“What, what is it. Why?”
Without a word, he pushed me into the foyer.
My back, pushed back step by step, hit the front door, and Jeon Seongwon leaned in, planting both arms beside my head as if trapping me.
His pheromones wafted thickly.
He seemed to be releasing them little by little.
The scent was completely different from Kang Chaehee’s, which I’d been feeling just moments ago, and I unconsciously sniffed at it.
Jeon Seongwon flinched slightly.
“……I’ll get used to Kang Chaehee’s scent.”
He muttered.
He was now deeply inhaling at my neck.
Mixed with Kang Chaehee’s, the scent must have been somewhat different from usual.
Since we’d had s*x, Kang Chaehee’s scent was probably stronger.
No matter how boldly I’d acted—saying don’t interfere, that an omega’s affair was within my rights—I couldn’t be bold in this situation.
I shrunk back, watching Jeon Seongwon’s mood, when he straightened up and picked up the pheromone neutralizer from the foyer.
Then he covered my mouth and nose and started spraying it all over my body.
So much that my clothes became slightly damp.
“……Honestly, I want to spray it on your bare skin.”
“…….”
His hand movements as he put the neutralizer down looked so heavy that I couldn’t say a word.
The neutralizer was harmless, so there was no need to cover my mouth and nose, but…….
After that, Jeon Seongwon pulled me—my clothes now damp—into a tight embrace and released faint pheromones.
Not enough to stir an omega.
It seemed he was still mindful of how I’d gotten angry about that last time.
He held me like that until my body was completely covered in his scent.
* * * *
“Hm? It ends here?”
Lying on the sofa in my room, reading a book, I blinked.
The book I was reading had just ended at a critical point.
“What is this?”
Looking again, it said ‘End of Volume 2.’
Which meant there was a Volume 3.
Han Youngjun had only bought me up to Volume 2, though…….
I scratched my head, wondering where I could get Volume 3 right now, when I suddenly remembered—there was the exact same book in Jeon Seongwon’s study.
He had hundreds of books, but not many were novels, so I remembered it.
Jeon Seongwon was on a business trip, traveling from Vietnam to China.
He probably wouldn’t be back for at least two more days.
Even if he were, would he say anything about me rummaging through his study…….
He would.
His study was full of books he treasured.
If I touched even one thing wrong, with that sensitive personality of his, he’d raise absolute hell.
‘So I’ll just quietly pull out that one book.’
I could have sent Han Youngjun to buy it, but going to the nearest bookstore from here and back would take about 30 minutes all told.
I didn’t have the patience to wait 30 minutes right now.
I shot up and headed to Jeon Seongwon’s study.
The study, set up to let in almost no sunlight, had three walls completely filled with two-tiered bookshelves.
‘I think it was around here…….’
I started rummaging through the right-side shelves.
Carefully, of course, so as not to mess anything up.
Being careful now was better than dealing with Jeon Seongwon’s irritation when he came back later.
Fortunately, I found the book I wanted without too much searching.
<The Hidden Relationship Between the World and the Moon>, all the way up to Volume 4.
Just in case, I opened the last page of Volume 4, squinted at the content, and saw the word ‘The End’ at the very bottom.
Excited, I was about to pull out Volumes 3 and 4 when something thudded down with them.
A thin hardcover book, about the same size as the novels.
The cover was leather, and looking at the front cover that had fallen open, I saw a mark I’d never seen before.
“What is this……?”
I set the novels down on the desk and picked up the hardcover.
It was heavier than it looked for its size.
Carefully opening it, I saw it was a kindergarten graduation album.
They make graduation albums this small……?
Tilting my head, I flipped through it.
Looking closely, it wasn’t a regular kindergarten—it was one attached to an orphanage, and the album contained only the children who had graduated from there.
On the back pages, there was a message of gratitude to the sponsors.
What, had he been sponsoring an orphanage without my knowledge?
Why would he hide something like that……—I looked at the sponsor page, but for some reason, Jeon Seongwon’s name wasn’t there.
“……?”
Why did he have an album from an orphanage he didn’t even sponsor?
Well, at least the hardcover hadn’t gotten bent or crumpled when it fell—that was a relief.
I carefully put the album back in its place and returned to my room.
Back on the sofa, my phone was blinking.
I went over and checked—it was Kang Chaehee.
[They said they’re going to film my scenes earlier. Looks like I’ll be shooting in about a week.]
“Hmm…….”
