

Sister Bai clapped her hands delightedly. “That’s wonderful! I just knew you two would end up together.”

She resembled someone whose favorite fictional couple had finally, successfully, gotten together.

Ji Yue Xuan, however, voiced her displeasure. “Sister Bai, how could you come out and interrupt us like that?”

“My apologies, little Yue Xuan,” Sister Bai said, raising her hands over her head with an apologetic expression. “Seeing you two just reminded me of when I was dating your brother-in-law, so I simply wanted to offer a little push. Don’t mind it, alright?”

With such an earnest apology, Ji Yue Xuan found herself at a loss for words. She simply let out a small ‘tsk’ and cast a glance at the now timid Chu Xin.

Sensing Ji Yue Xuan’s resentful stare, Chu Xin immediately straightened up. “Sister Bai, we’ll have two Chinese seafood risottos, a spaghetti with tomato meat sauce, and a fruit parfait to go, along with two orange juices.”

Such an eclectic mix of dishes, which would never appear on a single menu elsewhere, was a common sight only at the “Meow Cat Restaurant.”

Observing Chu Xin’s skillful evasion of the topic, Ji Yue Xuan let out a soft huff, but decided not to pursue it further.

After meticulously noting each item, Sister Bai inquired, “Is this for your sister again?”

Chu Xin nodded. “That’s right. Little Jin can’t cook, and I still have school, so what else can I do?”

Sister Bai sighed. “Now that you have a girlfriend, you must also be mindful of the relationship between your sister and your girlfriend, mustn’t you, little Yue Xuan?”

Ji Yue Xuan smiled and nodded. “Indeed, Sister Bai. Darling is so kind to his sister, I’m practically green with envy.”

“Oh my, such intimate terms?” Sister Bai chuckled, resting her chin in her hand. “Much sweeter than when we were dating.”

Chu Xin shot Ji Yue Xuan a dark look. “Why are you saying all this in front of Sister Bai?”

Ji Yue Xuan merely snorted, subtly pinching the soft flesh at Chu Xin’s waist. “Isn’t it true?”

Chu Xin yelped softly, then decided to remain silent, resting his head quietly on the table.

‘Truly, two women can create quite the dramatic scene.’

Sister Bai offered a comforting smile. “Alright, alright, let little Chu figure it out on his own.”

As she spoke, she was about to leave to prepare their meal. However, a thought struck her just before she departed, causing her to turn back to Chu Xin.

“And… little Chu, are you truly not going to use that card? Consider it my support for you both, alright? After all, you do need to be mindful of the occasion…”

Whatever Chu Xin had imagined, his face instantly flushed crimson. “Sister Bai, I won’t use it!”