Since that audition had been for the final casting, he’d already done the script reading, and the director had told him they were about to start filming.
But I hadn’t expected them to shoot Kang Chaehee’s scenes—which didn’t even appear until around episode 8—so soon.
[Why so early?]
[The director said he wants to film it quickly.]
I held my phone and tilted my head.
Filming early could be good or bad.
The downside was that with only a week before filming started, the set would be chaotic; the upside was that the director must have liked Kang Chaehee that much…….
[And I left something for you at the hotel…]
[At the hotel? What?]
[In case you have time, I thought you could look at it.]
I had to tilt my head again.
What could it be that he didn’t give it to me directly and specifically left it at the hotel?
[You could just give it to me directly. I have time tomorrow.]
[Just because. You don’t have to take it if you don’t want to.]
That made it even more puzzling.
The message ended, and I turned the page, but the words wouldn’t register.
Earlier, I’d been dying to read what came next.
In the end, I called Han Youngjun and headed to the hotel.
Even as I went, I thought I was being excessive.
What was it that made me rush over like this?
Without even knowing what it was.
“…….”
And when I arrived at the hotel room, I blinked at the object placed neatly on the table.
A bouquet wrapped in lavish packaging.
Nestled among the flowers was a note: ‘Congratulations on your debut.’
“Hah…….”
I considered calling him, but then stopped.
He was probably at the filming set right now—even if it wasn’t his shooting time, he’d be busy with greetings since he was a rookie with a debut project.
That made this bouquet all the more surprising.
He’d taken the bouquet he’d received to celebrate his own debut—that special thing—and given it to me.
And when he didn’t have time to give it in person, he’d sent it this way…….
He must have asked his manager to put it in the room.
A pleasant fragrance came from the flowers.
Lately, I’d received flowers twice—both times from Kang Chaehee.
Hugging the bouquet, my heart racing with some indescribable emotion, I closed my eyes—
when suddenly, I heard the sound of a key card being swiped and the door opened.
I quickly looked up, thinking it was Kang Chaehee—but someone I hadn’t expected was there.
Jeon Seongwon.
“……What are you doing here?”
“Your first words to someone are ‘what are you doing here’?”
Jeon Seongwon frowned.
To me, it was as if a ghost had appeared.
“Did you forget? This is originally our shared room. I have a key too.”
He said this casually as he came out after washing his hands, but that wasn’t what I wanted to point out.
It was true I’d forgotten that Jeon Seongwon also had a key, but there was a more fundamental problem.
“I mean, why are you here when you’re supposed to be in China?”
His business trip schedule shouldn’t have been over yet.
I didn’t understand why he’d appeared here like a goblin.
I quietly set the bouquet down and looked at him.
His gaze flicked briefly toward the bouquet.
“I canceled my schedule and came back to sign the contract with Weilin. I’m heading to the office soon.”
Since both the company and this hotel were in the same area, transportation wasn’t an issue.
So what I was really curious about was why he’d suddenly shown up here out of the blue.
“Weilin will be in Dubai for three months. He’s leaving tomorrow, so I hurried back.”
“……Wasn’t he a painter? Why is he going all the way to Dubai to paint?”
“He said the scenery in Dubai is nice. Weilin is an artist, so he has his own stubbornness.”
“Oh, I see…….”
“…….”
When I fell silent, Jeon Seongwon’s face wrinkled as he looked around the room.
“What?”
“The room smells like you and that bastard.”
Huh, so what.
Irritation suddenly surged up, and I shot back.
“Yeah, it probably does. Want to go see the bedroom too?”
At that, Jeon Seongwon’s face crumpled.
He strode over to me, twisted my wrist firmly, and pressed his lips against mine.
I struggled a few times, but his grip was annoyingly strong—I couldn’t break free.
I endured his tongue roaming in my mouth for a moment, and the moment he pulled back and let go of my hand, I raised my arm high and slapped him across the face.
“…….”
Jeon Seongwon covered his cheek and lowered his head slightly.
“I told you I hate this kind of thing. What, now that Weilin’s leaving, you’re desperate for someone?”
“……I’ve told you several times that’s not it.”
Actually, I already suspected it wasn’t.
But right now, I needed something to attack Jeon Seongwon with.
I stared at him, then opened my mouth.
“I know it’s not true.”
He flinched and raised his gaze.
“Then…… why do you keep seeing Kang Chaehee.”
“Because.”
I pointed to the bouquet Kang Chaehee had given me.
“He gives me flowers.”
